Breaking Point (Bullet for My Valentine song)[edit]

The Breaking Point single fails WP:NSONG which specifically states that Songs that do not rise to notability for an independent article should redirect to another relevant article, such as for the songwriter, a prominent album or for the artist who prominently performed the song. I added a notability tag to the article. If you remove the tag I added, I will report you to an administrator via an administrative noticeboard. This is just heads up. You were not supposed to revert my edit. Versace1608 (Talk) 19:55, 21 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Minor edits[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. --John (talk) 18:39, 25 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at List of Slipknot band members shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
It is better to use the talk page, rather than reinstating the material in every single article when it is removed. Nymf (talk) 19:09, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Close to being reported[edit]

Your persistence in adding Alessandro and/or Weinberg's names to the Slipknot (band) article without reliable or non-speculative sources, despite being asked not too is quite jarring. If it happens again I am afraid I will have to refer your name to the Administrators' noticeboard requesting a temporary ban from editing the article, until such time that the album has been released. Thank you. --Jasca Ducato (talk) 15:56, 10 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not trying to "scare" you, I am attempting to keep speculative information off of the article. You constantly claim the sources are reliable, but continue to ignore the fact that the sources themselves on speculate as to the identity of the new bassist. Once again, it appears I must repeat my comment that until such time that Corey Taylor explicitly says: "Alessandro is our new bassist", his name cannot stay in the article.
I shall ignore your attempts to get a rise out of me by insulting me. --Jasca Ducato (talk) 11:53, 11 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You're continued refusal to simply accept this Wiki's regulations aside; I warn you that if you continue to act like a child by using uncalled for insults in what I had hoped would be a perfectly civil conversation, I shall have to report you. You may claim that you do not care whether you get banned or not, since you "have a life", but the fact that you are hiding behind a PC screen does not give you the right to make personal insults against another user. I suggest you check you language and behaviour, before you become forced to live "your life" without Wikipedia being involved in it for a while. --Jasca Ducato (talk) 22:19, 13 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

October 2014[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Josh Brainard. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. Slipknot singles: .5: The Gray Chapter[edit]

Those aren't singles. Custer just had a promo video and a page had already been created with reasonable detail to remain an article. Your pages you created are good, but they need to be listed as simply songs rather than singles. I know that from personal experience. Promo videos are not singles. DannyMusicEditor (talk) 17:35, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Promotional singles are still singles. User talk:TypeONegative13

According to my personal experience, the singles box is for official singles only. Why The Negative One and All Hope is Gone are listed as official I will never know why. There are several articles on Wikipedia that aren't supposed to have them and they do anyway. Don't make the problem worse.

I linked that Custer page because it had one that had some quality information. Not that it was a single.

DannyMusicEditor (User talk:DannyMusicEditor talk) 00:11, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Umm "The Negative One" can never not be argued that it's not a single considering it was released as a digital single on many digital retailers and also had an official music video. I know Corey was quoted as saying "It's a gift to the fans not a single" and I did put that quote on the page but unfortunately Corey's opinion does not change the definition of a single and that's also why Mate.Kill.Feed.Repeat should be listed as a studio album because that's what it is, I know most of the people involved (who are still in the band, members who left after opinion's differ) wish to disregard it as a demo album but the fact is it's a studio album and the true demo album was simply titled Slipknot in 1998 before they made their major label debut album and their opinion cannot change that because a demo recording is a recording made for demonstration to record labels and what not or given out for free at concerts before they get signed etc. Slipknot were already signed at this point and the recording was done in a studio for an indie record label and sold to the public therefore it's an independent studio album at the very least. But back to the original point promotional singles generally get their own article as well if they're notable enough and there was a lot of hype for every Slipknot single that came out this year. (User talk:TypeONegative13 talk)

Slipknot[edit]

Hey, mate, I've got a question for you – why are constantly reverting my edits to Slipknot? If I'm making perfectly valid and correct edits, then I don't see why someone like yourself who has only been on Wikipedia for a short time should think it's OK to do that. All I do with these type of articles is edit the band members and timeline sections, as well as any grammatical or technical errors that I see. That's all I've done with this article. I'm restoring my edits anyway, so please explain. All I'd like to know is why. Regards, 4TheWynne (talk) 21:10, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You deleted everything I had added to the page when you put your timeline in that's why I reverted it however I have now added the timeline in. Also I've actually been on wikipedia for many years, this is not my first account although I don't see how long someone being a member here gives them more rights and say so's when that's not the point of this site. User:TypeONegative13

