Help with page move?

'ello. Fancy seeing you at your own talk page. >_>

Can you help in a page move? An editor moved a page without discussion with fellow Wikipedians, and now images in the now-moved page are funky. I only ask since you assisted in a page move of the same info before, and being inexperienced I don't want to risk screwing the page up any further or doing a cut & paste.

The page was for the DragonBall character Freeza, which as of now directs to Frieza. I'd be thankful for any help in rectifying or fixing the link. Papacha 04:49, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

We got the picture back up at any rate, so I s'pose any decision on a page move would be in your court now. In either case, take care. Papacha 07:39, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Protecting {{user hindu}}

Thank you for protecting this template! I am very greatful that you have done this. --Shell <e> 13:11, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

I would have edit conflicted you on Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion a minute ago, but was partially reverting the person you were reverting, and expanding on parts of it. I do NOT want to edit war over a policy page and think resolving it on the talk page is the only way to get it to stick. Please look at our difs and see if my "right version" (sarc) is OK for now. (Please reply on my talk page if you are going to reply directly to me). — xaosflux Talk 03:24, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

I don't really mind, I just found the revisions made by the anon, esp. the edit summaries, a little too bold for my taste. An anonymous user reverting an established user like Tony Sidaway, then making a number of changes that seemed to be overly bold for such a contentious area looked like something that should be reverted and discussed before anything else happened. Anyway, I like your version for the time being. WerdnaTc@bCmLt 03:32, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

Vandal

Yeah, I thought he had genuine intentions too; however, the second time I happened to look at the edit through popups and I saw the bottom part. But anyway, thanks for blocking him. Wikipedia:∞, vandals:0. Cheers! Master of Puppets That's hot. 04:00, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

CSD

I'm not here to argue or even ask that you revert yourself. It just seems to me that as the original author of a humour piece/hoax it is quite possibly my prerogative to nominate the page for a speedy deletion (for that matter, I could have done it myself, but I dislike bundling the nomination and deletion–second pair of eyes and all that). Just a thought. Mackensen (talk) 02:49, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

Replied on your talk, deleted as db-author. — xaosflux Talk 02:59, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

Sharedip I am stuck behind sorry. (Later on note) Yeah, I was trying to edit and kept getting the nice blocked text, its somewhat hard to edit that way, hence I just hit unblock so I could make the edits I needed to, sorry if that caused any problemos Tawker 21:14, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

Template:Wdefcon

I missed something, the link was disfunctional, it was unclear from the edit history when it was inserted(23th?), nothing to find at 23th, there was an old TfD, and there had been a lot of reverting, so I went wrong.... :-) I fixed the link now. -- Kim van der Linde at venus 03:47, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Even better. And voted to keep. This is the second nomination of the same person, persistant. -- Kim van der Linde at venus 03:53, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

I just accepted your nominations. Thanks for the confidence that you show in me. I saw that you have already added it to the page, thanks. If necessary, I might come to you with questions, but I do not anticipate that that will be needed. -- Kim van der Linde at venus 02:37, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

Grin, I did not know that I had hit the 5000 mark already. :-) -- Kim van der Linde at venus 02:39, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
Indeed, I have seen a few passing by. -- Kim van der Linde at venus 02:40, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
O, I keep roughly an eye on it, but no, I can not care to much about it. Besides that, I think the Parrot project I am currently work in result in a slightly inflated count, sometimes, when I have to update stuff a name or add a new taxonomic level, it runs in the 10 of edits, which normally in a single article would be one edit. I think what counts is the quality of your edits, not the number. -- Kim van der Linde at venus 02:48, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
Thanks, I suddenly had extra buttons and such, was kind of funny. Thanks for the nomination and the confidence of you in me. And sure, I will pass by to for questions when I have them (and I will get them for sure). -- Kim van der Linde at venus 04:38, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Hello. You recently removed the sprotect from this article; within two hours, the article was vandalised by the same extremely persistent user that was the motivation behind this article being locked in the first place. That's really how bad the situation is. We've been dealing with this goof for almost half a year, including multiple legal threats against Wikipedia. I really strongly recommend re-protecting the article. Warrens 05:28, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

