Sam Kogan[edit]

Welcome Whatifits! The article was deleted because someone copy and pasted material from a copyrighted source (I think in Kogan's case it was an obituary), so the best way to avoid this is to make sure that a) You use reliable sources to write the article and cite them properly and b) You write the article in your own words. That's it! There's a lot to take in at first, and I never know quite where to start, so if you do have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask them here or on my talk page! Hello Paul, I am in the process of writing a new article on Sam Kogan but it is taking me a while due to me having to familiarize myself with Wikipedia and how it all works - the links you made me aware of have been very useful, thank you for those. In the meantime I'm wondering if I can request the deletion of the original page on Sam Kogan and cite the source of the obituary thus avoiding future deletion....I think it was indeed an obituary from 'The Stage' newspaper. What do you think? Any help is appreciated. Thank you Paul. Whatifits (talk) 13:04, 23 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I can't repost the copyvio on Wikipedia but, if you want to see the contents of the Wikipedia article (which were identical to the contents of the Obituary) I can email it to you. If your "E-mail this user" button is active and will send the email to your address, I will do that for you. Canadian Paul 17:31, 29 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Paul. My email should be active...I'll check it. I'm working on the new article so gathering as many sources as possible. Whatifits (talk) 14:36, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
