NowCommons: Image:Oo (1).jpg[edit]

Image:Oo (1).jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:Image:John Bell-Eagle slayer,1851.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[Image:John Bell-Eagle slayer,1851.jpg]]. I'll do what I can today to support your new article, but I have severe arthritis today and may have to stop and do a bit more tomorrow. All done now - I hope. There was a plagiarism issue on the article page which I sorted out by re-writing that section in my own words and citing the source next to it - but you may wish to look over it, just to check that I haven't changed the meaning of anything. I found some images at Geograph (see link at bottom of article page), but the article certainly needs better images than that. If you have connections in Wales, maybe someone can take some closeup photos of a J.E. Thomas statue and upload it to Commons. There may be more images hidden on Wiki Commons, perhaps under the name of the subject of the sculpture, but not attributed to J.E. Thomas. I think the article needs a lot more online sources, though. If you happen to find any and if you're in a hurry, you can just stick them in the "External links" section and let me know - I'll add them in if you like - or you can use the cite gadget (go to "my preferences", then "edit").--Storye book (talk) 12:24, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I will look into it, a design for Somerleyton Village by John Thomas, appeared on last weeks Antiques Roadshow,at Somerleyton Hall, the owner came all the way up from Devon. I think you've done fantastic work, especially on the John Evan Thomas page, exceptional. Is there anyway to re-enter the information on a new page without the birth dates in the title, the only way I could create a seperate page. The page could be moved later, perhaps to "John Evan Thomas (Sculptor)" - but I recommend leaving it for a week or so until the article has had its chance to appear in the "Did You Know" section on the front page. If it does, then both you and I should get a credit for that - not bad, eh? The page has been nominated, so we now have to wait to see whether it gets chosen. On the John Evan Thomas talk page, someone has suggested moving it to John Evan Thomas (Welsh sculptor), to differentiate him from the other guy a little more. Please could you kindly add your own view to the talk page, so we can sort it out and maybe move the page to a better title? Thanks.
