Speedy deletion of "Doppelmayr Cable Car"[edit]

A page you created, Doppelmayr Cable Car, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how it is important or significant, and thus why it should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for companies in particular.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thanks. BigHairRef | Talk 09:30, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hold on; this article is under discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard#History from User:Wikifox20 to Doppelmayr Cable Car. The article was created in User: space (but directly on User:Wikifox20 itself) and I'm (trying) to get the history rescued before diving in to clean the article up. The subsequent delete has made the situation ever more complex... —Sladen (talk) 12:47, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I think the dust has now-settled and I hope that you're not too disenfranchised as a result! The main material about the company is at DCC Doppelmayr Cable Car and the material about the cars themselves is at CABLE Liner. Viewing the history for the company page[1] should now show all of the edits (including those that were at User:Wikifox20) and going back to 2008-08-02. Dive in and continue editing!
In future, the best way is to use a Move where-ever possible; this automatically keeps the history of the edits, without having have the manual fiddling that was required on this occasion. For example; creating the page at User:Wikifox/DCC Doppelmayr Cable Car and then doing a Move: to the final page name, when it is ready. Hope that helps, and thank you for getting involved with Wikipedia! —Sladen (talk) 13:22, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Sladen, Thank you so much for helping me creating this article. I never inteded to do anything wrong, I did a lot of research before creating my first article, but I guess I missunderstood how to create a page on the user page and then move it in the "live wikipedia". Now I know how to work with move and I thank you for supporting me. I will try my best to create more helpful articles without causing so much trouble. Thank you very much! Sincerely, -Wikifox20 (talk) 10:59, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Working on articles together with other editors is a pleasure and you've ended up with not just one, but about five articles that didn't exist before!
I'd actually been thinking a few months earlier that there was no article for the Birmingham MAGLEV (which my father took me on [once/twice?] when I was younger) or its replacement—that I discovered when trying to take a friend on the MAGLEV (which of course, had disappeared by that time ...and by ten years). It's good for somebody to come along and blitz the whole 'set' of DCC/Cable Car articles in one go. Settling into the style of Wikipedia takes a while, but do stick with it—just one warning, it can be addictive, especially if you end up with lots of pages on your Watchlist, it can also be frustrating at times, but also satisfying.
There is another single-track cable-hauled inter-hotel "tram" in Las Vegas (Mirage to Treasure Island), but I haven't found out who installed that one and it was possibly more a one-off than the Cable Liner stuff has turned out to be. Once again, thank you for getting involved! —Sladen (talk) 10:53, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Pphpd[edit]

A tag has been placed on Pphpd, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Caiaffa (talk) 14:06, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Pphpd[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Pphpd, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. --Snigbrook (talk) 14:14, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've cleaned it up a little and marked as a stub. —Sladen (talk) 16:27, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello; I've moved the draft of your article under your userspace: User:Wikifox20/AirRail Link (note the 'User:' part at the front). Keep up the good work, and remember to do a Move rather than a copy-and-paste when it's ready! Best wishes! —Sladen (talk) 08:47, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent, thank you for completing the article and moving it to article space at AirRail Link! By the way, this is your Talk: page and you are allowed to talk on it! —Sladen (talk) 10:54, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Prose[edit]

A recent edit[2] of yours removed a {{prose}} formatting tag. I have reverted your removal of the {{prose}} tag. Please do not remove such a tag until the issue has been fully dealt with. In this case, the large number of list-bullet points would be better handled as flowing paragraph text, more suited to an encyclopedia. Please reply here to confirm that you have read this, and with any further questions you may have. Thank you. —Sladen (talk) 12:44, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I understand. I will try to work on it. Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikifox20 (talkcontribs) 12:49, 16 July 2008

The article Magdalena ekert has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. ttonyb (talk) 02:51, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Magdalena Ekert[edit]

The article Magdalena Ekert has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This player is not notable by project standards; she has no Fed Cup or WTA main draw appearances, has not won any ITF tournaments above the $25,000 category, had no remarkable junior career (neither a Grand Slam champion nor ranked within the world's top 3), and there are no further claims that she is otherwise, at present, generally notable.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