This person is back again, with an absolutely [mind-boggling] number of reverts in a single day. Any chance we can get another protect put on the page? BudVVeezer 04:12, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Re: Thanks

No problem. That's why I'm here!--digital_me(t/c) 03:05, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Dear Xaosflux, in the past you have shown interest in the article 24/24 World Concert. I have listed it for deletion since I believe that it is too early to establish its notability. I would appreciate if you can take a look at the AfD and add your opinion to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/24/24 World Concert. Best regards, gidonb 13:58, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Lol - thats creative

Template:User Christian - that is creative! -- Tawker 02:39, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

Hmmmm....

Some people had raised some concerns that it would be in short a form of advertising on user pages to go and vote keep on DRV and therefore vote stacking, I see both sides of this one and don't want to go on either side of the fence -- Tawker 04:42, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

Re: {{Ordinal date}}

Your instructions make perfect sense to me! I've a little nitpick about the leap year thing, though; technically, the algorithm used by {{isLeapYear}} only works for the Gregorian calendar, which has been adopted at various times by different localities (the UK didn't until 1752). So that's kind of a gray area — shouldn't matter too much, though, I doubt anyone's going to be using dates that early. ;) æle  2006-06-02t04:25z

We can do it on request. :P æle  2006-06-02t04:31z

Hi, it is my page WP:CHU. Could you delete it please. --TKK3 05:10, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi Xaosflux, I've semi-protected this page again due to long term vandlsim. Just wanted to let you know since you've delt with protection on this page in the past. The hydro pages (this page, hydropower and some others) have been geeting non-stop vandalism for over a year. I'm not sure why but have a theory. --Duk 15:42, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

DRV

On DRV, you said that List of tongue-twisters should be restored because it was deleted at Wikibooks. It has however, also been transwiki'd to Wikiquote, where it has not (yet) been deleted. -Splash - tk 20:34, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

Deletion review of List of tongue-twisters

I'm notifying you because you voted recently at Wikipedia:Deletion review#List of tongue-twisters. Since your vote, additional information (merely, the fact that the content was transwikied to Wikiquote) has emerged. I'd therefore like to ask you to revise (or confirm) your vote in light of this additional information. Thank you, and sorry for bothering you about his. —Ilmari Karonen (talk) 21:28, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

Deletion of Pohaha

I just noticed that you deleted the Pohaha article. I was wondering why you did so, especially since it had a source cited. Asarelah 03:31, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Deletion of talk page

Hello Xaosflux; You kindly deleted my talk page upon request a few weeks ago. I have since moved things into new archives and would like to have my page cleared again. I have retained the Wiki code for the links on my harddrive, so you need not worry. Many thanks! Charles 01:02, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi Xaosflux;
The method you posted seems much more manageable. I will utilise it. Thanks! Charles 01:53, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
That I shall keep in mind. Thankfully, I don't have much of a problem with personal attacks or talk page vandalism. The odd dispute or two, but that is human nature :-D Charles 01:58, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
I messed up my page pretty bad :-S. I moved it and now I can't move it back. It's really confusing. Can you move it back for me? Thanks. Charles 03:17, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
That was perfect! Thank you very much and sorry if I was somewhat of a nuisance. Charles 04:31, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Re: CSD - Billboard Hot Dance/Club Play artists

I only listed it, since the consensus as reported is delete. Otherwise, I have no real opinion on the subject, so I'll abstain. Image categories at CAT:CSD

Hi, why did you remove the categories of images that need to be speedied from CAT:CSD? There's a huge backlog of improperly sourced and/or licensed images that need to be deleted, and putting them in CAT:CSD is the only way of bringing them to admins' attention. Angr (talk) 08:01, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

the userboxes

hello xaos, I'd like to talk with you about why I'm doing those removals. You'll see, just like a category of crationist wikipedians can be used to quickly get vote stackers should a controversial afd or debate arise, the same can be said from the evolitionists under the category of fsm. Both things are potentially compromising the NPOV of wikipedia. Now, I'm not deleting the category, I'm just objecting its use on userboxes, which is one of the main arguments anti-userboxes (they being used for networking user by beliefs and rallying them when needed). No there's not a hard policy on they not being acceptable, but I'm appealing to your good common sense (if you want, put the category on your page separatedly) but please, keep it out from the userbox. Would you please? -- Drini 17:13, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Ejaculation pic