All I'm trying to say is that there's a difference between deleting and rearranging. All I did was take out things that aren't necessary, such as numbers next to band members and other little technical things (and one reference that wasn't needed), plus I edited the introduction, because it needed to be fixed. As far as I know, I haven't done anything to the article that contradicts what you've done. The other thing is that if you look on the Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. article you'll find that the band considers it a demo, therefore it is not a studio album. That also needs to go. In response to the last thing you said, the longer you've been around, the more you know. 4TheWynne (talk) 22:36, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You took out the reference that proved Donnie was still in the band in 2014 and changed it back to 2013 and you also jumbled up the order of the members. They were in order of when each one left. The band considering something later doesn't make it fact. MFKR is not a demo it's a studio album and they recorded it and sold it as such at the time of release. Pantera disregarded their first 4 or 5 albums but that still makes them studio albums. Also former members like Anders Colsefni considers it a studio album so not all the band members involved agree with that statement. You can check out Anders' YouTube vlogs if you don't believe me. Joey also considers Beyond the Valley of The Murderdolls to be a demo but it's still a studio album regardless. A demo recording is a recording taken for demonstration purposes to record labels, they were already on a label when they recorded it so it makes it an indie studio album at the very least. User:TypeONegative13

In terms of the band members, I wasn't "jumbling them up"; what I was doing is something that I've done for all band articles that I've been editing except for Metallica. Rather than put them in chronological order of when they joined or left, I put them in order of instrument, just like how they would appear on, say, your average timeline. If it helps, have a look at my contributions and see the sort of edits I make. Now, with Donnie, I only took out the reference (and I didn't change it to 2013; someone else might have done that) because it didn't need to be included there. It's better off going in the body of the article, along with the information regarding his return, because normally references don't go in the band members section. And with MFKR, I'm only going with something that I see. If the band considers it to be a demo (no matter when they make this statement), and it is said that the 1999 self-titled album was their debut album (if you look at the introduction in the article), then that's what I'm forced to believe. 4TheWynne (talk) 23:32, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Another thing – I'd like you to justify what you mean by "vandalism" and "deletion of good information" in reference to the edits that I made. I am making perfectly valid and relevant edits. I don't understand why you keep on reverting my edits, among other people's. Other people are allowed to edit articles, you know. I'm taking this discussion to the article's talk page, but I'd still like to know why, please. 4TheWynne (talk) 13:05, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No you are not, you deleted the CORRECT order of the current and former band members when everyone on the page has agreed that the current will be in order of who joined first to last and the former will be who left last to who left first. You also deleted Donnie Steele and the reference that he had been playing in the band in 2014. You deleted the live album from the timeline which live albums can be included in a timeline. The timeline is not complete anyway because it mentions no fact that Craig played guitar in the band before he moved to samples. You also deleted Mate.Kill.Feed.Repeat from the studio album listing when it is in fact a studio album not a demo, some members of the band's OPINION does not change this, it was released under a record label and sold to the public therefore it's a studio album a demo is an album made to demonstrate to a record label, the 1998 demo is a demo MFKR is not. You don't see Pantera calling their first 4 albums demos because they're not demos, they might have been made on an independent label and are long out of print but they are still studio albums nonetheless (User talk: TypeONegative13)

You just won't let up, will you? You're fighting a one-man battle; leave the "status quo" alone. You say that I'm deleting the correct order of the band members when in fact you are changing the order. Do you have some sort of vendetta against me or something? I helped you with your edit, and the new members are allowed to remain on the article for now – this is what I get? Just leave the band members and discography sections alone if all you're going to do is revert my edits, unless you want to go to the talk page and discuss it there like you should be. One last thing – if you want more proof that MFKR is a demo, you'll find that it wasn't initially released under a record label. It was self-distributed before it was handed over to the record label, proving that they were not signed to a record label beforehand and, therefore, that it was not a studio album. It's not just an opinion of the band members' – for you to say that it is a studio album is an "opinion". 4TheWynne (talk) 02:32, 4 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article Karl the Butcher vs. Axe has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NFILM, no sourcing found

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
