2019–20 Juventus F.C. season

I love when people try to tell me how things have been done on Italian football season articles for years when I’ve been doing them for ten years and know for a fact that they were never done that way. Italia2006 (talk) 21:39, 17 January 2020 (UTC)

@Italia2006: Hey. The reason for his introducing a bunch of random spaces I don't know, but they're obviously not needed, but the part of the edit with regards to overlinking is fine and why do you not also think Perin, Mandzukic and Kwang-song don't belong in "Players transferred out during the season"? Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 22:15, 17 January 2020 (UTC)
Let me clarify. I don't believe Mandzukic et al belong in the appearances and goals section when they've produced neither, we usually put them at the end of the "squad information" table under the heading "Players transferred during the season". I don't care about the overlinking, but I definitely care about the spaces because they make no sense and I object to someone trying to claim that that's the way it's always been done when that's clearly not the case. Italia2006 (talk) 22:22, 17 January 2020 (UTC)
@Italia2006: That seems reasonable to me. Remove from the disciplinary record too on that basis. I see there are still a couple players listed in "Appearances and goals" with neither, but realize there is still time for them to do so, but by the end of the season if they still have none they should also be removed on that precedent, or just have them removed until they do so? Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 22:30, 17 January 2020 (UTC)
Leave till the end of the season, then if they've made neither we remove. Italia2006 (talk) 22:31, 17 January 2020 (UTC)
@Italia2006: Ok sounds good - I'll revert back the edit for the excess spaces and the players on that basis. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 22:37, 17 January 2020 (UTC)
Appreciate it, but already done actually. Cheers, as always Italia2006 (talk) 22:38, 17 January 2020 (UTC)
@Italia2006: Yup, just went and it was done - just watch your 3RRs eh don't want to give them a reason to block you, even if you are technically in the right. I'll keep a closer eye on the article for this. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 22:39, 17 January 2020 (UTC)
I appreciate it, and yes you're absolutely right. Italia2006 (talk) 22:41, 17 January 2020 (UTC)

Buffalo family

Hi, Vaselineeeeeeee

Thanks for the help. I don't have much access to Canadian mafia news articles. Do you know who is running the Papalia family today? Or who took over the old Bordonaro family?

Thanks again --Vic49 (talk) 01:44, 20 January 2020 (UTC)

@Vic49: Thanks for the note. Sources for the Papalia family are a lot harder to come by than the Musitanos or the Luppinos who have been in the news a lot recently. It is possible that the Papalia family is decimated after the deaths of the Papalia brothers et al. I don't have Iced: The Story of Organized Crime in Canada (although it usually has decent page previews), but I do have The Enforcer:Johnny Pops Papalia, A Life and Death in the Mafia (which I don't think speculates who is running the family now) and Mafia Inc.: The Long, Bloody Reign of Canada's Sicilian Clan that relates to the Rizzutos (Vito's son Leonardo is suspected of running the family now), if you find anything in a limited page preview that you'd like me to look up. Regards, Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 01:59, 20 January 2020 (UTC)
@Vaselineeeeeeee: Hi, I found this it is interesting. Its about the Volpe brothers and Harry Bordonaro (an attorney) and his father Calogero Bordonaro. I think Paul Volpe was made into the Buffalo family and then took over the old Bordonaro family when Calogero Bordonaro retired. Then Volpe began moving into Toronto rackets.
@Vic49: Thanks for the source - I added it to his page to reference his birth date and brothers' involvement. The source though only really talks about phone calls made to one another - he can't really speculate that Volpe took over Bordonaro from this without it being original research. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 20:51, 20 January 2020 (UTC)
@Vaselineeeeeeee: I understand. Do you have Mob Mistress, by James Dubro (1988) I'm trying to view page - Page 21. --Vic49 (talk) 21:18, 20 January 2020 (UTC)
Unfortunately, no, the only mob books I currently have are the ones I mentioned. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 23:06, 20 January 2020 (UTC)

Films section

You might be able to get a quicker response for your GA nominations for those 2 films if you move them to the Films sections. You put them in the drama section which might slow it down. The Godfather can be switched right away, though it might be an idea to wait until after the end of Oscars week in February before transfering The Irishman to the Films sections. CodexJustin (talk) 16:27, 21 January 2020 (UTC)

Thanks, I just decided to do both - let's see what happens. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 16:47, 21 January 2020 (UTC)

Ori Spado

@vaselelineee This is a rep for Mr. Ori Spado. Cited content was added to the Colombo crime family article today in regard to Mr. Spado, which you removed. We would like to know why factual information including two references from two reputable print publications were removed. Hi, thanks for reaching out. I initially removed the info because considering the article you edited was the "Colombo crime family", and not a biography on Spado, the promotion of his book is not relevant to the article. Please see WP:PROMO. I've re-added some of your cited info, but only left the relevant parts to the article—that he was among those indicted. Regards, Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 03:38, 13 February 2020 (UTC)

Salvatore Todaro

Good to hear. I would place that more under "it's going to be fixed when Tim is finished building a new standalone Porrello family article - so nothing to worry about for the moment", rather than needing to do a full revert of my minor edit... but no big deal in the grand scheme of things. Mafia in Film

Thank you for your kind words and support, much appreciated! Now that you have mentioned it, the article on cinematic depictions must be a better place for information I found. There were other things that I wanted to mentioned that seem that a little-off topic like why there were no Mafia films in Italy under the Fascist era-namely that it did not really fit into the prevailing aesthetic of Fascist cinema, namely the telefoni bianchi films. The "white telephone films" were romantic comedies set in an upper-class milieu with a lot of musical numbers. These films were not expressly political, but there is a political message to them, namely that life in Fascist Italy was wonderful with the biggest problem being romantic misunderstandings which were always resolved happily by the final reel. Contrary to what most people think, the vast majority of films in Nazi Germany were likewise romantic musical comedies with again the same message that life in Third Reich was really wonderful, through the German films differed from the Italian films in that usually had a middle class rather than upper class settling. Getting back to Italian films, the subject of Mafia really didn't fit into the glossy "white telephone films", which is why the subject was ignored. After World War II, when there was a real reaction against the "white telephone films" and Italian film-makers got into the subject of neorealism with stories about ordinary people struggling to survive after the devastation of the war. In that context, the subject of the Mafia could be mentioned. I thought that should be mentioned, but all seemed off-topic. I'll look into a suggestion of creating an article about Italian gangster films, through I might favor organised crime in general, so I can bring in a modern classic like Gomorrah. The cinema democratico films dealing with the Camorra like Gomorrah are basically the same as the dealing with the Mafia with the difference being is that there are set on different sides of the strait of Messina. The latter-day Italian gangster films differ from the American ones in their strong sense of doom and fatalism, as suggest that groups like the Camorra and the Mafia are too deeply rooted in society to be taken out. I just need more material to bring up an article-I hate those annoying tags saying this article mostly uses one source. Thank you for your help and feedback and all your kind words! Much appreciated! Cheers!--A.S. Brown (talk) 04:52, 27 February 2020 (UTC)

