National varieties of English[edit]

Information icon Hello. In a recent edit to the page Vertu, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. Nzd (talk) 07:57, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your username[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "WikiBrandAffairs", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username, by completing this form, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 09:57, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you have a response, please put it here, I will see it. 331dot (talk) 09:58, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the advice! I really appreciate it! The goal is to work with my clients in a transparent manner, so I can disclose that we have been paid for the contribution. I am currently looking into changing my username. Any other advice/recommendations are welcome! WikiBrandAffairs (talk) 10:09, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You may use the link in my post above to request a username change. I would also suggest that you stop using "we" regarding yourself as it suggests that multiple people are using this account, which would not be permitted. Also, if you are editing for clients, it is mandatory per Wikipedia's Terms of Use that you review and comply with the paid editing policy. You should also review the conflict of interest policy and conduct yourself accordingly. If you have any questions, please ask. 331dot (talk) 10:12, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'm striking part of my post, as I see that you have likely already seen that policy. Apologies. 331dot (talk) 10:14, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Really appreciate your help & feedback! WikiBrandAffairs (talk) 10:16, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
