Red Link Recovery Live - new data set "Maritime warfare"

Howdy Welsh. I'm fiddling about with a new angle of attack on those pesky red links once again - this time by generating lists of suggestions relevant to particular 'real' WikiProjects. By way of a test, I've run up a set of suggestions related to the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Military_history/Maritime_warfare_task_force which I believe is one of your areas of interest. My target was 1000 links with 85% accuracy, but the silly system's spat out over 2800 results; either the category was larger than I bargained for, or the quality's way off. Time will tell. For interest, Category:Maritime warfare task force articles contains:

  • 15 Sub-categries
  • 27970 pages, 27909 of which are articles (namespace 0)
  • 498642 red links
  • Processing the 50000 longest of these yielded 2873 suggestions

More on this. Thanks in large part to your processing of the first 'Maritime warfare' data set, I've been able to make what I hope are considerable improvements to the process. I've posted up a new set ('Maritime warfare #2' - 568 suggestions) produced with the new mechanism. All being well this should include suggestions missed the first time around, and in general be more accurate than the previous attempt. - TB (talk) 21:12, 19 October 2011 (UTC)

Cheers. Closed this set off today. 49% correct (first set was 43%) - getting better, but still some way to go. I can already see three tweaks and one new feature that'll improve things further; time permitting, I'll probably have mark 3 ready around about the end of the year. - TB (talk) 23:19, 13 November 2011 (UTC)

Arsène Lupin

Hi friend! Just about the "Arsène Lupin" item ; the point is the following sentence "...written by the celebrated mystery writing team of Boileau-Narcejac,..". What does "mystery writing" mean in this context? Thanks a lot in advance! 2.198.0.162 (talk) 06:59, 25 November 2011 (UTC)

Hi, I'm not an expert on this topic, but i read it as meaning ...authorized sequels written by the well-respected group of writers known as Boileau-Narcejac who write crime and mystery novels. Hope that helps. welsh (talk) 07:15, 25 November 2011 (UTC)
