I did, just a minor correction. Arabic doesn't have the letter "G", but in Egyptian Arabic it replaces "J" (which in turn is informally replaced with an additional letter that doesn't exist in standard Arabic "چ"), hence Jamal becomes Gamal. The other editor spelled it with a "ک/گ" (like in Persian/Urdu/Kurdish), which I changed to the correct "ج" (jeem - i.e. geem in Egypt). Turnopoems (talk) 16:24, 12 November 2016 (UTC)

Gebel el-Silsila

I have reverted your unexplained edits. The English works use "Gebel el-Silsila" in the professional literature. "Gabal" is a variant version used in Arabic Anglicization, which was already noted in the original article. Constructive edits are desired. Your move was not helpful in this case. September 2023: Edit warring

The two editors you're referring to are the ones that reversed the long-standing version, which has been in place since at least 2019 ([1]), as far back as I can go in history, and are now engaging in an edit war to force through their desired edit. Their edit was contested and instead of going to the talk page and building consensus they engaged in edit warring, I tried to pursue middle ground edits but they reversed these, going back to their desired version, and then I started the discussion on the talk page to end the constant reversals. The link I provided shows you the 2019 version and is the earliest one I can retrieve, here is the diff between that version and the current version (their desired version). This is the original edit which changed the long-standing version, an edit that was contested by me here. This resulted in the ensuing edit war by the two editors in question. At no point did they attempt to build consensus for their change but rather insisted that I pursue consensus to contest their edit in favor of the long-standing version, which already had implicit consensus by virtue of being there for at least half a decade. Perhaps I misunderstood you. You did ask me to show you that my version is the long-standing one, right? The link I provided shows that the version I'm arguing for goes back to at least 2019, which they changed now in September and I contested the change, which led to them continously reverting back to their desired change. Hence I'm not the one making a change, I'm reverting to the old, long-standing version which has had implicit consensus for years. Since their change was contested, it does not have consensus per WP:CON. Instead of seeking consensus, they simply continue to revert back to their version, regardless of any efforts I've made to reach common ground. Their constant reverting led me to start a discussion on the talk-page, to end their edit warring. Even then they continued to revert, instead of engaging properly in the discussion on the talk page. Besides reverting, all they're doing is levying allegations towards me, which leads me to believe that have no interest in actually finding a constructive outcome.
