Soap opera pictures[edit]

Hello, Whereareyougloria. While some of the articles needed updated pictures, such as AJ Chandler, and others still do, not all of them do. This image of Zach Slater is an example of an image that does not need to be discarded. I prefer that image of Zach because it's a promotional image that presents him in a more flattering way than the screenshot image you added does, and because promotional images are usually of better quality than screenshot images. There's no valid reason to go around trading out promotional soap opera images with screenshot soap opera images solely because the screenshot images are more recent (or, in the case of All My Children and One Life to Live characters, are now with a different production company), unless the characters look significantly different at present than they did in the previous images.

With the way that you are familiar with some formatting of Wikipedia articles and uploading images to the site (appropriate WP:Non-free summary and licensing and all that), despite being a fairly new registered editor to the site (having first edited Wikipedia as Whereareyougloria on April 26, 2013), I doubt that you are new to editing here, but I welcome you anyway. Orphaned non-free media (File:Miranda Montgomery All My Children.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Miranda Montgomery All My Children.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:27, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
