Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Downtown Cleveland, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Euclid Avenue (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Edward L. Finnigan's DOB[edit]

Usaf 1832, thanks for your recent work on Case Western Reserve football articles. What was your source for Edward L. Finnigan's date of birth? You had put it as February 14, 1901. I changed it to February 14, 1911 per his age (57) at his death in 1958. But I wonder if February 14 is reliable. Jweiss11 (talk) 02:38, 1 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jweiss, And thank you for all the formatting and clean up help and work you do/have done!

The date is not reliable. Looking back, I'm not sure where I pulled it. I found numerous reference to "died at age 57," along with his date of death, but I seem to be unable to confirm the DOB. Usaf 1832 (talk) 14:04, 1 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Usaf 1832, happy to help out here. I removed the DOB from the Finnigan article and replaced it with an approximate year of birth (c. 1911). He could have been born in late 1910 per his death at at 57 on July 10, 1968. Jweiss11 (talk) 14:21, 1 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, friend[edit]

I caught a couple of your Western Reserve football team articles in the new pages queue. Thanks very much for your work! I was wondering if you might also add the location of the school in the lead of each article — "...located in the American city of Cleveland, Ohio..." — as you create these, since the university's location is not obviously apparent and most casual users visiting the pages will be lost. Thanks for that. best regards, —Tim //// Carrite (talk) 16:31, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the message and improvement suggestion! Next time I'm editing, I'll add the US city and state to all the pages I've filled in...and from now on, include the info in any future pages.(Usaf 1832 (talk) 23:07, 5 September 2016 (UTC))[reply]

Ways to improve President of Case Western Reserve University[edit]

Hi, I'm Ceyockey. Usaf 1832, thanks for creating President of Case Western Reserve University!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. REALLY need to support info here with references; also, some obvious categories which could be added. Finally - might revise title to "Presidents of ..."; alternatively, might consider full conversion to a list-article ... these have style guidelines, but I'm not familiar with that, so cannot give specific recommendations - just recommending you to take a look at that article type.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Cleveland into Sports in Cleveland. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 20:19, 27 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Flory Mauriocourt requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.cleveland.com/obituaries/2011/08/flory_e_mauriocourt_cwru_coach.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
