Talk page[edit]

Hello, fellow Wikipedians, This talk page informs/talks about important aspects of the writing of this article. Usydwork (talk) 13:40, 21 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Purpose of the article?[edit]

The purpose is to provide a basic understanding of the Acceptance Criteria. The closest related discipline is Engineering or Computer Science. As Acceptance Criteria can be abstract for the forms of criteria, appropriate illustrations are presented along. Usydwork (talk) 13:40, 21 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Acceptance Criteria can't be separated from Acceptance Testing. This article should be notable because Acceptance Criteria is needed for Acceptance testing to take place. This can involve the arrangements of testing to affecting the development of the code to suit the Acceptance Criteria as the benchmark or simply what the clients want. Scope of the article?[edit]

This categorized only in the computer or software development area.Usydwork (talk) 13:40, 21 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki style considerations[edit]

The considerations to not discuss the technical aspect of Acceptance Criteria is in line with the Wikipedia Good Article Criteria https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Article_development & https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Five_pillars & https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Editing as well as following the Engineering page style guide

In order to meet the verifiability, this article will select reliable sources such as University-level books and journals articles which have a neutral point of view (as Acceptance Criteria mostly have a technical and knowledge-based discussion) to demonstrate the importance of Acceptance Criteria.

However, it is difficult to academically to research on acceptance Criteria specifically which most of the academic sources discuss Acceptance testing. The content of this article has been written to specifically focus on the importance and the use of Acceptance Criteria from the concepts and practical examples of academic sources. This article aims to contain the breadth of coverage.Usydwork (talk) 13:40, 21 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Choice of formatting for the article[edit]

The software development or software engineering page hasn't provided any style of writing style but a useful nav which is at the end of this article. Although the "software" is an existing available infobox style, most of the item don't fit the topic of this article such as license, screenshot and version. The arthor has visited other similar articles related to software but all of them either has the nav box at the top and the bottom, or only contain basic information, or incomplete article (such as lack of reference and content)Usydwork (talk) 06:41, 22 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Questions to ask?[edit]

These are important to contribute to the success of the project because the preparation has a direct influence on how Acceptance Criteria can be tested.Usydwork (talk) 13:40, 21 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Language of Writing[edit]

The choice of language and point of view are meant to be as neutral as possible without any bias according to the verifiable references. A third person perspective is chosen to create this article. The author aims to conduct a careful examination with no original research or analysis and present facts up to the academic standards. Usydwork (talk) 13:40, 21 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Agile practice and Acceptance testing[edit]

Agile development is often associated with use-cases and user stories, which employ those to frequently capture customer requirement (acceptance criteria) at the end and the beginning of each sprint. The details of agile practice have a separate wiki page for more understanding.

However, the details of agile implementation are not discussed in this article. The purpose of this section is because acceptance criteria have significant use of the agile practice. The author intends to address all necessary aspects of acceptance criteria (balance for the breadth of coverage) without mentioning the unnecessary details.Usydwork (talk) 13:40, 21 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Similarity to Acceptance Testing?[edit]

This article mentioned about difference between acceptance criteria and acceptance testing because readers can get easily mixed since Acceptance testing is an existing article, and Acceptance Criteria is a requested article. This article will not discuss (going into the details of Acceptance Testing)the implementation of the Acceptance Testing but focus on the criteria side of testing instead.Usydwork (talk) 13:40, 21 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
