License tagging for Image:Sexorcist.jpg

Well, as far as Lif's recent work goes, I prefer Black Dialogue to Mo' Mega, but it's still a good album. His flows are tight as always, and the guest spots are on-spot and not overwhelming ("Murs iz My Manager" stands out). Hell, might be easier to say which artists I'm not into....Among the stuff I like: most of the well-known underground hiphop scene (e.g. most stuff on DefJux, Rhymesayers, Quannum, hell even some anticon) and some of the majors, a good deal of punk (the old standbys like Bad Religion, NOFX, Fear, the Exploited, Todos Tus Muertos, et al), some world music (Manu Chao / Mano Negra, Amadou & Mariam, Ali Farka Toure), a bit of alternative rock, a smattering of folk even....you name it. My preference changes with my mood, and lately I've been in more of a hip-hop state of mind (with all the new stuff coming out these last few months), hence the focus on Wikipedia lately. And of course it's always easier to make significant contributions to articles on underground artists, since most of the major-leaguers are already covered pretty well. Whats up? Hi, I'm trying to gather some more interest and support for the Wikipedia:WikiProject Punk music. Please check out the topics and lets get our WikiProject to function better. Recently, I've taken an interest in the Wikipedia:WikiProject hip hop and I consider that WikiProject to be better developed. I am now writing to usernames on the hiphopWP who might be interested in helping with the punkmusicWP. Hopefully we can all work together to improve articles relating to punk as has been done well with hip hop. Finally, I am trying to gather support and opinions concerning the punk house article and specifically the Theta Beta Potata article which is currently in AfD (x2) at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Theta Beta Potata (second nomination). It's not a comment on the quality of your contributions; I don't feel that this particular template is appropriate for Wikipedia. Its size is one major problem; you shouldn't list every album on the label, for example, as it's already way too large and will only get more so as the label continues releasing records. As for its appropriateness, Stones Throw is a minor label - it's not one of the majors, and no release on the label has even gone gold. I know who J Dilla, Madlib, etc. are, and would never nominate the article on Stones Throw for deletion, but ST is so minor that the template isn't necessary and just takes up space in articles where it appears. Now, for example, if you wanted to put together a template on Madlib's umbrella of artists and projects, that would make much more sense to me as something that would allow readers to quickly click between tightly connected topics. Re: Covers in the chronology

Wikipedia fair use policy states that copyrighted material must contribute significantly to the article (e.g. identify the subject of an article, or specifically illustrate relevant points or sections within the text) and must not serve a purely decorative purpose. Using fair use album covers in album chronologies is therefore inappropriate. This issue was specifically discussed after the {{Album infobox 2}} template was created (this template had "last cover", "this cover" and "next cover" parameters which allowed adding album covers to chronologies). After extensive discussion the template was redirected to {{Infobox Album}} and deprecated [1]. Jogers (talk) 14:41, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

I'm not a lawyer. It's just one of the points raised at Album infobox 2's TfD and previous discussions [2] [3]. It was back in 2005 so consider discussing it again at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums or Wikipedia talk:Fair use. It would be much easier and more straightforward to create additional fields in {{Infobox Album}} - creating a separate template is now not necessary. But personally, I don't think that using album covers in this fashion is a good idea and I would be surprised if we reached different consensus nowadays. Jogers (talk) 12:10, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Daniel Dumile, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. I spent a couple of weeks a couple of years ago

uploading what seemed like millions of EP covers from my 1960s collection. They added (opinion) a lot to the articles, visuals and colors often being sorely lacking from wikipedia. Virtually all are gone now, not because some record company complained (I imagine that they love them) but becuse someone decided that my excuse for using them was not up to par. Proposed deletion of The Live Mix, Part 2

The article The Live Mix, Part 2 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced article of non notable album. Fails WP:NALBUM.