I saw you deleted it with the message "This image does not have information on its copyright status for more than a month." Was the pd-self tag a fake? CanadianCaesar Cæsar is turn’d to hear 04:44, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

(copy from Image talk:Cum.JPG and Talk:Ejaculation) I just deleted that image from it's nomination on WP:CSD as a copyw unknown image over a month, but may have done so in error. If anyone still has the image and reuploads it with a valid copywrite status, I will not delete again. — xaosflux Talk 04:49, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
Someone removed the tag and marked it for deletion for not having the tag, then left two personal attacks on my talk page. CanadianCaesar Cæsar is turn’d to hear 04:51, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
It was tagged by Julien as db|no copyright and pornography when it had PD-self at 4.36 UTC. At 4.41 CanadianCeasar reverted to PD-self. At 4:48 you deleted. The article was in the middle of a dispute over the inclusion of this image (some considered it to be pornographic and wished to censor it) and had been protected. Image deletion (unlike text deletion) is permanent. If this was an accident you need to be MUCH more careful. Not everything that is tagged as speedy delete is valid, by a long way. Secretlondon 16:49, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
As you can see from the log I delete LOTS of things while working Speedy Deletions. I had never been involved with the article (check I've never been involved with it) until after I deleted the image. After seeing the issues I immediately commented on the image talk (since deleted) and the article talk as to my possible article deletion, and that I would NOT contest a properly copyrightsed image being reuploaded. I am aware that image deletions are permenant, but this this deletion in good faith. We will all make an error occasionaly, and I will be checking realted edits more frequently in the future on image deletions. Let me know if you have any more questions. — xaosflux Talk 03:46, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm confused, how does one delete images? I tried to a long time ago (delete an image) and it would not let me. --Julien Deveraux 04:52, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

How does one become and admin?--Julien Deveraux 04:55, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Should Julien Deveraux be blocked for disruption then? CanadianCaesar Cæsar is turn’d to hear 04:55, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

OKay this is getting out of hand, I got upset with this user because he accused me of doing something I did not do and got irritated with me over it and left nastiness of my page . But I frankly don't really want to talk about that, i've been contributing very well over the past 2 years and havent' had past difficulties, I simply got short-tempered. Are you going to answer my question or should I ask someone else? --Julien Deveraux 05:00, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

I asked about becoming and admin since apparently everyone cannot edit this thing --Julien Deveraux 05:05, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
  • See both your talk pages. — xaosflux Talk 05:02, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

It's only being used for vandalism. See the uploader's contribs and User:72.148.43.61's contribs. --Rory096 19:18, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

Well technically, it says that it's only being used with permission (making the tag wrong), so that's speediable... --Rory096 19:57, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

Religion userbox directory in userspace

Hi Xaosflux, thanks for everything you're doing to help end the userbox wars. I thought I could help by starting a mirror directory of Wikipedia:Userboxes#Gallery. As part of that process, would it be okay with you if I updated User:Rfrisbie/Userboxes/Religion to show the religion userboxes listed at User:Xaosflux/UBX? I've already linked to your page in the "See also" section. Regards, Rfrisbietalk 20:46, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, links will be at User:Rfrisbie/Userboxes/Religion. Rfrisbietalk 20:52, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Noticed that you marked this as a high risk template - freak of nature asked if it was really needed but no one ever responded - can you help? Trödel 18:07, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Logs link

I'm curious if you think it'd be worthwhile to approach Village Pump (or whoever) about adding a tab to "logs" (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log&user={{{1}}} or whatever) to the top of monobook.css/js for user/user talk pages. Any opinions? ~Kylu (u|t) 21:15, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
