U.S Oil and Refining

U.S. Oil and Refining is coming along well -- nice work! Could I convince you to add citations to much of the article, so that future readers can verify the information from external sources? I see the "External links" section, but footnotes in a "References" section would be really nice (see Footnotes for an explanation of how to do this). Good start, but I see you've cited "First-hand knowledge" as one of your sources. The No Original Research policy states, in part,

“ Citing oneself

This policy does not prohibit editors with specialist knowledge from adding their knowledge to Wikipedia, but it does prohibit them from drawing on their personal knowledge without citing their sources. If an editor has published the results of his or her research in a reliable publication, then s/he may cite that source while writing in the third person and complying with our NPOV policy.

”

As an employee at USOR, and having discussed various topics/information in the article with fellow employees who have been there for 2-3 decades, I cannot cite any other published sources than "company archives". This is research and working knowledge from within the company. Most of the historical information is referenced in the article (e.g. Tacoma Public Library), but facility/operational/administrative data can only be obtained from within the company, but some is mentioned on their website (as referenced) or on the Business Week site. Would it be better to cite "company facility documents" or the like? Wittenstein 21:52, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

I think that would be a good start; even better if you can name the documents (e.g., "U.S. Oil and Refining 2002 Annual Report"). Travisl 23:06, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