@A.S. Brown: I think you've done a good job of staying on topic at the Sicilian Mafia page, relating the films back to how mafiosi or the organization are depicted in various films. I'm not an expert on the various genres of film, but there is also Poliziotteschi which may be of interest. Yes, if you want to make the info broader, a new article is probably not necessary to make as we already have Mafia film. This article mentions some popular Italian films, however its focus is really on the American Mafia. This could be fixed by adding ==American Mafia==, ==Sicilian Mafia==, ==Camorra==, etc headings. Perhaps your additions at Sicilian Mafia are getting a bit too long for the main page, but perhaps a lot of this info can be moved to Mafia film, with the main bits and a link to the rest of the info at the main page? Regards, Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 15:06, 27 February 2020 (UTC)
Dear Vaselineeeeeeee, I think your'e right. I think material should go to the Mafia film (which would benefit from being less American-centric). As an amateur historian, it does interests me how perceptions of the Mafia, both in Sicily and in the rest of Italy changed over time from being the honorable men who are portrayed as sort of Italian version of the "noble savage" to the more recent image of the ruthless and seemingly invincible "octopus" organization with its tentacles into everything. Thank you for your advice and kind words, which are much appreciated! --A.S. Brown (talk) 02:52, 28 February 2020 (UTC)

Excuse me

Under what part of WP:OR don't you understand for that regional section in the Serie A seasonal pages because that is what they are, basic WP:OR and something that no one would be interested in keeping. HawkAussie (talk) 23:31, 2 March 2020 (UTC)

It's not OR that each of those team's is associated with a city which are located in one of 20 regions in Italy. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 23:33, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
But it's not sourced and everything has to be sourced. HawkAussie (talk) 23:36, 2 March 2020 (UTC)

Coppa Italia

In my opinion, a significant change has been made to the Coppa Italia article. The list of champions was replaced by a much longer list of every final (single and double legs), which has made the new section too big and has included too much detail. The Coppa Italia is a tournament, not just a final. I would like to know if I am seeing this right, or if you agree with the original edit. I hope a discussion is started (and not an edit war) on this matter.BumbleBum (talk) 01:45, 6 March 2020 (UTC)

@BumbleBum: Yes, I see that - personally I think the edit is fine as it gives a bit more context to the wins without it being too much, similar to what we have at Supercoppa Italiana. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 02:04, 6 March 2020 (UTC)
I see your point, but Supercoppa Italiana is a one-off game, while Coppa Italia is a tournament. Tournament pages like UEFA Champions League, NHL Playoffs, NBA Playoffs and NFL Playoffs don't list all the finalists, champions yes. The tournament pages I have listed usually have separate pages for their Finals. I might suggest that the editor create a Super Coppa Finals page.BumbleBum (talk) 03:03, 8 March 2020 (UTC)

De Rossi

Copied from L'Eremita talk page: Hi. The user adding the Boca Juniors title to Daniele De Rossi's page has cited [1] at several projects, but I think we can agree this is not an official source and seems like his club is saying this as a sort of unofficial "tribute" to him. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 03:28, 9 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi. Of course I agree about that. --L'Eremita (Il Romitorio) 09:28, 9 March 2020 (UTC)
@L'Eremita: What do you think about this source [2]? Also @Messirulez: for input. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 15:54, 9 March 2020 (UTC)

This is a tricky one...at first, I would be inclined to say no, as he retired in January 2020, so that was during the transfer window, and usually if a player leaves in January and the team win the league title later that year, then they don't receive a medal (an exception was Ronaldinho with Milan). However, this article from La Repubblica seems to suggest that the Argentine press have confirmed that he did win the league title, which leads me to believe that he should in fact be credited with it, and it is a better source in my opinion. I hope that helps! Best regards, Messirulez (talk) 16:07, 9 March 2020 (UTC)

Here is the original article from Olé as well! Best, Messirulez (talk) 16:09, 9 March 2020 (UTC)
The football-italia.net source and the Italian-language sources, such as Repubblica.it, ANSA.it and Goal.com/it, only mention an implicit statement by the Argentine newspaper Olé. I continue to think it's just a "tribute" to him despite the retirement, there are no relevant sources proving De Rossi won the title. --L'Eremita (Il Romitorio) 16:10, 9 March 2020 (UTC)
@L'Eremita: I have added the link to the original article by Olé above if that helps, and I speak Spanish as well as Italian and English, so I can verify that the translations in Football Italia and La Repubblica accurate. Best, Messirulez (talk) 16:20, 9 March 2020 (UTC)
I've read that, it says: Jugó cinco partidos y, aunque ya no esté, se consagró con ¡un 100 por ciento! en los quites. (He played five games and, although he is gone, he consecrated with 100 percent!) IMHO, the statement is not very clear and the article is not a reliable source, we need an official Argentine reference (for example, an AFA statement). --L'Eremita (Il Romitorio) 16:32, 9 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi Vaselineeeeeeee, I'm here to ask you about the "American mobsters of Italian descent" category. I removed this category on the Johnny Torrio page, because I thought it wasn't for this page. Is this category also used for the Italian emigrants to the United States, or only for mobsters born in the United States of Italian descent?

Saluti, Dipascz (talk) 18:52, 18 March 2020 (UTC)

@Dipascz: Thanks for reaching out. Given that Italian citizenship was forfeited when acquiring American citizenship during that time, I think that the category is permissible. Strike938 (talk) 15:46, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

@Strike938: Thanks for reaching out. I removed it because 1. it wasn't sourced, 2. although Franzese may be a first hand account, he in himself is not a reliable source, and 3. it doesn't seem like the place for this information. This information about Franzese is added directly at the Hoffa page in the appropriate section at Jimmy Hoffa#Other accounts and speculation. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 15:50, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

But the fact that no one truly know and all the claims listed is the opinion madr by several other people made me to add franzese's claim too...and one more thing , can you please elaborate more on the actual "source" thing , because VladTV is just about to get 4M subs on youtube , so i think the interview of mike franzese can be taken as a claim... Strike938 (talk) 19:09, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

@Strike938: YouTube is generally not considered a reliable source per WP:YOUTUBE. The way you properly format a source is given at the end of the paragraph talking about Franzese on the Hoffa link I gave above. I don't think Franzese's comment is necessary to include at the book's page given we are talking about published resources such as the Tonelli and Goldsmith pieces. Hey man, just saw you nominated and got The Godfather passed for GA, which is solid. I re-wrote and sourced the majority of the article (aside from the plot) and probably should have nominated it sooner myself. I would've liked a heads up, as per the GA nominating instructions. IABotManagementConsole [1.1]

Hi Vaselineeeeeeee - the IABotManagementConsole [1.1] tool you used created a LOT of edits in Vaughan and Richmond Hill. When I vetted its edits for York Region (just 3, thank goodness!) I found that two of the URLs it adjusted are still working. The third one was actually a bad/old URL, but it was for information about the Regional Council, so there is a current website & URL for the current Council.

