Welcome![edit]

Hello, Tyson R. Roberts, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Tyson R. Roberts, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Welcome![edit]

Hello, Tyson R. Roberts, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited appears to be an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page. If your contributions to an existing article about yourself are undone and you wish to add to it, please propose the changes on its talk page.

Before you leave a message at my talk[edit]

Basic rule - people are not allowed to edit their own wikipedia pages - regardless of context Either change your user name , or contact WP:OTRS - and it will facilitate an easier path on wikipedia. Please understand it is one of the basic rules, regardless of 'fact', truth, or whatever - better to put the effort into the communicating with OTRS... two alternatives offered than to pursue editors who leave messages - thanks JarrahTree 09:47, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@JarrahTree: No, changing username is not a good idea - the editor should not edit the article about himself whether under his real name or using a different editor name. Using his own name makes it easier to spot, but it would still be a contravention of policy if they edited the article about themself pseudonymously. PamD 18:20, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@PamD: Fair enough - I understand the issue - basically one does not write about oneself in any way, period. JarrahTree 02:35, 26 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
