I have gathered some data on article maintenance tags: namely, how many transclusions each tag known to Twinkle has (including transclusions via redirected titles).

Some observations:

  • Due to bugzilla:36195, some deleted pages are included in these results. This seems to affect some tags more than others. For example, {{Not English}} does not really have 66 transclusions.
  • This includes pages in all namespaces. This was probably a mistake. For example, {{in use}} only has 4 transclusions in article space as I write this.
  • There is a very strong argument for removing {{metricate}} from Twinkle's default set of tags.

I am aware that transclusion count is not the only criterion for adding/removing tags from Twinkle. Having said that, though, I think this data is quite useful for evaluating what we have right now.

Are there any other proposals for tags to be added or removed from the default set? — This, that and the other (talk) 02:40, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