My point is, I wouldn't advise using IABotManagementConsole [1.1]. I think it's failing to pick up active URLs, and in some cases there are newer, active URLs for current information. The reasoning behind this is because they may be working now, but we want to ensure that our readers will still have access to them in the future if they ever do go dead (which stats can refs often do). This is actually also a GA recommendation—not saying these articles are near GA—just that it is good practice. I'm sure the bot makes some mistakes, but I still think it is a beneficial tool to use. A war against my job?

Dude, did you take me for a fool? I have been working on Wikipedia for 11 years, look at my contributions. I'm trying to do for Money Heist what already exists for other TV series much less known than this. I spend time and IQ to work and then a "television users" with a simple click start an edit war, but I certainly don't want to be at this game. I love you and you are also nice to me, but you should help me rather than go against me. --Kasper2006 (talk) 05:25, 19 April 2020 (UTC)

@Kasper2006: I'd have hoped you didn't take the rv at the template the wrong way. See Talk:List of Money Heist episodes#Summaries and split where I had split the episodes into individual season articles, that also got reverted by Brojam. I saw he gave you the guides on his talk page to go through. He is right in this case that it does not merit a split given the size of the article, and the content is virtually identical as it was on the main page. Cast members and other things

I thought you were happy with my job and instead it seems not Three things. 1) Why did you delete me cast members from above in the template, the other two that you deleted me (soundtrack you put it in the row and awards because it was deleted), its could have logic, but this has no reason not to stay in the footer template: 2) We cannot wait for sgeureka to wake up from his lethargy, if I am going to create the pages of the characters I can do it, it is absolutely not true that they are copied from the draft of sgeureka because its are made with a professional setting including infobox with photos, new notes, external links and footer template. 3) It is not that by chance, after those who roll back to you, now you too are not realizing the immense popularity (in many countries it is the TV series number one) that is having La casa di papel in the world and therefore of attention it deserves on Wikipedia? Because we do Wikipedia for users who use it not for the ego of possible bureaucratic nerds. Kind regards. --Kasper2006 (talk) 04:36, 20 April 2020 (UTC)

@Kasper2006: I didn't delete them from the template, just shifted the links. I see where you're coming from, but while I see your good intentions, I don't necessarily support everything you're doing. The cast page you made I still really think should've been waited to be created as sgeureka already had the draft that was about ready to publish. Sure, Money Heist is very popular right now, but that doesn't mean we should go and create everything in sight when it is essentially the same info from the main article. If you have other prose to go along with some of these, I suggest you create drafts or do it in your sandbox so all the info is there before you publish. I would advise not making any other character articles at the moment. Not every character needs its own page especially when the cast article is brought up to speed, such that I also don't think the Arturo article is needed. Hello, you reverted my edit on my Frank Gallo due to it not "having a neutral point of view". I'd like to say that my intention was to due the exact opposite, it was to simply provide information on other sources who disagree about Sheeran's involvement, in contrast to the sources already provided who agree that Sheeran was involved. With your agreement I'd like to revert your revert and if you don't agree, I'd like to know why, and would be happy to discuss any changes you would like to make to my edit before being reverted, thanks. --Kwwhit5531 (talk) 18:14, 6 May 2020 (UTC)

@Kwwhit5531: Thanks for reaching out. There were several issues with your edit at JOE Gallo. One is that "alleged" involvement of Frank Sheeran definitely does not merit its own section per WP:UNDUE, and information about Hoffa is also undue given this is more related to Sheeran. We are only concerned with information pertaining to Gallo. Also some of those sources did not even mention Sheeran. I added some of the info back pertaining to the truthfulness of Sheeran's claim of murdering Gallo with attribution to the Sheeran article. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 19:42, 6 May 2020 (UTC)

I checked your link and found only a few discussions dated 2012 (eight years ago!) and the only mentioned reason why Transfermarkt is considered not reliable is that it is user-made that is false. On the contrary of Wikipedia and, for instance, Discogs, on Transfermarkt modifications are approved BEFORE publication and not after, by selected datascouts. It is a German site, after all. There are more recent and circumstanced reasons that I could read or it is a decision no more discussed? Thank you again.--Tre di tre (talk) 19:33, 30 June 2020 (UTC)

We know Tony Soprano had influence in Walter White because Vince Gilligan has said so, so if no one who had a hand in making The Sopranos can corroborate this, then the critics/people who do say that Oz "paved the way" for The Sopranos really have no substantive basis for saying so. Re: The Godfather

Hey @Vaselineeeeeeee, pleased to e-meet ya! First off - apologies if I'm doing this wrong. First time editing a User:Talk page! So be patient with me!! :-D

Reason I'm getting in touch is you reverted a recent edit of mine that included John Cazale in the list of actors in The Godfather ensemble. The reason you gave for removing Cazale is that he didn't appear on the poster block. This seems a little arbitrary to me because Poster blocks change over time and, even during the original theatrical release, aren't uniform across territories, particularly not back in the 19070s!! And, even if they were, the definition of "ensemble" is not based on poster blocks.

With regards to Poster Blocks, Apocalypse Now, for example, doesn't list any actors on its poster block (and famously didn't have credits) yet actors are still listed on its Wiki page. The more recent theatrical releases of The Godfather had John's name on the poster block.

As for "ensembles", the Wikipedia definition is that an ensemble "comprises multiple principal actors and performers who are typically assigned roughly equal amounts of screen time". Poster blocks or credits aren't prerequisites for inclusion in an ensemble. Specifically in this instance, John Cazale plays one of Vito's three sons and his role is central to the story. He's broadly accepted as being one of the greatest character actors of all time, and he had quite a share of screen time, so to exclude his name from the ensemble, particularly on the basis of the poster block, is arbitrary.

Unless, of course, there's a specific Wiki rule stating that appearance in a poster block is requisite for appearing in an ensemble. Is there such a rule? If not, why not just include him? What does it hurt?

Finally - apologies again if this is done incorrectly! Let me know what to change and I'll get better!! Cheers, omahonyjason

Omahonyjason (talk) 18:49, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

@Omahonyjason: Thanks for the note, just make sure a new message is placed at the bottom of the talk page. Your rationale is fair, but I still believe we should go with the poster block. That is how we determine who is listed in "starring" in the infobox, and thereby should be consistent for the starring list in the lead. I also changed the "ensemble" wording to "starring", in that case. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 19:00, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
@Vaselineeeeeeee:

At the bottom of the page, eh? I did not know that!! Thanks for the heads up. Or, I suppose, heads down!! :) Thanks for the change from "ensemble" to "starring", think that makes it much clearer. And appreciate the reply! Omahonyjason (talk) 19:26, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

List of Gomorrah episodes

I edited the plot summaries with reference to Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Writing_about_fiction and after reading Wikipedia:How_to_write_a_plot_summary. I've also searched around https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Contents and past discussions, and I can't see any information or decision anywhere suggesting that plot summaries should not have paragraphs.

