Unblocked[edit]

Hi White2020, I'm seeking clarification over your block from the administrator User:Yamamoto Ichiro as I see no clear violation of our Wikipedia:Username policy policy here. You should get a response within 24-48 hours. --  Netsnipe  ►  06:32, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've now unblocked you because I disagree with Yamamoto Ichiro's overzealous intepretation of the "racism" criteria under Wikipedia:Username policy. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. --  Netsnipe  ►  14:34, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A Welcome and an Apology[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia! I just wanted to apologize for earlier, when I overzealously blocked your account per WP:USERNAME policy. I now regret this, and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused for you. As an administrator, I consider my actions to be unacceptable and I hope that things like this would never need to happen again. Thank you for taking the time reading this. I hope you enjoy your stay here on Wikipedia and it will be much more smooth than what you first experienced. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate asking me or any other administrators for assistance. Yamamoto Ichiro (山本一郎)(会話) 21:13, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:UPM Bintulu.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:UPM Bintulu.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:13, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Image tagging for Image:Woulogo.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Woulogo.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Cosmo logo 02.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Cosmo logo 02.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 02:33, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Cosmo logo 02.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Cosmo logo 02.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 13:28, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mankiw and Malaysia[edit]

When you cited Mankiw's Principle of Economics to jutisfy Malaysia as NIC, you will need to produce the page number. __earth (Talk) 15:24, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nominations of various pages[edit]

I've noticed that you are nominating several pages for various quality levels. Those pages lack the quality to be promoted and your nominations are doomed to fail. I kindly suggest for you to read the requirements for FA and GA, among others and improve those pages first before nominating them. __earth (Talk) 05:58, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Kuala Lumpur[edit]

The article Kuala Lumpur you nominated as a good article has failed , see Talk:Kuala Lumpur for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of said article. If you oppose this decision, you may ask for a reassessment. Cheers, CP 15:55, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA Nom of MMU, Swinburne...[edit]

Hi, I noticed you added the GA Nominations tags on both, although I'm only really looking at MMU at the moment. What I was wondering was whether you nominated the MMU article because you reckon it is potentially a GA or to bring it to light for other editors to assist in editing? Thanks in advance. Chan Yin Keen | Talk 09:01, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There were probably better ways to bring it to the attention of editors than to put it up for a GA Nom. All that did was get all 3 articles failed by an editor. But at least putting it up over on WikiProject:Malaysia's Collaboration Noms might get it somewhere. Chan Yin Keen | Talk 08:09, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Also, do sign your posts with four tildes (~~~~) next time? Thanks :) Chan Yin Keen | Talk 08:13, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Three failed GAs[edit]

Hi, there. Unfortunately, Multimedia University, Management & Science University, and Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus all failed to attain GA status. I've left reasons why on their respective talk pages, but the overall reason was the same -- they were all pretty short, incomprehensive articles. Let me know if you have any questions. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Tun Mustapha Tower, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.kotakinabalu.com/cmarter.asp?doc=2481&node=2763. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 06:37, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on AIMST University requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
