Wednesday December 9, 7pm: WikiWednesday Salon and Skill-Share NYC

You are invited to join the Wikimedia NYC community for our evening "WikiWednesday" salon and knowledge-sharing workshop by 14th Street / Union Square in Manhattan.

This month, we will also host a Newcomer's Wiki Workshop for those getting started on the encyclopedia project!

We will also include a look at our annual plan and budget ideas, and welcome input from community members on the sorts of projects the chapter should support through both volunteer and budgetary efforts.

We welcome the participation of our friends from the Free Culture movement and from educational and cultural institutions interested in developing free knowledge projects. We will also follow up on plans for recent and upcoming editathons, and other outreach activities.

After the main meeting, pizza/chicken/vegetables and refreshments and video games in the gallery!

7:00pm - 9:00 pm at Babycastles gallery, 137 West 14th Street

We especially encourage folks to add your 5-minute lightning talks to our roster, and otherwise join in the "open space" experience! (One talk this month will be on use of Wikipedia press passes for photographers.) Newcomers are very welcome! Bring your friends and colleagues! --Pharos (talk) 13:38, 4 December 2015 (UTC)

Hello, Timotheus Canens. Can I ask you how to request an article about Stefan Ginchev (professional footballer)? I saw that an article with the same name was deleted before. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FightSong (talkcontribs) 15:18, 4 December 2015 (UTC)

My page

Hey Timothy. IVe been trying to find out why my page has been deleted? I'm a TV host currently on CNN and Dr Drew and curious what happened.

Please help me.

Thank you!

Hi Again

Got my previous message archived:

Hi. Back in 2010 I was banned from a topic. I believe you were the administrator that issued the ban. It's been years. You probably don't remember me. I can't (at least the details). An appeal of the ban was not successful at the time. I consulted AGK recently to figure out what to do as well. Here is the link to that discussion if you're interested. What I want to know is whether that process still has any repercussions to this day? If it does, how can I fix it? The reason I ask these is that I'm hoping to move on to a new account and read somewhere that such issues can carry on to the new account. The purpose is to have a complete clean start. If you're not the right person to ask these please refer me to the right person or the process in which to resolve this. Thank you. TheDarkLordSeth (talk) 09:38, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

Bumping it up to try one more time. TheDarkLordSeth (talk) 13:56, 11 December 2015 (UTC)

Sorry for not responding earlier. WP:AC/DS#Appeals and modifications would be the applicable appeals provision. I see that AGK has told you about the rule against clean start while under active sanctions. We generally require some substantial editing outside the topic area before lifting an indefinite topic ban, and I'm not seeing that here. T. Canens (talk) 23:31, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
I see. Well, looking back at my edit history (I'm as much of a stranger to it as the next person at this point), looks like I've always been a minor edit person. I likely continue to be so. If we look at my edit history we'd see that before the incident that granted the topic ban I had only a few minor edits. In fact, I only participated in two different pages before that. I think it would be fair to say that I was a new editor back when the incident happened. However, after the incident, I counted minor edits in 23 different pages of different variety. What would be substantial editing according to you when my edit history is considered? Also, just asking to know the procedure, do you have the authority on Wikipedia to overturn this topic ban you issued without the Appeals process? TheDarkLordSeth (talk) 11:53, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
I can, yes. The point is to see enough evidence of collaborative editing such that we are reasonably confident that the problems leading to the sanction won't recur if the sanction is lifted. The ~50 edits you made since your last appeal to arbcom was declined doesn't clear that bar. T. Canens (talk) 01:39, 16 December 2015 (UTC)
If I disagree I could still appeal this, right? Could you refer me to the proper channel to do it? It's still confuses me. There seems to be more than one channel where appeals take place. TheDarkLordSeth (talk) 08:24, 16 December 2015 (UTC)
