Hi, you need to change your username. See Wikipedia:Username_policy#Real_names. You can do it at Wikipedia:Changing username. Also Wikipedia:LINKSTOAVOID makes exception for blogs of "recognized authority". --Dodo bird (talk) 05:02, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why do I need to change my username? What kind of threat is this? My name is Wayne Pacelle and has been for the past forty plus years. If you have a problem with my name take it up with my parents. What is your problem! WaynePacelle (talk) 06:37, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've already pointed you to the relevant policy. Wikipedia:Username_policy#Real_names.

You should not register under any name that would lead others to assume your account is associated with any person other than yourself.

There is only one Wayne Pacelle notable enough to be on wikipedia, so yes, as far as wikipedia is concerned, he is more important than you. And editing his article under your current username would lead others to assume that you are that person.

If you share the same name as a well known person, or you are a well known person, and you wish to edit under your own name, then your userpage should make it clear whether you actually are the well known person or not.

You have now made that clear although I still think your editing of HSUS and Wayne Pacelle under this username is inappropriate. But I don't really care enough to pursue this further, so feel free to just ignore me. Happy editing. --Dodo bird (talk) 10:04, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Are you User:Trueanimalcaring by any chance? You have strikingly similar editing patterns.--Dodo bird (talk) 10:09, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Member Dodo bird states HSUS president is more important than other human beings

How dare you! You are no gentleman and obviously have a self-serving relationship with HSUS. Your judgment is obviously faulty at best and you need to check yourself before threatening people. You have no place on Wikipedia and should cancel your account immediately. Read my words: MY NAME IS WAYNE PACELLE. Let me throw some real knowledge your way: THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF INDIVIDUALS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD WITH THE BIRTH NAME WAYNE PACELLE. This statement may be difficult for you to grasp since your views are one sided. Never the less it is true.

I am outraged by your quip words stating one individual is more important than another! You have shown your true colours and are an extremely offensive Wikipedia member. The attitudes you represent have no place in this community. I urge you to cancel your account immediately and remove all of your slanted contributions.

I do not hide my true identity as you have. Good day. WaynePacelle (talk) 21:18, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gentlemen. As an administrator, could I offer some advice? It is somewhat a co-incidence that the majority of User:WaynePacelle's contributions are to the HSUS Wayne Pacelle and related articles. Its not difficult to understand where suspicions might arise. But co-incidences do happen. Whats important is that we don't have people representing themselves as notable people that they are not. User:WaynePacelle has now made it perfectly clear he is not the HSUS CEO, but instead a animal loving person with the same name. So long as that remains clearly displayed on his userpage, then there I suggest we all WP:AGF and let this go. In return, User:WaynePacelle, it would be helpful if you could tone down the personal comments a little, please remember WP:NPA. Thanks. Rockpocket 00:58, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Rockpocket. I appreciate your thoughts and attempt at resolving this issue. I have no issue with letting this go and only ask Dodo bird to do the same. I did fell I was under attack from the user and expressed my thoughts as such. Though I am not the CEO of HSUS I do share the same name as him. Yes it may seem strange yet it is the truth. I am a good man with knowledge to share on Wikipedia and look forward to continuing to do so. Thank you again for stepping in and hopefully there are no worries after this time. Idea[edit]

Would you be willing to provide a copy of some sort of identification via our secure and private e-mail service OTRS? Whatever you send will only even be seen by one or two trusted volunteers. I think this would a simple solution and will save you the headache of having people complain on your userpage. John Reaves 22:38, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi John. I do apologize for the late response. I experienced a death in the family which kept me from being online for quite some time. I appreciate your concern but I don’t believe there is a problem. I have not received any personal complaints/concerns so there are no issues here. And in asking for my personal information I am very concerned by your request. What are you looking for? My driver license? My SSN card? Maybe credit card numbers? I will be more than happy to share my personal credentials once the parties I am sending this to send their information. Once their personal information is researched and confirmed I will forward my personal information. As you know this is a fair request on my part. If you are requesting my personal information I should expect the same in return. Please forward the personal identity information of the persons reviewing my questioned identity so I can ensure my safety. I look forward to this information and hope to resolve this issue soon. Thank you.WaynePacelle (talk) 08:47, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