I divided these summaries into manageable paras because the plots of these episodes are complex, and have already been quite well condensed, with much detail omitted. But the length of the summaries is such that paragraph breaks are required to break up each summary into readable chunks. Currently, with no paragraphs, most of the summaries are very difficult to read.

If I'm missing something, please enlighten me, otherwise I'm minded to revert your edit.

Centrepull (talk) 16:46, 2 September 2020 (UTC)

@Centrepull: Thanks for the note. Those links you used are primarily guides for film plot writing. Per MOS:TVPLOT summaries should be about 200 words. I have disagreed with users on this guide in the past, but it should be used when it can be used. Since that is a small amount of words, paragraphs need not be used. That is why mention of paragraphs are not explicitly written in the guide. Look at literally any popular show plot summaries and you will not see paragraphs. The Gomorrah summaries are a little long, perhaps rightfully so in some instances, and perhaps not in others, but I still think we should not use paragraphs as they are never used for tv plots as they are supposed to be short and may also encourage longer summaries. North Atlantic Refinery redirect

Seems to me that the name of a company is the notable subject for an entry, with the name of the refinery being the subservient subject that should be mentioned in the company's entry. Lexicon (talk) 18:05, 7 October 2020 (UTC)

@Lexicon: I was debating whether to redirect the company or the oil refinery because it seems that the only refinery the company operates is the one in Come By Chance. I don't think we need both because the content on both the pages were pretty much identical. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 18:07, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
You're right, you definitely don't need both. I was saying that I think a company is more notable to be the subject of an article than one of its (even if it's its only) refinery. Additionally, the article says the refinery will be closing, which means there's an article for a [soon to be] closed refinery but not for the company that owns it and runs gas stations/convenience stores. Anyway, I don't have any stake in this (I showed up because I got a notice about the company's logo being orphaned, but I don't see how I was involved in it), I just thought the wrong article was being redirected and didn't want to re-redirect it without discussing it with you. Lexicon (talk) 18:14, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
@Lexicon: Yes, thanks for the note. I think you're right - the refinery should be redirected, not the company. I'll make that change shortly. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 18:21, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
@Lexicon: I ended up giving both pages a re-write. I found a good source that made me think the refinery's article should also be kept, with good early history. North Atlantic Refining is also more than just the refinery, so I tried to separate overlapping info from both articles. The history is very convoluted, but I hope it is presented in an easier way now that justifies both articles. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 20:32, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

My Cousin Vinny

Hi Vaselineeeeeeee, I am a new editor in Wikipedia, very much in the learning stage, and you just reverted my addition to the long plot description of this film. Someone had pointed out the plot was "bloated." I'm fine with the revert--I see you are of Italian heritage and this film is a favorite of yours, also of mine. I think it has delightful wit and also depth and perhaps more importance than has been granted. I do think the character Mona Lisa Vito is wonderful and deserved to be at least a bit more present in the plot, hence i thought the ending not fair in its use of the word "bicker." I did think it was strikingly important for her to point out to him that he needed help in the trial, that he will need help in the future to win cases, and in her ironic way indicating that thanking others was part of being a good lawyer (i.e. good guy, good husband, etc.) Additionally, I wonder if, in a plot description, everything should be given away. I know that online user film reviews often alert readers when reviews are "spoilers," as many people do not want the surprises given away to them and that's understandable.Latitude41N (talk) 20:22, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

@Latitude41N: Thanks for the note. Please read WP:FILMPLOT and WP:SPOILERS. Film plots should be between 400 and 700 words and concisely describe the film, not taking into account potential spoilers, while also not being overly descriptive. Thanks, Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 20:40, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

Neapolitan pizza

Before I say anything, please excuse if I'm doing anything wrong. This is my first time editing a Wikipedia page/talking to someone on the website.

I'm confused why you keep reverting my edits. Every change I made on that page is completely accurate and easily verifiable. I can send you links to further information on the topic or I could delve deeper into any of the edits I made to clarify any confusion you may have. I am an actual Neapolitan pizza chef who noticed a bit of incorrect information. Not just some random person trying to mess up the page. 108.2.143.193 (talk) 01:27, 16 December 2020 (UTC)

The IPs edits are all improvements. Vas: Please undo your revert and use the talk page. SPECIFICO talk 02:04, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
You must be kidding. The IP put "Neapolitan pizza (Italian: pizza napoletana) also known as Naples-style pizza, is a style of pizza popularly found in Naples, Italy and known for its charred cornicione (Outer crust) with a soft and light texture". For one, he wrote "Naples" twice in the same sentence, and added unsourced WP:POV. Take any changes to talk after revert per WP:BRD. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 02:07, 16 December 2020 (UTC)

LOL. One more revert by them within the 24 hour period and they will be reported to the edit warring board—newbie or not. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 02:17, 16 December 2020 (UTC)

I have no interest in arguing or warring over this. But the version you're so insistent on keeping "a style of pizza made with tomatoes and mozzarella cheese." Neapolitan pizza is a style not a topping combination. The marinara pizza, quatro formaggi, bianca, etc. All are a Neapolitan pizza if made in that style. My description covered the style as a whole rather than just a plain cheese and tomato pizza such as you can find in any pizza style. And that's just one of the fixes I'm trying to make. 108.2.143.193 (talk) 02:37, 16 December 2020 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.2.143.193 (talk) 02:31, 16 December 2020 (UTC)

Hey, just curious why you deleted the Paul Faraci article? He meets the notability guidelines and I was in the middle of adding more references. Wikieditor6557 (talk) 04:11, 3 January 2021 (UTC)

@Wikieditor6557: He does? The more notable topic is Pizza Pops, and the info that was on Faraci's article was almost exclusively about the company. Hello Vaslineeeeeeee. Notice "Merlino continues to serve as the boss of the crime family while living in Florida". Do you think the sources currently in the article justify this line. If so which ones? It sounds as though User:Joefromrandb, though he is imperfectly diplomatic, would accept this line if it were reworded and qualified. Would you be willing to negotiate this? I have not looked at the removal of sources that is going on, that might be another issue. Thanks EdJohnston (talk) 20:49, 8 January 2021 (UTC)

