I love messages! Even if you just want to say hi, I'd love to hear from you. If it's not apparent enough from my username that I love classical music...feel free to talk over Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, ETC, and I'll be very pleased to chat with you about it. Click here to post a new message. I'll always reply on your talk page, unless you don't have a username, so unless you want to have to keep checking back here, it would be a good idea to sign your messages using four tildes (~~~~). Please add new comments at the bottom with a relevant message heading. I archive every 30 message headings...archived talk can be found at the right. And thanks for talking to me!

Thanks to Sango for the design of the archive table, etc. and to Tito for the beautiful colors of this and my userpage. Thanks, guys!

Update: If you are waiting for a reply from me and it's been more than a month, please leave another note, because it's extremely likely that I forgot to reply. Thanks!--ViolinGirl 00:46, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the welcome

No problem. By the way, I'm honored to have your vote of confidence in the Esperanza elections, even if it had to be discounted. :) Cheers, Sango123 (talk) 17:14, 17 December 2005 (UTC)

Hey, thanks! I'm sure you'd make a great Advisory Council member if you ran. ;-) Regards, Sango123 (talk) 20:09, 17 December 2005 (UTC)

Thank you

Wow. This is the first time I am actually paying attention to this site and I am starting to love it! I came across this site on occasion but I am highly amused how one article has so many links, you can end up lost forever on wikipedia learning new things with every single click. Thank you for leaving me a message and if I have any questions, I shall come to you. Thank you and have a wonderful day! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Duckie21 (talkcontribs)

Different Welcomes

A few month ago I joined the German Wikipedia. Now it was the English Wiki's time and it was/is a totally different experience - starting with a personal welcome.
If only it would be possible to have one user-page, talk-page, watchlist for both of them. Is there a place where this already has been discussed? BTW I have difficulties in finding discussions concerning gerenal Wikipedia related problems. greetings --Space-Marine 01:01, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

You're welcome

You're welcome :-) Akamad 02:01, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

It was kind of you to greet me

But I won't be staying...

I posted an article entitled "PNAC 101 - Rise of the Neocons" that was well-documented with mainstream media and credible sources and the illustrious Jeffrey O. Gustafson had a bug up his ass and deleted it, claiming it was "Nonsense". I've gotten rave reviews for my research whenever I've posted it elsewhere and I suspect Mr. Gustafson was playing partisan politics. That being the case, I'll go play in friendlier and less biased pastures.

In case you're curious, this is what he considered "nonsense"....

Khojaly tragedy

I saw your message on RedWolf24's talk page. He's away at the moment, so I deleted the page for you. Always happy to help! Sam Korn 19:56, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

Both Thue and I blocked it (no personal pronouns for vandals ;=)). Thanks for the heads-up; there are a lot of them coming through right now... Sam Korn 20:02, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

I'm not sure I can do anything about that at the moment. Keep an eye out on the accounts and if anything suspicious pops up, leave me a message. FireFox 20:36, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

Thank you for the warm welcome

It was very nice of you to send me that welcome greeting. I've gotten my feet wet at the Danish Wikipedia, so I'm no longer that intimidated by writing for an Encyclopedia. For now I'll focus on Wikimedia Commons, since it's a lot less initimidating to post photos. And my work is much more required at the Danish site, a huge majority of the articles in the Danish Wikipedia are simple stubs. Kim Bach 21:06, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

An Exceptional Newcomer award for an exceptional newcomer
Hi. I'm afraid that page doesn't fall under Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, so it needs to go to AfD -- "Article for deletion". This is unfortunately one of Wikipedia's least attractive sides... I have to go to bed now, otherwise I'd make the nomination myself, but you will find WP:AFD and WP:GAFD helpful. May I just congratulate you on how well you've begun your time at Wikipedia, and give you this Exceptional Newcomer award. Well done! Sam Korn 22:42, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

Babel

Thanks so much for the RAOK and your kind words! :D And this might sound random, but may I ask if you copy and paste your customized signature, or have you set it in your preferences? Cheers, Sango123 (talk) 00:03, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

Welcome

I was just wondering since you sometimes sign with only a link to your userpage. As for the timestamp problem, try the following:

  1. Install the Firefox signature extension.
  2. Close and restart Firefox.
  3. Remove your signature and timestamp from your welcome message.
  4. Right click the 'Signature' icon in the lower right of your screen and choose 'Options'.
  5. Create a new signature on your extension (name it 'Welcome') and type in the blue text under 'Value'.
     --~~~~
  6. Click OK (one time for both windows).
  7. Go to a textbox, right click, go to 'Insert Signature', and choose 'Welcome'.

