Hi Tom, I hope you don't mind me leaving a message here for you, but I've changed Template:Infobox planet/sandbox to make the left-hand column narrower using CSS (| labelstyle = width:9em;). The results are below. --RexxS (talk) 17:15, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've updated |labelstyle= to use max-width and created a |label_width= parameter which defaults to 9em, but can be set smaller or larger within reason. The third example has it set to 8em. --RexxS (talk) 18:18, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Usage example: | label_width = 10em , or any other valid width measurement, e.g. 100px (although em is preferred). Both | label_width = and omitting the parameter altogether use the default value (presently 9em). Setting a value equal to the width of the infobox (nominally 22em) will allow the browser to set column widths as if the parameter were not there.
