Articles for Deletion: Gaucho Theory[edit]

I've nominated your article Gaucho Theory for deletion. Sorry - I'm a redditor too, but it doesn't fit WP:N. The nom is here. Bsimmons666 (talk) Friend? 03:07, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Guacho theory[edit]

This is the only reason that article existed at all. Wikipedia does not allow articles on non-notable internet memes. (ie. anything less well-known than rickrolling) Thingg 03:35, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I read the talk page and all I saw was a bunch of chatter from some guys on that reddit forum. Having a page about a new meme is not, imo. a good idea as it clearly and indisputably fails every notability guideline in the book. If it becomes notable in the future, that is fine and we can make an article about it, but as of now we have no way of knowing what will happen to it. Thingg 03:53, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
yeah it was kind of a trigger-fingered delete on my part, which is part of the reason I restored it. (another more experienced admin recommended I let the AfD run it's course; I've only been an admin for like 5 weeks) Also, I didn't realize the 'hangon' had just been added because my script that displays a clock on the top right of Wikipedia articles uses my computer's time, not wikipedia's time, and my clock was about 2 minutes faster than WPs. Also, it is standard procedure to delete the talk page of articles when deleting the main article. (otherwise we'd have literally hundreds of thousands of mostly useless talk pages floating around; see this page to get an idea of how many pages are being deleted right now) So now the article is back and the AfD will run it's course. Sorry about the trouble. Thingg 04:11, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
