Hello.
Earlier this year, I was looking for articles to improve with the Random article feature. I came across a one-sentence stub: "Reidsville High School is located in Reidsville, North Carolina, United States."
Clearly, something was wrong. It was a one-line article on a high school. I had just finished a major set of updates to Texas' Humble Independent School District and was willing to take on a challenge. I renovated Reidsville's article and wrote three more stubs for the remaining schools: John Motley Morehead, Dalton L. McMichael, and Rockingham County. I also slightly updated the district's article, which had obviously been filled with many primary sources. Since then, I've done some other things with school articles, foremost one of the largest article creation drives in the history of schools, with 100 Arizona schools added in about two weeks.
Imagine my surprise today to find the article tripled in size!
Since you seem to be a local contributor, I highly encourage you to take a picture of the front of the school, release it into the public domain, and upload it to WP. North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball[edit]
I have quickfailed North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball (see Talk:North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball/GA1). The early part of the article is quite well referenced. In fact, it is examplary. However, at some point you seem to have lost steam and stopped referencing facts. The article badly fails WP:WIAGA 2a and 2b. College Baseball Template Request[edit]
Hi, I saw on the College baseball page that you requested a Template:Infobox NCAA Baseball Tournament. I just wondered how you envisioned this being different from Template:Infobox NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament? Were you looking for an infobox for conference tournaments or something different for the Regionals/Super-Regional Rounds? I'll see what I can work out if you'll give me an idea what you're after. - Just looked at the sandbox and so far that looks pretty much like I had in mind. Do you know if there is a way to make it where if the tournament is only played at one ballpark that you can put that information in and have the others (first round site, quarterfinals site, etc.) be hidden and vica-versa? Also, I don't know if the attendence is necessary, I've looked at several of these pages in different sports and haven't seen anyone use that category in a tournament format (even though it is on there). Plus, if the editor uses the correct template for the box score you can put the individual game attendences on there. Finally, I think with as spread out as these conference tourneys are, have the date(s) for the tourney would be logical. Just have the begin and end date for it. - Looks fantastic. Awsome job! Have discovered one thing though. If you wikilink the conference, it does not format correctly for the links at the bottom of the infobox for the previous and next year. I have no clue how to fix that or if you can fix it but just to let you know. Perhaps you can make it where it automatically wikilinks for the conference on the header. - The auto-wikilinks are pretty easy, I put those in. Would it be better to have the title link to the main tournament page? Rather than 2009 Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Tournament it would be 2009 Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Tournament? I could go either way, just looking for your thoughts. Hopefully I can get tournament dates added today or tomorrow. Still looking for some models of how other templates use those to see which one to borrow. - Looking it over, it links at the bottom as ACC Baseball Tournament so i think at the top it should just link to the conference. The other problem I'm noticing now, at least for the ACC, is that the tournament is listed as ACC Baseball Tournament so if you try to put in the conference as Atlantic Coast Conference instead of ACC, it doesn't link the years at the bottom correctly. Might have to do a seperate category for the year links at the bottom to avoid this issue. - I think the only question left for this template is do you think we should use this for the College World Series as well? I noticed that we have the template for the NCAA regionals and super regionals, but there is nothing for the actual CWS. I think this template would work great for it too. Your thoughts?