@EdJohnston: Thanks for having a look at this. Of course I would - that's why I was urging a talk page discussion to avoid the mass removal. The status quo should remain per BRD during that time, however. The prose could be improved, but that does not mean we have to cull everything that is reliably sourced. Specifically for the sentence you pointed out, there are several reliable sources for the last two sentences of Joey Merlino's article lead that could rework that sentence. However, something I can't overlook is the attitude of Joefromrandb in his full willingness to edit war despite BRD after I had voiced concern - that is unacceptable for an editor of his tenure. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 21:35, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
If you are willing to take a concrete step to get the discussion started, I can close the AN3 on that basis. If you just want admins to scold the other party for their bad attitude, it's another matter, perhaps to be handled at ANI. If you *do* try to negotiate and you get stonewalled then there is a new problem that could be addressed when it happens. EdJohnston (talk) 23:24, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
@EdJohnston: I didn't post the complaint to the edit warring noticeboard for him to be scolded for their bad attitude, I did it because they willingly went over 3RR because they were reading into 3RRNO in a way that would benefit them, and therefore should be blocked on that basis. I will try to hash it out on the talk page, but given the user wanted all 10,000 bytes removed due to bogus BLP issues (or ones that can be fixed without culling), I'm not so sure the user will be receptive - and it is also doubtful they will leave the previous version up while that discussion takes place. Regards, Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 23:40, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
The problem with your edit warring complaint is that one line that (superficially) appears to be unsourced defamation: "Merlino continues to serve as the boss of the crime family while living in Florida". If you can do something to get that line taken off the table, the other party might be blockable for their other edits. EdJohnston (talk) 23:44, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
@EdJohnston: That's fair. I have fixed that sentence to something I think is now less defamatory. Hope this is satisfactory. Best, Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 00:02, 9 January 2021 (UTC)

Hi

Hi. You reverted my edit on Merlino's article, kindly asking me to take the issue to the talk page. I've happily done so. Sadly, you haven't responded to elaborate on your reasoning for removal or indeed to address my point for inclusion. You kindly provided a couple of stand-alone acronyms in your initial remove (although that's a form of communication which I find unsettling and cult-like, but that's another matter), which I've read. But I was assuming you'd expand on this - specifically to highlight exactly how you consider it to run afoul. I don't know how things work here - for all I know you're judge, jury and executioner who doesn't need to properly explain oneself, but I'd like to think you've just simply forgotten and will do me the common courtesy of responding in due course. Thanks a lot. VideoGamePlaya (talk) 15:56, 25 January 2021 (UTC)

'Ndrangheta

I still suggest to add "No evidence between 'Ndrangheta and the murder was seriously considered after the initial suspicions. The people who were sentenced of the murder (Miroslav Marček, Tomáš Szabó, Zoltán Andruskó) or acquitted of ordering the hitman (Marián Kočner, Alena Zsuzsová) had no links to 'Ndrangheta. [1]" to Slovakia paragraph of the 'Ndrangheta article. Niesomdoma (talk) 21:48, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

@Vaselineeeeeeee: Thanks for the reply. Any of these links: Spectator.sme.sk ; Euronews; Politico.eu may serve as a good reference to conclusion of the murder trial. No mention of 'Ndrangheta in any of these. Give me green light and I will finish the paragraph with the references you approve. As for links between Slovakia and 'Ndrangheta this article in Slovak is providing very detailed info: SME.sk; --Niesomdoma (talk) 12:55, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
@Niesomdoma: I still don't see that info in those sources. The last Slovak source I auto translated and can only read up to "Carmine is dead". Are you saying that since Kočner was acquitted (who had 'Ndrangheta connections?) and the people who were charged (Marček, Szabó, and Andruskó) had no link to the 'Ndrangheta, and that's what you want to add? Could you copy and paste the passage from one of those sources where that is said? Thanks, Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 15:15, 29 January 2021 (UTC)

You cited a sentence from WP:ONUS, but not the relevant one, The onus to achieve consensus for inclusion is on those seeking to include disputed content. Also, the stable version of the article is the one without the deadname (contra the claim in your edit summary). I trust that you will therefore self-revert, as your edit did not comply with either policy you cited when making it. Newimpartial (talk) 22:27, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

@Newimpartial: I checked to see if the birthname was included as far back as 2018, and it was present, without edit warring, so how is that not stable? Regarding ONUS, I think we're going to have to agree to disagree on the 'disputed' content as it seems that the ongoing discussion in line with BRD will duly produce a result, which seems more productive than edit warring over the stable content. News today: Project Sindacato

I have updated the 'Ndrangheta article:

Charges stayed in one of Ontario's largest Mob busts after alleged illegal conduct by investigators The operation, dubbed Project Sindacato, resulted in charges against nine people in Canada who police alleged were part of a criminal organization with ties to the Mob in Italy.
On Jan. 27, prosecutors stayed the charges against six of the accused, including alleged boss Angelo Figliomeni, after defence lawyers raised concerns that investigators committed "significant breaches of solicitor/client privilege." Three of the accused previously had their charges stayed in 2020. Authorities involved in the case alleged that Angelo Figliomeni is the head of the 'Ndrangheta in Toronto, but Lacy said the York Regional Police investigation uncovered no such evidence.
After two years of work, millions of dollars in costs and extensive resources expended, Canadian authorities have almost nothing to show for it. All property seized by police must now be returned — with the exception of illegal possessions, such as the gambling machines, Lacy said https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/sindacato-charges-stayed-mob-york-police-1.5925133

There was a January article too, by Edwards, but I did not see it at the time. https://www.thespec.com/news/ontario/2020/01/27/mafia-boss-with-ties-to-gta-arrests-found-dead-in-italian-prison-cell.html Mafia boss with ties to GTA arrests found dead in Italian prison cell Giuseppe (Pino) Gregoraci, 51, of Siderno, Italy .... Gregoraci visited the Toronto area last spring, looking for clues on the murder of his cousin Carmelo (Mino) Muia, who was shot dead in Siderno on Jan. 18, 2018, police said.

Excerpt: While in the Toronto area, they met the brothers Cosimo and Angelo Figliomeni of York Region, Italian police said. The Figliomeni brothers were arrested last August in the Canadian arm of a transnational operation called Project Sindicato, which York Regional Police called the region's largest-ever anti-Mafia operation.

York police at the time said they considered Angelo Figliomini as the head of an international 'Ndrangheta group with a base in York Region.

Angelo Figliomeni moved to York Region shortly after he was charged in Italy with weapons and Mafia-association offences in 1992.

York police said Project Sindicato targeted builders, bankers, real estate agents and others in the financial sector. Police say the organization was involved in illegal gambling and loansharking, and laundered some of its money through regular visits to legal, government-run casinos.

At the time of the arrests last summer, police in the GTA seized five Ferrari sports cars, 27 homes and millions of dollars in cash while shutting down some 500 bank accounts.

"We have dismantled the financial structure of this organized crime operation, both here and in Italy," York Regional Police Chief Eric Jolliffe said at the time.