That'll give you your welcome message and the exact time you sent it. Sango123 (talk) 00:43, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

No problem. ;-) Sango123 (talk) 01:15, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

Blocking user

Thanks. There seems to be a user who has a grudge against me - stalking me and blanking my userpage! FireFox 16:32, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

Haha, thanks! :) Yeah, whacking vandals is fun. You should do it sometimes! Just come on over to WP:CVU to do it. By the way, Beethoven's String Quartet 131 is my favorite... :) Titoxd(?!? - help us) 22:29, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
Oh, there is a lot that non-admins can do! You need to be quick on your feet, though. ;) And no, it was actually quite easy to find what you had written, you just need to look at the page's history and click on the diff... quite a handy feature, if you ask. ;) As to how to make headers? There are several ways to do it:
  1. In a talk page, you can click on the + tab at the top, next to Edit this page.
  2. In any page, you can go to the bottom section, click on "edit", and then type ==Header== or something to that effect. The more "=" you have, the lower-level the header is.
I know, it took me a while to figure out WikiSyntax completely, but once I had it, it is quite simple. You're welcome to ask me any questions on my talk page, by the way. And no, I wasn't talking about a symphony, but rather a string quartet... but the Eroica symphony is nice too. Titoxd(?!? - help us) 00:07, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
I went and looked, and you're right... it isn't No. 131, it is No. 14, Opus 131... my mistake! Titoxd(?!? - help us) 00:16, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
Oh, he's old... :P
Ok, as for reverting vandalism. It is actually quite easy, and we need all the hands we can get. First off, you can start by looking at the articles on your watchlist. Click on the diff links for articles that interest you, and review the last contribution. If it seems ok, then leave it. If it is a "Wikipedia suckz, I am linux hax0r!", go ahead and revert it. The complete instructions are on the Wikipedia:Revert page, but in brief, what you do is:
  1. Click on the date and time of the last good edit
  2. Click on the "edit this page" link
  3. If you get the "This is an old revision" warning, keep going. It means that you're doing it right.
  4. Click on the "Save page" button, using an edit summary such as "rvv" (Wikipedia jargon for "Reverted vandalism")
  5. Keep looking for vandals. If you see that a certain user is causing a lot of trouble, list him on Vandalism in progress or on the Administrator intervention page.
  6. Have fun whacking vandals! Titoxd(?!? - help us) 00:30, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
That's good. :) Whenever you need a vandal blocked, you can ask me too, I'm an admin. If you whack enough vandals, you'll be one soon enough! ;) Titoxd(?!? - help us) 00:50, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

thanks so much

thanks for the welcome! it was nice to see a friendly message. so thanks! (again) Happy Holidays life.is.goodLife.is.good 00:29, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

What do you think?

Hi ViolinGirl, what do you think of Jim Brickman? He's one of my favorites. Also who can forget the great Bonnie Tyler, < big sarcastic smile :-D > lol. P.S. have fun whacking vandals! KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 20:32, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

I think he writes some of the most beautiful pieces, I've ever had the pleasure to listen to. I strongly recommend that he give his work a good listen :-D. The Bonnie Tyler was a spoof on Classical 80's music. Just a little joke :-D. KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 23:02, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

Thank you for making me feel welcome here!

Just a personal thanks for welcoming me to the site. I honestly have absolutely no clue how anything works here, so I may ask for help now and then if I can't find answers elsewhere... I've even had trouble just typing this! Once again, thank you for the message. The smallest things make a huge difference. Zmon1 20:39, 20 December 2005 (UTC)Zmon1Zmon1 20:39, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

Thanks, and a question

Thanks for the welcoming! Also I need some help with this Babel thing. How do I implement it on my page and how do I use one? YesManJr 21:17, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

Never mind, worked it out. YesManJr 22:01, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

User page

Hey, no problem. :) You're welcome to modify it at will, to fit your style, I just picked the colors on your signature. If you want to add it to this page (your user talk), tell me, all right? Titoxd(?!? - help us) 22:41, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

Userboxes

Sure! Feel free to take any you'd like. I got most of them from other Wikipedians anyway. ;·) --¿ WhyBeNormal ? 02:13, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

Lance

No edits have been made from any of the accounts thus far, so it could be a new user testing out different usernames for all we know. Keep an eye on them if you'd like, and if you spot anything suspicious, please leave a note on my talk page or at WP:AIV. Thanks! :) Sango123 (talk) 03:03, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

Languages

Thanks for that

thanks, yeah I speak all of those....but not at all in any fluent way !!! I would love to learn more though! I have a problem with English! I keep repeating repeating words!!......that was so bad, i know Ciriii 19:54, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

Language and Music.....

That sounds cool......do it.......I want to learn to play music...though the bagpipes, does that count as classical???? lol :) Ciriii 17:14, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

  • well I certainly don't look hard..hehe !!! :D But the bagpipes do...besides, they're do dear (expensive..there's that localness (i wonder if there's an article in that anywhere....!) Anyway, i do have something to ask....I read the rules on original research several times, and maybe i am stupid, but I confused myself more...maybe you could say it in more vernacular!! or maybe that's the problem..less!! You decide! ..example..I have a degree in history, does that make me a legitimate historian and would work i have published be considered biased? or if I looked up something in a book and thought, "ooh i should say that", is that original research....I am now all of a fluster...hehe, think i am missing the point..see? thanks, Ciriii 22:09, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
  • THANKS, yeah, that really helped...why doesn't it just say that!! So....you like the bagpipes, the guy/girl playing the bagpipes or both..., lol, no I'm kidding!! thanks alot ! xx Ciriii 23:22, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
