File permission problem with File:Tonthoi receiving Best Supporting Actress Award.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Tonthoi receiving Best Supporting Actress Award.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Steel1943 (talk) 18:09, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for December 27[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Manipuri cinema, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Manipuri. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Information icon Hi there! Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! 220 of Borg 04:42, 30 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Thounaojam Chinglemba. Note that the 'correct' syntax for putting a picture in an infobox is per my edit here:

" image=File:Mami_(Manipuri_Film)_Poster.png "
" |caption=Theatrical Release Poster "

is all that is needed. Generally thumbnails as you had:

" |image=[[File:Mami_(Manipuri_Film)_Poster.png|thumb|right|Theatrical Release Poster]]

are not used. 220 of Borg 04:52, 30 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:A scene from Phijigee Mani, Manipuri film.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:A scene from Phijigee Mani, Manipuri film.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Steel1943 (talk) 23:18, 30 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Leishangthem Tonthoingambi Devi, Manipuri Film Acress.jpg.

Thank you. Steel1943 (talk) 15:54, 31 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

December 2015[edit]

Information icon Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with File:Bala Hijam, Manipuri Film Actress.jpg. The issue stated in the speedy deletion tag was not resolved even you removed the tag. The issues stated in the tag must be resolved before the tag can be removed. Steel1943 (talk) 15:56, 31 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to remove speedy deletion notices from pages you created yourself, you may be blocked from editing. Stop refactoring the licensing tags on the files you uploaded to make the files seem free when they are actually not. At this point, you seem to be "gaming the system" to keep these files on Wikipedia though they are obviously copyright violations which you do not have permission to release as a free image, and also fail Wikipedia's Non-free content criterion (specifically WP:NFCC#1) if they were declared non-free. (The only uploads that you have performed thus far that meet Wikipedia's standards for inclusion are the film posters; those meet the non-free content criterion in their entirety, and can stay.) Steel1943 (talk) 18:13, 31 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem icon Your addition has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. All such contributions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. CactusWriter (talk) 18:58, 31 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Pratap Talkies, Manipuri Cinema Hall.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted content borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. CactusWriter (talk) 17:12, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Final warning[edit]

Thounaojam Chinglemba, please stop uploading photos which you have copied from other websites and copy-pasting text which you have copied from outside sources. Once again, I have had to delete large portions of articles you created with copyvio text. As well as deleted more images improperly copied to Wikipedia. Although I can appreciate your enthusiasm to create articles related to Manipuri Cinema, the persistent addition of images and text which violate Wikipedia copyright policies cannot be tolerated. Please read (and understand) our WP:Copyright policy -- Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright provides some quick answers. Copyright violations are taken very seriously and they must be removed immediately or they jeopardize the entire Wikipedia project. If you again add any copyright violations, you will be blocked from editing. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Do you understand the Wikipedia copyright policy? Welcome and some friendly advice.[edit]

Hi Thounaojam Chinglemba. It seems that you are fairly new to Wikipedia and therefore may not yet be familiar with many of its policies and guidelines. Wikipedia requires that pretty much everything added to articles be verifiable through independent, reliable sources. User-generated websites such as IMDb pages, open wikis, blogs, Facebook posts, Twitter tweets, etc. are generally not considered to be reliable sources for Wikipedia purposes because such content is usually not subject to some sort of rigorous editorial control and even Wikipedia itself is not considered to be a reliable source per WP:WPNOTRS. Article content is supposed to reflect what reliable sources say in our own words and only interpretations/claims supported by reliable sources should be added to articles per Wikipedia:No original research.

In addition, maintenance templates are often added to articles by editors to indicate concerns they may have about an article or possible issues that may require the attention of other editors. They are often linked to special pages where editors or bots experienced in dealing with such issues can find articles needing to be checked. Of course, if you fix the issue yourself, then feel free to remove the template, but you should not really remove them without addressing the relevant issue, especially ones that you did not add yourself.

If you have any questions about editing or are not sure what a template means, feel free to ask for assistance at the Wikipedia Teahouse. There are lots of editors there who are more than happy to answer any questions you may have. -- Marchjuly (talk) 08:17, 5 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from List of Manipuri films of 1972. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Regarding recent "File permission issue" tags[edit]

Since I've already corrected probably more than 20 of your license tag issues, I've marked the ones that still have issues as having "file permission issues" rather than fixing them myself. I'm doing this to help you understand that the licensing tags you are placing on your film poster uploads are incorrect: You have claimed (probably unintentionally) that they are released by their author under a free license when they are actually not. In a nutshell, the quickest way to fix this is to replace the section at the bottom of each page (the section labeled "Licensing"). You will need to replace this:

==Licensing==
{{GFDL}}
{{Category ordered by date|Files from freely licensed external sources|2016|##|##}}

...with this:

==Licensing==
{{Non-free poster}}

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:42, 13 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of List of Manipuri films of 1990[edit]

The article List of Manipuri films of 1990 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Stand-alone list of which does not seem to satisfy WP:LISTN. Two entries does not seem to be enough to justify an entire article, and this information is basically covered in Manipuri cinema. Only one of the entries has a stand-alone article, so if the other is removed this would be a list article with only a single entry.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

A tag has been placed on Category:Lists of Meitei films by year requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and it is not presently under discussion at Categories for discussion, or at disambiguation categories.

—swpbT 20:04, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