Gregoraci was one of 28 alleged members and associates of the 'Ndrangheta who were arrested in southern Italy in July 2019 in the Italian arm of Project Sindicato.

At the time of the arrests, Italian police said they had snared the "top management" of the Muia and Figliomeni Mafia organization. Peter K Burian (talk) 15:36, 24 February 2021 (UTC)

More insights from York Police

Another article that I don't recall seeing when it was published, by Reuters, Jul 18, 2019

the alleged boss, Angelo Figliomeni,... alias the “brigante” or the “bandit,” has been sought in Italy for almost a decade and is appealing a 20-year jail sentence there. Because he is a Canadian citizen and the crime of Mafia association does not exist in Canada, he could not be extradited and was living comfortably in Vaughan, a suburb of Toronto.
In Canada, he developed a massive money laundering operation, according to York police Detective Sergeant Carl Mattinen, who helped spearhead the investigation. Money was laundered through legal casinos in Canada, Mattinen added, saying Figliomeni’s organization had “cleaned an excess of C$70 million in only a few short years.”
The so-called “Figliomeni Group” also ran illegal gambling dens out of cafes, 11 of which were seized by police. Police seized 27 homes and 23 luxury vehicles, including one Ferrari valued at C$880,000.
A car-loan business was also used to launder money, police said. https://nationalpost.com/pmn/news-pmn/politics-news-pmn/canadian-police-nab-nine-suspected-members-of-powerful-mafia-clan

National Post: https://www.thechronicleherald.ca/news/canada/italian-mafia-boss-visiting-canada-unwittingly-carried-a-police-wiretap-to-his-meetings-340657/
The latest arrests in Italy were codenamed “Operazione Canadian ’Ndrangheta Connection 2,”
Vincenzo Muià, who was among those arrested in Italy, arrived at Toronto’s Pearson international airport on March 31 ... Muià said he came to Canada for only one thing, to meet with Angelo and Cosimo Figliomeni, two alleged leaders within the ’Ndrangheta who left Siderno, a town in Calabria, Italy, for Canada when they faced Mafia association charges. Here, authorities allege, their underworld influence is considerable.
Muià sought answers to a gnawing question: Who had ambushed and killed his brother, Carmelo Muià, known as “Mino,” who was shot dead in Siderno on Jan. 18, 2018.
After meeting with Angelo and Cosimo Figliomeni, according to allegations by Italian police, Muià was ready to go back home, figuring he had learned all he could here.

Peter Edwards has posted an article on the Star Web site; I am a subscriber so can read it. Added one quote from this article, since it was better than the one in the CBC article: Massive GTA Mafia bust collapses. Defence says York police accessed lawyers’ communications Peter Edwards Feb. 24, 2021. Nothing too significant but some different quotes.
Recaps the project, then continues ... The prosecution’s case fell apart after defence lawyers attacked police conduct in the investigation, saying they unlawfully accessed solicitor-client communications, Lacy said
“Mr. Figliomeni has always maintained that he did not commit any criminal offence,” Lacy said. “It was our position that the Crown’s case was premised on innuendo, suspicion and unsubstantiated allegations. Quite apart from what we alleged was significant police illegality, we were confident that Mr. Figliomeni was going to be exonerated.”
A spokesperson for York Regional Police said the force is “extremely disappointed” in the Crown’s decision to not proceed to trial on the criminal charges in Project Sindicato. “We remain very proud of this investigation and of the many members who worked so tirelessly throughout the 18 months it took to complete,” Nicolle said.

Hi, I saw that you removed cous cous di pesce alla trapanese from the List of Sicilian dishes. I am wondering why as this is an important dish. Philipp.governale (talk) 01:35, 10 March 2021 (UTC)

Albert Anselmi

A user named "Liz" deleted the biography of Albert Anselmi. I think, because he is not famous enough. But Anselmi is pretty famous for a gangster. I do not know how to fix this or if I should fix this. Thank you. JoeDetweiler — Preceding unsigned comment added by JoeDetweiler (talkcontribs) 04:02, 13 March 2021 (UTC)

I WP:PROD’d it with no objection based on it not meeting WP:CRIME. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 04:29, 13 March 2021 (UTC)

I haven't been in a rush to add citations to this article because it's mostly cited to The Murder Machine, which is considered the definitive book on the subject. It just doesn't use inline citations for it. Harizotoh9 (talk) 04:27, 15 March 2021 (UTC)

Ok, will you be adding them eventually? Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 14:11, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
I added the ABC news article, and I'll add some more. But I'm pretty sure it's most or all accurate so it's not a huge priority. I did a lot of work on the Larry Lawton and Richard Kuklinski articles recently because they had major problems. My copy of Murder Machine is an epub I got from amazon, meaning it doesn't have page numbers. I could add citations to the chapters, but not individual pages. Someone would have to get the print edition to get specific pages. Harizotoh9 (talk) 18:19, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
Sounds good, thanks for that work! Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 18:26, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
There's some modern and archival online sources from newspapers, but a lot of the real bulk is gonna be books and newspapers from the time which can't be easily accessed online. Whenever there's a free weekend I clip a bunch of articles on newspapers.com. Also I've looked at a few other mob articles. Around adding some sources to Michael Franzese since it's a messy article, Gianni Russo is a mess and he's a known teller of tall tales meaning making an article will be hard when half his interviews are filled with WP:FRINGE. Frank Cullotta just died recently so there's a bunch of articles on him. Also I don't think Andrei Katz as a victim is notable enough. Harizotoh9 (talk) 22:11, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
@Harizotoh9: If you think Franzese is still a little messy now, this is what it looked like before I did significant overhauls since 2019, similar to you on DeMeo now. I don't have a newspapers.com account, so I know that is valuable information that can be put to work, so thanks. I've prod'd Katz. You probably know this, but NYT's paywall can be bypassed by using internet archive. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 22:29, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

I don't have a paid account for newspapers just a free one so I clip when there's a free weekend. Once clipped articles are fully viewable by anyone even without an account. Here's what I've clipped and here's a bunch of stuff for Franzese for example. These kind of articles are invaluable because a modern profile might reference something, but won't go into too much detail. Also, the Associated Press' online archive is far from incomplete so you will only find some of them in newspapers.

