December 2021[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Such-change47. I noticed that you recently removed content from Afro-Mexicans without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. If you wish to remove such a large amount of text, I recommend you use the talk page instead and discuss your changes. To remove such a large amount of text at once looks like blanking and is not constructive. Such-change47 (talk) 00:10, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Such-change47Not sure if you are a bot or a real editor but I explained why I deleted the sub section with an extensive edit summary. It is entirely based on blogs which don´t meet WP:RS and include largely erroneous, anecdotal or inane content which does not add value. Kindly self-revert. It is a bad habit to revert editors impulsively without taking time to examine the merits of the rationale provided in the edit summary. Thank you. Yanga Veracruz (talk) 00:17, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Such-change47 I also notice you have reverted all of my edits, all of which include extensive edit summaries and policy justifications. Is there any reason for such an aggressive move? Following AGF I´ll assume it was an honest mistake by a slightly trigger happy wikipedian. Let me know, so I can continue my editing. Yanga Veracruz (talk) 00:21, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Yanga Veracruz, I reverted your edit because you removed a large amount of text without much justification. I am a relatively new editor, so perhaps I got things wrong. BilCat is highly experienced and appears to have been checking some of my edits. @BilCat:, please may I have your opinion? Also ToBeFree if you could advise?Such-change47 (talk) 00:27, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Such-change47 I noticed you were relatively unfamiliar with wikipedia since my justifications were abnormally extensive for your average editor. Don´t worry, we all make mistakes. You see the stuff I was deleting was according to a Wikipedia policy known as WP:RS which requires article content to be reliable. Wikipedia articles need to be sourced and , in matters related to, for example, the colonial history of Afro-Mexicans, we cannot use sources such as Blogs or articles by people who are not academically qualified to hold a reliable opinion on the matter. Maybe user:BilCat can explain it better than I can. My objective in this article is to slowly substitute unreliable sources for reliable academic ones. Once you are satisfied with my explanation and with BilCat´s confirmation, I would appreciate a self-revert. Thank you! Yanga Veracruz (talk) 00:35, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Such-change47 I never heard back from you. Do you still disagree with my edits you rolled back? If so, drop me a message on the talk page of Afro-Mexicans so we can discuss. Otherwise, I would appreciate a self-revert since I don`t like to revert other editors. Thanks!Yanga Veracruz (talk) 22:03, 14 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
