A tag has been placed on CapitalTourist, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of CapitalTourist and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ~~ Dr Dec (Talk) ~~ 14:38, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

February 2022[edit]

Information icon

Hello XXX-Rays. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:XXX-Rays. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=XXX-Rays|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. bonadea contributions talk 12:20, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Bonadea!

Thank you for your efforts in verifying the article and its sources. I appreciate your contribution, experience, approach and professionalism.

However, the answer to your question is no. I am not personally acquainted with the management of TRES OTC DMCC, I am not related to its founders. Also, I did not receive any paid for compiling the article. The main motivation for this work is the belief that this company is unique and outstanding. This is the first company in the UAE that has the legal license to conduct transactions and execute contracts with cryptocurrencies (purchase and sale). Subsequent legal entities which have the same license are no worse. But this company has started the legal circulation of cryptocurrencies in the UAE between residents of the UAE and others.

As far as you can notice I tried to substantiate each fact used in the preparation of the article with reliable and ponderable sources. But the decision on the article is on you and community. XXX-Rays (talk) 07:19, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for clarifying that! The draft is still waiting for review; I have moved it to Draft:TRES OTC DMCC, and you are free to keep editing it – review times can vary quite a bit since all reviewers are volunteers.
A few things to keep in mind:
a) sources should support the information in the article, not provide further information about a tangentially related topic. As an example, this source is used as a reference for the sentence "TRES OTC DMCC company plans to join Swiss holding TRES Group Gmbh", but the source doesn't mention TRES OTC DMCC or their plans to join the holding company, it only shows that TRES Group Gmbh exists.
b) background information that is not directly related to the company should be kept to a minimum. Most of the section "Start of crypto activity in UAE" is not about TRES OTC DMCC, and the single sentence that is about the company is also covered, with a source, in the following section.
c) articles about companies (or other topics) should not be based mostly on press releases and other primary sources, and a press release that is published in multiple places is still just one source. This and this, for instance, is clearly the same PR, with a little bit of rewriting ("Previously, crypto assets trading license in the UAE was illegal and inaccessible" in one source, "Previously, the crypto property buying and selling license within the UAE was unlawful and inaccessible" in the other one, for example).
d) new companies often lack the kind of independent coverage that makes a company notable as Wikipedia defines notability. I'm not saying that is necessarily the case here, but it is important to be aware of that. It's good that you are not connected to the company, since company representatives or people who are commissioned to create an article about a company often find it very frustrating that most new companies simply are not notable – as an unconnected pesorson you might find it is a more constructive use of your time to move on and edit other articles.
If you have questions about editing, the Tea house is a good place to ask them, and if you have questions about the review process, there is the Articles for Creation help desk. Posting there will generally not influence the time until review, though. Regards, --bonadea contributions talk 10:11, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Bonadea!
I have fixed some moments you showed me. Left an article as is for a while. Will ask for a support in the teahouse later. XXX-Rays (talk) 17:06, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of discretionary sanctions regarding blockchain and cryptocurrency topics[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Due to past disruption in this topic area, the community has authorised uninvolved administrators to impose discretionary sanctions—such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks—on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, expected standards of behaviour, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on these sanctions. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