Oh, I didn't even know that John Franzese Jr. had a page! Only the Indianna Star article is actually about him, the rest is about his testimony at Sonny's trial. A bunch of the sources on his page are crap tabloids like Huffpost or NY Post. My gut says he's not really notable enough for a page like his dad and brother. Harizotoh9 (talk) 01:28, 20 March 2021 (UTC)

Oh, very cool thanks for the links. When I have a free week I'll go through them for Michael. With regards to John Jr., I think he just barely meets the notability cutoff, being part of that high profile case and being the first son of a mob figure to testify against his father. WP:HUFFPOST is still reliable, but WP:NYPOST is now not. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 01:47, 20 March 2021 (UTC)

Gnocchi

Hello Vaselineeeeeeee,

Please remove all items that refer to gnocchi as pasta. This is not true. There are similarities between the ingredients in gnocchi and pasta, but process is not the same. Would you say that water and hydrogen peroxide are the same? No you would not, even though they are both made of oxygen and hydrogen. Gnocchi is a dumpling. Such a simple recipe to create something that is beautiful and complex. The process to make pasta versus gnocchi is completely different. Pasta takes the time to develop the gluten in the flour. Gnocchi is the opposite. The art of combining the ingredients together just enough for them to hold, but still create a like pillowy dumpling. I apologize for the undo. This is my first time editing on Wikipedia. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AW204 (talkcontribs) 22:56, 17 March 2021 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for correct my grammatical errors in this page. Would you help me add more text to the page to make it more interesting to readers?

@Dr Salvus: No problem. I see you want to make it a WP:FL. You should model it after Serie A Coach of the Year, an FL. Expand on the history. I can help clean it. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 21:41, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
Thank you very much. I don't have much imagination on what to write. I don't have much imagination on what to write. Since English is my third language, would you mind if we talked to each other in Italian or French? Dr Salvus 21:45, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

Pazienza. Se ti va puoi aiutarmi con la pagina Overseas teams in the main competition of the Coupe de France oppure con Gela e Pachino. Dr Salvus 17:58, 29 March 2021 (UTC)

Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 20:25, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
Penso che non sei stato chiaro. Spiega le tue intenzioni in inglese. Dr Salvus 20:28, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
I just meant that the article should definitely not be nominated again in its current state because nothing has changed. You'll just get the same response by the community again. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 20:38, 29 March 2021 (UTC)

Dr Salvus 20:44, 29 March 2021 (UTC)

Oh really, that was not clear? Just that maybe we could focus on building the article's text on matches that happened post-2000s where there is more source availability before renominating (and maybe that would be enough for FL) but I'm still doubtful. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 20:48, 29 March 2021 (UTC)

Ho molti dubbi anch'io.

A Footballer of the Year. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 23:25, 29 March 2021 (UTC)

Ho deciso di aiutarti con questo articolo Serie A Footballer of the Year.

@Dr Salvus: Hey, Attualmente sto scrivendo alcune cose per Serie A Footballer of the Year emulando Serie A Coach of the Year.

@Dr Salvus:Quale parte? Just that I'd rather focus time on something I know can be achieved (the footballers article over the coppa article). Second, was that List of Italian football champions is a FL article with old history so you can model it after that, but it was given this status in 2007 when the standards may have been lower. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 16:18, 30 March 2021 (UTC)

i spiego meglio l'accaduto in inglese. Yes, you are right but in the application some users accepted the lack of data on the spectators of the finals. If you read candidacy number 2 carefully, commentators have complained about other problems. Dr Salvus 16:36, 30 March 2021 (UTC)

Ciao.

Requesting review of Dan Friedkin suggested edits

Hi Vaselineeeeeeee, I saw that you had edited the Dan Friedkin page in the past, and therefore wanted to politely ask if you would be willing to review my suggested edits on the Talk:Dan Friedkin page as I have a COI given that The Friedkin Group is a client of ours.

Also, I have a question regarding changing the name of a related page that I was wondering if you might be able to shed light on. You'll notice that Gulf States Toyota Distributors is referenced multiple times on the Dan Friedkin page. The problem is that the name of the company does not actually include the word "distributors" in it, it is simply "Gulf States Toyota" as seen here in this Houston Chronical Article, "Gulf States Toyota driven to succeed." After reviewing the information on Template:Requested move it appears that I should submit the request on Talk:Gulf States Toyota Distributors, however that leads to the Talk page for The Friedkin Group because Gulf States Toyota Distributors appears to have previously been renamed to "The Friedkin Group." Therefore, I'm not sure how best to proceed. Any advice you could share would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time! CameronSays (talk) 23:29, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

@CameronSays: I changed the link to Gulf States Toyota, I also addressed your other changes on the article's talk page. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 00:12, 22 May 2021 (UTC)
@Vaselineeeeeeee: Thank you very much for your assistance on the Dan Friedkin page! I did notice one thing on the page though - it appears the following sentence was accidentally placed in the incorrect spot: "In 2014, Friedkin and Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation, along with other conservation organizations, made the largest conservation investment in Texas history when they purchased the 17,351-acre Powderhorn Ranch to preserve one of the largest remaining tracts of unspoiled coastal prairie in Texas." That sentence should be placed at the end of the "Personal Life" section rather than in the middle. Apologies for the inconvenience there. Also, I was wondering if you might be able to review the request I added to the Talk:Friedkin Group page. Our client would like to undo the move that was made earlier this month, as the reasoning given for that move by the editor was incorrect. Thank you again for your time, consideration and assistance with these items. CameronSays (talk) 01:13, 27 May 2021 (UTC)
@CameronSays: I did that for chronological purposes. 2014 came before 2019. Can you tell me how to rearrange the section so it is chronological? Thanks. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 01:29, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello! @Binksternet: It looks like I did warn the IP that I had reverted once. Not sure what to make of the global IP address. You should probably make this situation known to the relevant admins. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 13:15, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

The article is too big

The article is more than 150,000 bytes big! We should split it according to the guideline.--Sakiv (talk) 03:18, 9 June 2021 (UTC)

