Disambiguation link notification for December 26

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited X Factor Adria (series 1), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Get Lucky and Message in a Bottle (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

FAC comment

Hello, I nominated 4 (Beyoncé Knowles album) for FAC some months ago and it failed through a lack of consensus. I've nominated it again and would appreciate your support/comments/oppose on the FAC page, of course, if it's not your thing then feel free to disregard this! —JennKR | 20:58, 29 December 2013 (UTC)

Welcome to the 2014 WikiCup!

Hello Tomica, and welcome to the 2014 WikiCup! Your submission page can be found here. The competition will begin at midnight tonight (UTC). There have been a few small changes from last year; the rules can be read in full at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring, and the page also includes a summary of changes. One important rule to remember is that only content on which you have completed significant work, and nominated, in 2014 is eligible for points in the competition- the judges will be checking! As ever, this year's competition includes some younger editors. If you are a younger editor, you are certainly welcome, but we have written an advice page at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Advice for younger editors for you. Please do take a look. Any questions should be directed to one of the judges, or left on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup. Signups will close at the end of January, and the first round will end on 26 February; the 64 highest scorers at that time will make it to round 2. Good luck! Helping request

Hi there, Tomica. At first, I want to say Happy New Year to you, as I wish sometimes we could work together on Wikipedia. I really need your help on List of Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles of 2013. At the list's FLC page, a contributor said that the list was a fork from List of Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles of the 2010s according to criteria 3b of FLs. I tried to explain but I just don't know how (the same thing happened to my FLC of the 2012 list). Do you have any opinions about this? — Simon (talk) 08:55, 4 January 2014 (UTC)

It's OK, though Aaron also listed himself as nominator of the article. :) Thank you! prism 14:29, 4 January 2014 (UTC)

Can't Remember to Forget You

Hi Tomica! You being a member of Wikiproject Rihanna, and me being a member of Wikiproject Shakira, I think we should shake our hands and work together on "Can't Remember to Forget You". Initially I decided not to work on it since I wasn't very excited about it, but after hearing it I can't get it out of my brain, it's just that pop rock vibe that gets me. Are you interested in collaborating? Remember that we'll have to tolerate a lot of unwanted IP and careless user edits, and probably a genre war. I hope to work with you soon --WonderBoy1998 (talk) 17:26, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, I saw your comment about how you hate everything about Rihanna. And yeah as I already said to Wiki Redactor too I am here for collaboration on the article of course:). I like it also... It's a great combination of Reggae Pop and Pop Rock. Love how the vocals blend together perfectly! — Tomíca(T2ME) 17:31, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
Surprising I liked Rihanna's vocals in this song, so maybe I was hasty in my opinion regarding her. Nevertheless this song is great and deserves a great article on Wikipedia, which hopefully we can provide it with. --WonderBoy1998 (talk) 17:34, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
Her vocals slay here, they sound so tender. That's her power, she can provide different types of vocals for each song; compare this song to "The Monster", you will see what I mean. And yeah, we will give the best to make the article awesome. — Tomíca(T2ME) 17:38, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
Right now the IPs are busy adding a truck load of messy information. So I believe we should wait for them to have their fun, and then move in and clear the trashy bits. --WonderBoy1998 (talk) 18:39, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
Of course. Let them having fun a bit xD. Then we gonna attack with the clean up and adding stuff:). — Tomíca(T2ME) 18:47, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
I feel like soldiers --WonderBoy1998 (talk) 18:58, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

Hey

How are you?  — ₳aron 12:12, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

How are both you? Miss you a lot. I am doing much effort to be more active here lately. Hope to see you both around as well. If only Wikipedia could become how it was in 2011 again!!! Jivesh1205 (Talk) 12:57, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
Hey! I am fine, how about both of you? And yeah, I agree, Wikipedia has changed, our life too, I personally don't have much time and also lost interest in editing tbh. I just come here and there to check things. 2011 was an epic Wiki year :). — Tomíca(T2ME) 13:01, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
I am fine, thanks. Yes Tom, I really miss that time. I really try to regenerate my interest for editing but it seems like I cannot pull it back again. Anyway, how were your exams? Jivesh1205 (Talk) 13:09, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
Me too, it's not the same on here anymore :(  — ₳aron 13:56, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

Explanations/Dismissal

Please do not be so dismissive of explanations given. Also, my edit summary at "Hummingbird Heartbeat" had nothing to do with it being a single or staying. I explained on the talk page how there was poorly sourced info and unnecessary repetitions of content. It also had redundant uses of citations. It feels like you're just making excuses to revert me. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 15:45, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

