I'm curious, by what standard do you consider this article to be high priority? There are only 39 high priority articles in the entire CVG WikiProject - presumably the most important video games in history. Do you really think BF2142 falls into that category? This is not meant as a criticism - I'm just curious how you determined. --Mus Musculus 05:21, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Battlefield's revolutionary system has been applied in Star Wars Battlefront, War Rock, and Quake Wars, as well as others. The system itself started a whole new perspective. Additionally, you are thinking of Top Priority, Top Priority has 39 articles, High Quality has over 200. Thanks for the discussion. Pembroke 01:43, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

concerning image uploads[edit]

hello, i received your message on my talk page. i upload an image every time i create an article which is often, so it is not a rare event for me to receive a thick batch of notices every cycle. thank you for your concern. --AlexOvShaolin 20:05, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Luis Pérez Dasmariñas[edit]

Thanks for the suggestions on Luis Pérez Dasmariñas, Pembroke. Sources are hard to come by for this article, and as you observed it is based almost entirely on Morga's account. Morga is a good source, but I wish I could find more. I'll see what I can do about internal links and pictures. Maybe a map, because I don't believe a portrait is extant.
I don't understand what you mean by "lacks true WP:MOS". I've been careful to follow the Manual of Style in all my articles. Can you give me some more specifics?
I think this is a good article, although I wasn't sure it was a Good Article. I nominated it for two reasons. First to get a better "feel" for the GA standards, and second to get a second opinion on the "Start" rating in the other template. I wonder if you would be willing to reread the article and make a judgment about that?

Silent Hill 2[edit]

Erm, thanks for passing Silent Hill 2, but I was kinda expecting you would write up an assesment on how it did on the criteria. I just thought it was standard procedure. --Lenin and McCarthy | (Complain here) 08:59, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your support in my RfA, which closed at 111 / 1 / 2. I am humbled and rather shocked to see such kind comments and for it to reach WP:100. Please feel free to leave a note if I have made a mistake or if you need anything, I will start out slow and tackle the harder work once I get accustomed to the tools. Thank you once more, I simply cannot express in words my gratitude.

BF2142 Concerns and Golden Sun[edit]

Ok, I've improved GS, but there are some issues I have with the questions you raised.

Secondly, as for BF2142, I have some final considerations. First is that the reception should probably be expanded. You said that it should be of high priority for CVG; you also brought up your reasons for this. Then put them in the article, perhaps in a subsection entitled Legacy under Reception. The second is that you have absolutely nothing on single-player. Dåvid Fuchs (talk / frog blast the vent core!) 16:18, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:BlocMiss.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:BlocMiss.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:49, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Clock Tower 1 Game.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Clock Tower 1 Game.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 18:14, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:2057.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:2057.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Support2142.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Support2142.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. Unspecified source for Image:Clock_Tower_1_Game.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Clock_Tower_1_Game.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 09:24, 10 February 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 09:24, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Scissorman_FF.JPG[edit]

I have tagged Image:Scissorman_FF.JPG as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. Image copyright problem with File:Bogatyr.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Bogatyr.JPG. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