@Sakiv: Would you like to help me split it properly such as in Italy national football team results such that it is not a partial split? Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 03:20, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
Sure :) But do we use the football box template?--Sakiv (talk) 03:24, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
@Sakiv: Yeah for sure, I think using collapsible tables is even against policy due to accessibility so. What is the best way to approach this? I notice that the match reports are not currently used so we'll have to find those. Do you have a reliable site to find these? Maybe I can work on pre-1990, and you do the rest? Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 03:28, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
Great, I agree with you on the distribution of work and necessity of using templates instead of tables. I found this site that contains the details we need.--Sakiv (talk) 03:38, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
@Sakiv: Ok great thanks. I'll probably get started tomorrow. Sorry for being a little hostile in the beginning. This was actually something I have been meaning to get to, so didn't just want there to be a partial split especially if the info was duplicated on a page that really should be split fully. Now that we can split the work, it should be good. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 03:43, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
Thank you, I understand your reaction. We can start quickly but I think we have to agree on the result timeframe. Canada only played about 40 matches before 1980 but from 1980 to 1990 played more than 80 matches. The time period 1924–1979 and 1980–1990 would be good for you to work on.--Sakiv (talk) 03:52, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
@Sakiv: Yes, I was thinking that as well. I think we should do Canada men's national soccer team results (1924–1977), Canada men's national soccer team results (1980–1999) and Canada men's national soccer team results (2000–2019). I will work in my User:Vaselineeeeeeee/sandbox where I will put my half of 1980–1999. I think the 19 year intervals are good better than 10 year intervals. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 04:00, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
Okay, that's great :)--Sakiv (talk) 04:03, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
@Sakiv: I have created all the split pages seen here: Canada men's national soccer team results. I have finished 1924–1977. Will work on my half of 1980–1999 in a bit. Let me know if you'll still be on track. Regards, Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 16:55, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
Sorry but I thought we would both create our pages when they were complete. I think you made a mistake when you copied and pasted the content of the large page to create the three articles. This can be used as an argument to override templates and replace them with unhelpful tables. I'm still working on the 2000-2019 page and I'm close to finishing half of it.--Sakiv (talk) 17:27, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
@Sakiv: Excellent! I just wanted to get everything in order for the new pages. The two pages (1980-1999) and (2000-2019) have the tables in them from the main page for now, until you are ready to replace them with the football boxes. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 17:36, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
@Sakiv: Hi! Not sure if you just haven't included them yet, but remember to include the goalscorers and the reports to the football boxes! Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 17:35, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
@Sakiv: Just an update that I've finished my half at Canada men's national soccer team results (1980–1999). I will now continue on with the unofficial matches. Let me know if you need any help. Regards, Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 19:57, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
Good job. You may add the reports if you want.--Sakiv (talk) 15:58, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
@Sakiv: Thanks. I'll let you finish adding all your remaining results for 2014–19 and 1990–99 then I'll help by adding the reports and goalscorers if you haven't done so already. Thanks, Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 23:19, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

Hello, There is a user who is replacing the content of articles with obsolete tables instead of Football box collapsible templates. He did so in a recent Argentina and Brazil articles. I think the templates look more informative and easy to read. Can we cooperate to change that?--Sakiv (talk) 16:36, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
@Sakiv: I can't do anything about that, but it looks like a WP:LOCALCONSENSUS to me that is a WT:FOOTY issue. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 21:02, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
That's what I meant. We can bring up the topic on the WikiProject to get an outright consensus.--Sakiv (talk) 21:29, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

James Gandolfini

Hi, I have no idea if I'm doing this correctly, please forgive me if so.

In relation to the James Gandolfini page. I know it comes across as a bit trivial, but his middle name is noted as "John" on the funeral program that can be found quite easily by Google search. I know you refer to the NYT source, but I am unable to read that given the need for a subscription.

I just wonder if there is any way the funeral program could be considered a suitable source, as I would hope his name would be noted correctly on that? I would share on here, if I knew how!

Thanks for your time.

Edit: perhaps this link will work - https://heavy.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/program.jpg

Thanks for this. I have added the comment at Talk:James Gandolfini#Middle name. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 22:07, 9 June 2021 (UTC)

Thank you ever so much for taking this into consideration. The discrepancy is quite strange, as you would hope an obituary in NYT would have researched a name properly, and I've seen the funeral card photos floating around for years and it certainly looks legitimate. I remember years ago (I believe he was still alive at the time), he was referred to as "James R Gandolfini". No idea where that came from.

Vandalismi

Andrebbero annullati i suoi revert. Ti ringrazio in anticipo. --LukeWiller (talk) 08:53, 30 June 2021 (UTC).

@LukeWiller: Ciao.
Ciao, --LukeWiller (talk) 16:37, 1 July 2021 (UTC).

What is this association of Italians against others on the English wikipedia, for this you need to be banned 93.138.190.221 (talk) 17:20, 1 July 2021 (UTC)

@LukeWiller: L'ho revert in base alla tua nuova fonte. It should be written in English here, because this is an English wikipedia. And stop working together against others on wikipedia, because that’s not fair of you. 93.138.190.221 (talk) 17:36, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
@LukeWiller: All I can say is since you were the one who added the content that is being reverted, per WP:BRD you should use the article talk page to discuss why you think this source and info are necessary. Thanks, Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 20:03, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
I have read the discussion on all the pages on which it took place: it is still controversial, and I do not know the English Wikipedia policies so well as to open (and continue) a discussion in the talk of the article. Thanks for the help anyway. --LukeWiller (talk) 21:09, 1 July 2021 (UTC).
I owe you an apology for involving you in this matter: from now on I will deal with non-controversial topics. Sorry again. LukeWiller (talk) 14:17, 3 July 2021 (UTC).

Serie A Footballer of the Year FLC

Hi Vaselineeeeeeee. The FLC had been active for over four months, which is much longer than we'd like to see FLCs last, and there wasn't any sign of further support coming. One support by itself isn't enough to say there was a consensus for promotion; typically us closers would like to see at least three supports. give or take, and it didn't look like that was going to happen in a reasonable time frame here. Unfortunately, we can't leave FLCs open indefinitely, so I felt like archiving the FLC was the correct decision. Given that you've addressed the feedback from the first FLC, I don't think anyone would have any objections if you were to re-nominate the list. If you do so (and I hope you will), I wish you the best of luck and hope you get more reviewer attention. Cheers. Giants2008 (Talk) 01:46, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

@Giants2008: Thank you for this explanation. I have done so. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 13:38, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

@Nehme1499: Thanks. I see I was mistaken in considering the "Knight Grand Cross with Collar" as the first class, but it seems the class system starts with the second order of merit. I will fix this for the team members. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 19:48, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

Byron Moreno

Hi! I noticed you keep reverting my edits. May I ask why? IdkImNotCreative (talk) 14:34, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

@IdkImNotCreative: Hi. Because they are WP:unsourced and introduce WP:POV. You don't use air quotes on an encyclopedia. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 14:35, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

A thousand apologies. Apart from that, may I keep my edits? I feel like what I edited is shared by many people and is official. IdkImNotCreative (talk) 14:38, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

I think that many people believe what I edited was true, and even though I don’t share the experience you have, I believe we can correct my formal mistakes and compromise IdkImNotCreative (talk) 14:39, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

Byron Moreno consensus

Hi, by my edits I was hoping to change the way the article was written because I think it has some subliminal messages. For instance, I was attempting to edit how the offside is described, because many people agree it wasn’t offside, whilst that article bit makes it look like it was offside . So I wanted to add a part that said that it probably wasn’t. Same for the dive. Lastly, I also wanted to report the fact about the fouls. I hope we can compromise, tell me your opinion. IdkImNotCreative (talk) 15:02, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

Please move this to the talk page of Moreno. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 15:03, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

I might want to mention that I obviously don’t go by my opinion alone, as I follow what many respectable people say. About the fouls, I wanted to mention the fact that they weren’t reported, but all in good spirit. I do not intend to change it into my perspective, just what the majority agrees to. Thanks for reading. IdkImNotCreative (talk) 15:05, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

Oh sorry, will do. IdkImNotCreative (talk) 15:05, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
