Nonsense of Samuel Whitside[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Samuel Whitside, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Samuel Whitside provides no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Samuel Whitside, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 04:48, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The reason it keeps reverting back is because you are removing huge chunks of the article and people are reverting you. Theresa Knott | Taste the Korn 21:10, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:1877 Huachuca.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:1877 Huachuca.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 00:05, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Col. Warren W. Whitside and Maj. Gen. Malin C. Craig 1928 Fort Clayton Panama.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Col. Warren W. Whitside and Maj. Gen. Malin C. Craig 1928 Fort Clayton Panama.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:32, 22 June 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 02:32, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Cover of the 1934 July - August Quartermaster Review Featuring Col. Warren W. Whitside.pdf[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Cover of the 1934 July - August Quartermaster Review Featuring Col. Warren W. Whitside.pdf. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 03:11, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. -Uyvsdi (talk) 23:43, 3 May 2011 (UTC)Uyvsdi[reply]

File:SMWhitside-1876.jpg missing description details[edit]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 01:00, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

External link spam[edit]

Please do not spam Wikipedia with external links to your personal blog. This violates the WP:EL guideline that says that ELs to blogs are acceptable only if the blog is written by someone who meets Wikipedia's notability criteria for people. 71.139.157.80 (talk) 16:22, 9 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for December 31[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Drexel Mission Fight, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Distinguished Service Medal (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

A tag has been placed on File:Selfless Service- The Cavalry Career of Brigadier General Samuel M. Whitside from 1858 to 1902.pdf requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F10 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file that is not an image, sound file or video clip (e.g. a Microsoft Word document or PDF file) that has no encyclopedic use.

This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
