The Austrian Language debate[edit]

Collectively we may have found a compromising solution to this whole debacle. As you know, the language is wikilinked to direct readers to the respective "language" article. The issue is labelling Austrian German, or German etc. So what we have thought is to label Germany as 'German' with the wikilink directing to German language article; and Austria also labelled as 'German' but using a the wikilink to direct to Austrian German article. Both would still show as 'German' in the table, with the only difference being where the link directs to. The other thing is the 1971, 1996, 2003, and 2012 entries - they are all in dialects (as established by WT:LANG), so they would now be labelled as 'German' directing to Austrian German, with a footnote explaining the dialect being used.
