Financial export[edit]

I've connected Financial export to articles Economy of the United Kingdom, London, New York City, Bermuda, and the Cayman Islands. Are there any other suggestions you have for locations? I'm thinking the article might do better under 'Financial trade' so that it could include financial service import, as well as export, information.Nick Kerr 13:29, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

SVG railway maps[edit]

Incase you didn't notice, I replied to your question (plea?) on commons:Commons:Village_pump#SVG_artists_needed, and made Image:Wfm_sunderland_station.svg by way of illustration. If you're going to be producing more than a handful of similar diagrams, I can heartily recommend learning Inkscape to author them as SVGs. -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 16:21, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

london railway stations[edit]

Thanks for your support for renaming the Waverley station article. I have now put a request for it to be renamed as you suggested.

Do you think that the London railway termini should also be renamed? e.g. Euston station to London Euston station etc. This is particularly important for Victoria station (London) as there are several "Victoria stations" worldwide. Our Phellap 22:07, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject anti-war, Article improvement drive[edit]

February 15, 2003 anti-war protest an article from the WikiProject Anti-war, which you are listed as a member of, has been nominated for the Article Improvement Drive (by me ).

It is an article about a day of much importance both to the history of the anti-war movement and to general discussion of the Iraq war. With a little work from experienced editors it could gain FA status. If you would like to see it improved please vote for it at Make "February 15, 2003 anti-war protest" the subject of an Article Improvement Drive--JK the unwise 13:14, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your watchlist archive[edit]

Hi, just FYI: I took the libery of fixing the Image: and Category: links on your watchlist archive (User:Thryduulf/watchlist20060127). Remember to add a leading colon (:) to such links, otherwise you display the images inline and add the page to the categories. This causes problems because that page probably doesn't belong in those categories, and many of the images where fair use, meaning they are not allowed on a user subpage. Please keep this in mind with future archivings. Thanks. --Sherool (talk) 20:57, 28 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Parker vandalism[edit]

Greetings, Thryduulf!
Thanks for your suggestion on the Adminstrator's noticeboard re the troubles I've been having with James John Parker. I've been an administrator for some time, but this is the first time I've encountered repeated "vandalism" of this type--I put the word in quotes as I don't think it is in bad faith, just by someone who doesn't understand the rules of the road--and I've never had to protect an article. I've done as you suggested and "semi-protected" it. I'm grateful for your idea. PedanticallySpeaking 17:52, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Pedophilia[edit]

I meant to drop you a note about this, as you had expressed an interest in the project at WP:AN but I got caught up discussing the ArbCom case. This deletion is not a disguised censorship of the project, but a good faith (not necessarily correct, we'll see on WP:DRV) interpretation of user request; I will comment further on Deletion Review. I would not necessarily consider a new WikiProject Pedophilia written by the same or different authors to be recreation of deleted material, although such authors might like to consider alternatives such as creating the Project in Userspace or working with WikiProject Sex and Sexuality. I hope this clears things up a little, I'll go to WP:DRV to see what mistakes I'm supposed to have made ;) Physchim62 (talk) 18:35, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your comment at the deletion. I agree with Physchim62 that the project would likely have changed a bit in its nature if we had put it up for debate and outside input. If such a thing does come about, it will likely be in a more benign guise. I expected that, but Herostratus was a bit impulsive; however, he thought he has doing the right thing, and acted in good faith. We were just testing the water, trying to initiate a little discussion about the criticism in that department. But thank you for the comment and the defense; it was very bold of you. --DanielCD 21:20, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Thryduulf.

I edited a couple of image files a while ago and when I re-uploaded, because Wiki was very slow that day, the file history was lost. Anyway, I have a feeling that they may have been yours and was wondering if you could have a look, and if so, add the appropriate image tags (the images are flagged-as untagged ATM) I think they were originally GFDL and I'd add the tags myself, but obviously I'd rather not in case I'm mistaken.

If they're not yours then just ignore all this!

That's pretty hardcore. I should mention, I just noticed that the confusion over the letter 'R' in the Radial Ultra Cross game could be my fault. Someone put a word in this space and I removed it because it wasn't attached to anything, but I forgot to remove the square brackets around it too, so it was still a link and looked like an entry. I didn't realise this until someone else put a word underneath it. I've put an entry in the 'R' section now. Phileas 03:17, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lolicon[edit]

Hi Thryduulf. I'm not generally in the habit of replying to criticisms such as yours. However, I respect you enormously and would like to know more clearly how you came to your conclusions, in order that I might manage such a situation better in the future.

Why do you think my comment on Jimbo's talk page was self-righteous? I was brief, certainly, but I was attempting at all times to do my hardest to be calm, neutral and as non-imflammatory as possible. Secondly, with regard to the mailing list, I do realise that most people don't read the list. However, I find it easiest to form my ideas in a non-wiki form. Therefore I composed the email on the list, then made a link to the archive. I felt this was a good compromise, as it also avoided pasting the same text on multiple pages.

Once again, I apologise for taking rash administrative actions, and I apologise for questioning you like this.

Eyeonvaughan[edit]

For what it's worth, I didn't personally interpret that diff as CasanovaAlive actually accusing me and pm_shef of being the same person — I thought he was just addressing me by name at the beginning of his comment. Though I grant that it is a bit ambiguous in retrospect. Eyeonvaughan does frequently accuse me of being pm_shef's "administrative assistant" or some other dismissive epithet which implies an employee-type relationship, but I'm not personally aware of any time that he's explicitly accused us of being the same person. Bearcat 19:52, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I referred to you as Pm_shef's administrative assistant, not eyeonvaughan. And it was less accusatory than it was humorous... VaughanWatch 23:59, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am seeing red[edit]

(or more precisely Scarlet!) Captain scarlet seems to think that railway station articles should be called "<name> Station". See user talk:Captain scarlet, user talk:RHaworth and this edit. Given the tone of his replies, I think we might have difficulty persuading him to change his mind. Personally I am prepared to humour him providing he does not start moving articles about live stations. What do you think? -- RHaworth 04:34, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I suppose sarcasm would not be the way forward. I do not think, I know so, I've taken time to justify my position which is why I find yours totally unacceptable. I had thought of a compromise which involved not using railway but adding the suffix station without capitalised s (good enough no?), which has meant that I have not moved hundreds of articles and only restrained myself to closed stations which have been referred to as place railway station, but if continuing the humour on other members' talk pages is the forward I don't see it happening since each and every reply these past few days seems to ocncentrate more on lowering the tone than actual going forward. Categories for deletion nominations[edit]

I've been cleanup up the uncategorized categories list, and running across a lot of mistakes and duplicates. When I find that a category is a duplicate, I've been adding a link to the correct category inside the duplicate. That way, anyone who stumbles accross it by accident will know where to go. I also figured that anyone interested enough to vote on the CFD page would look at it and it's history. Since the proof is already there, I didn't go to the trouble this time.