I am not making excuses to revert you, it's just you are making stupid edits to the article. Removing Russel's pic ? Why? It can PERFECTLY stay! And also why removing sources and what's the problem with them? I can't see it. Just stop the whole drama you want to start. — Tomíca(T2ME) 15:47, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
I was not looking to start drama. Please don't call edits "stupid"- that's just plain condescending and rude. The pic is unneeded for the following reasons:
 1. He did not contribute any lyrics, vocals, instruments, production, or anything at all. Better to have a picture of someone who contributed to song.
 2. He has not performed any covers of the song, would be better to have pics of the song being performed
 3. It is redundant to say "was based on" or "was about" twice, which is what the photo caption was stating. Since that is all the info there is regarding him on this, a pic of him is just redundant.
"PopCrush" is not at all a reliable source. It is known for often fabricating information and often poorly supporting claims. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 15:56, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
Pop Crush is a perfectly reliable for GA's, and it's not reliable for FA's! And for the pic (LOL LOL LOL) those reasons are plain non-sense, because a picture of whatever significant to the song could be included. Katy wrote the song for Russel and his picture can PERFECTLY stay in the article. So don't try to bossy up on the article. — Tomíca(T2ME) 16:01, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
Not sure how a source is reliable if info it gives is often false. I wasn't trying to "bossy up" the article, though it isn't GA. Please don't laugh at reasons others give for things. It is rude, dismissive, unneeded, patronizing, and arrogant. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 16:17, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
And still this is my talk page. So bye! — Tomíca(T2ME) 16:19, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
Hi Tomica, while I agree that this is your talk page, referring to another user's edits as "stupid" isn't necessary, especially since XXSNUGGUMSXX is much more communicative than they used to be. In addition, coming to someone's talk page and discussing rather than continuing to revert was a piece of advice that I gave to XXSNUGGUMSXX, which they have followed; I'd rather them not end up feeling uncomfortable about something I recommended to them (and I say all of this as someone who has had disputes with XXSNUGGUMSXX in the past, but has since resolved those differences). Three months ago, I started a discussion on the article's talk page here, but it did not receive much response; would you consider participating there, please? It would be best for this to be resolved once and for all, rather than the slow-moving reverts continue. Thanks. Acalamari 17:49, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

Help

Hi. I seem to be being bullied by an editor with far more clout than me on Wikipedia. I was reverted here (without a legitimate edit summary) for revising the prose to adhere to WP:CHERRY-PICKING, and the editor did not show good faith when he reverted my civil message to him here. And now I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Dan56 (talk) 23:15, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi Dan. Yeah, I saw you have some problems, how do you want me to help? I will maintain the article and warn him if he does that edit again. Something else maybe? — Tomíca(T2ME) 23:18, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, could you comment at User_talk:GabeMc#Recent_edit? The editor just responds to me with his opinion on an album's genre and accusatory comments at me (like this one). I'd like to restore my valid revision, but that'll get me blocked :( Dan56 (talk) 23:42, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
I am talking at the Mark Arsten talk page at the moment with the user. Damn it! — Tomíca(T2ME) 23:45, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

Hello, could you please comment on my Featured List nomination (Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Natalia Kills discography/archive1)? Thank you! prism 12:44, 25 January 2014 (UTC)

Recent revert

Please don't revert without an explanation. By my reading, there is consensus to add R&B at talk. GabeMc (talk|contribs) 00:24, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

Where is that consensus? Cause I can't see it. — Tomíca(T2ME) 00:24, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
Well, just as many people as you + Dan agree. Talk:Unapologetic#GenresSee the talk thread, anyway, the article already contains sufficient text to add the genre, so you shouldn't blindly help Dan unless you know that what he is doing is correct, because I'm fairly certain that its not. WikiCup 2014 January newsletter

The 2014 WikiCup is off to a flying start, with, at time of writing, 138 participants. The is the largest number of participants we have seen since 2010. If you are yet to join the competition, don't worry- the judges have agreed to keep the signups open for a few more days. By a wide margin, our current leader is newcomer Smithsonian Institution Godot13 (submissions), whose set of 14 featured pictures, the first FPs of the competition, was worth 490 points. Here are some more noteworthy scorers:

Featured articles, featured lists, featured topics and featured portals are yet to play a part in the competition. The judges have removed a number of submissions which were deemed ineligible. Typically, we aim to see work on a project, followed by a nomination, followed by promotion, this year. We apologise for any disappointment caused by our strict enforcement this year; we're aiming to keep the competition as fair as possible.

Wikipedians interested in friendly competition may be interested to take part in The Core Contest; unlike the WikiCup, The Core Contest is not about audited content, but, like the WikiCup, it is about article improvement; specifically, The Core Contest is about contribution to some of Wikipedia's most important article. Of course, any work done for The Core Contest, if it leads to a DYK, GA or FA, can earn WikiCup points.

If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to help keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Do Ya Thang (Rihanna song) may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
 • | Recorded = 2011; Pelican Hill ((Newport Coast); Studio De La Grand Armee (Paris)

Help Please

Tomica could you please help to expand the music article of You're Mine (Eternal) by Mariah Carey, I wanted a large and professional one but I want a professional Help fidelovkurt 10:55, 14 February 2014 (UTC) Thank You

RiRi

I'll compromise with you, I'll keep pop as it's sourced if we can add R&B as the article states "musically Unapologetic is an R&B album with EDM, hip hop and dubstep, an Rolling Stones states "Unapologetic's stark, shadowy R&B" which I think should be included. THE GTA Guy (talk) 16:38, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

Hi, let's talk. Why are you reverting my edits? Why doesn't this article begin with a boldface name, birthdate, and proper lead? Yoninah (talk) 19:06, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

@Yoninah: Because you are probably confused. This is not Jake Gyllenhaal, it's Jake Gyllenhaal filmography, it summarizes just his filmography and not the whole of his life. And as I said, this is a list, not an article, list usually do not have sections. Check the examples I posted on the DYK nomination page. — Tomíca(T2ME) 19:08, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
OK, thanks for explaining it. Yoninah (talk) 19:12, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
