Editing style[edit]

Can I ask if you're using a computer program to apply grammar edits? I can't otherwise understand why you'd change the Irish word poc to the uppercase POC, in a sentence that mentions the words poc and puc. It's also inappropriate to rephrase direct spoken quotations from people, as you were doing at the file sharing article. --Lord Belbury (talk) 10:19, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I am using a computer program to apply grammar edits,Lord Belbury. I usually use the program very carefully, and make sure not to change quotes or words which seem different like the Irish word mentioned. I did notice the error but didn't know how to undo it since I'm still new to editing. I will see to it that I don't make any mistakes as such.Vial of Power (talk) 15:03, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome to use any tools that help you to contribute, but you do need to understand the suggestions that your software is making, and know when to reject them as incorrect.

Among other problems, your edit to the ice hockey article introduced the sentence Within certain restrictions, players may redirect the puck to any part of their body. Did you read that and agree with the software that it was an improvement on the original "with any part of their body", read it and not know whether it was better or worse, or approve some of the software's suggestions without reading them? --Lord Belbury (talk) 15:28, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
