April 2020[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Jio, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also appears that you have been editing pages disruptively in a way to imply your own personal views which is also against Wikipedia's policies. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Lakshmisreekanth (talk) 22:01, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You. So far I have tried to maintain the integrity of all the contributions. I have justified them with as much citations possible. And I hope will continue to do so. Mindless editing should be prevented at all costs and for that everyone should be as much vigil as possible. Edits and counter edits should be motivated by reason and not by emotions. Thank You. Regarding Flipkart edit[edit]

Hello, I would like to inform you that Flipkart is legally a Singaporean company. A nationality of a Company is based completely on where the Company is registered. Nationality of a company is not determined on where it was founded or where it has the operational headquarters or founder is/are an Indian citizen. For example:- If you are a resident of Delhi and your vehicle has it's registration in Jharkhand. Then for all occasions your vehicle is recognized as a vehicle from Jharkhand. It's a same thing for company too. Flipkart from beginning had the company registered in Singapore for which the company can in no way be called as an Indian company. Swastik Mridha (talk) 06:33, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Swastik thanks for your reply. But I am afraid you are missing the whole point here. Flipkart's one entity may be incorporated in Singapore, but also has more than one entities registered in India too, namely Flipkart Internet Limited. It is a complex structure. You are correct it is a subsidiary but albeit Indian registered and not Singapore registered. For reference check out the nomenclature of Star India. It is considered as Indian company even if it's clearly owned by foreign companies only because it's operation are handled by Indian registered entity. Unique1997 (talk) 06:54, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I had reviewed the incorporation details of Flipkart from multiple sources. Flipkart Private Limited (the main company) doesn't hold/have any form of Indian Registration. It only has Singaporean Registration. And all companies have their separate operations subsidiary but those subsidiary can't determine the nationality of the main company if the main company has it's own registration. For example Motorola Mobility LLC is an American subsidiary company. For it's Indian Operational the company has an Indian subsidiary Motorola Mobility Private Limited. But that subsidiary doesn't make the main company Motorola Mobility LLC Indian from American. Like Samsung Electronics Co. Limited is a South Korean MMC. It has a an Indian subsidiary Samsung Electronics India Private Limited. But again here the Indian subsidiary doesn't make the main company Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd Indian from South Korean. And here in Wikipedia we are talking about the main company Flipkart not about it's subsidiary. Swastik Mridha (talk) 16:46, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you are correct. It all depends on what entity the page represents. If it represents Motorola Mobility LLC page then it should be mentioned. If it is representing Samsung India page then it will be mentioned accordingly. If it is Disney India page then it shall be mentioned accordingly. If it is Walt Disney Studios page then the nation should be mentioned accordingly. The page currently being discussed is of a e-commerce site being operated by an Indian Entity registered with Registrar of Companies, Govt. of India. The Singapore entity does not operate an e-commerce entity in India. It is just a holding company. If one create a Page about this holding company then they can feel free to write its nationality there. But since this Flipkart page represents the operational website (and not any holding company which isn't responsible for the entity the page is representing) it is imperative for the page to simply reflect that without making it any more complicated then it is required.
