Question/suggestion[edit]

Question: why does your user page (Thijs! not link to anything? It is thus impossible to ask a question regarding the performance of your bot. Suggestion: from now on, check the "fixes" of your bot conscientiously. You have removed a nl interwiki for Pipa in the English Wikipedia that only needed a disambig, and removed the ja interwiki which was correct, if you read the article. It's great that you're are trying to help improve Wikipedia, but please try to watch this sort of thing more closely in the future. Badagnani 18:46, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I tried to solve the mixing of Biwa and Pipa, and for languages I don't know I have to rely on which other pages link to it, look at pictures, dates etc. In this case I thought I made a good decision, however, I cannot know everything and apparently made a mistake. About the link, I'll add one. Thijs! 22:28, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This bot recently added "nap:Decennio d''a inclusione d''e Roma" to Decade of Roma Inclusion but it doesn't work because of the apostrophes, and I can't figure out how to make it work. Can you help? -- TheMightyQuill 20:05, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Malfunction[edit]

Hi, Thijs!bot keeps adding nl:Bero_(motorfiets) to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernhard_Rosenkraenzer. While both refer to someone going by the name Bero, those people are certainly not identical - the one on the English page is about an active Free Software developer, the NL one is about a motor maker who died in 1925.

Fixed. Thijs! 14:10, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mably[edit]

Thanks for the good interwiki work you do. There's a difficulty with the article Gabriel Bonnet de Mably where bots add links to articles about the French commune of Mably. No big deal for me to remove them (Italian, Dutch and Polish), but it's happened twice in two days! --HJMG 10:34, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of interwikis[edit]

Please check the following edits BBB [1], Bargen, Berne [2], Altdorf, Switzerland [3]. -- User:Docu

Please check this as well: Ajax (programming) [4]. I know no Arabic so I do not know whether the interwiki is rightly removed or not. --Pkchan 14:27, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ajax is ok, it seems to be an disambiguation page, where the English page is not. By the way, it's Farsi (Persian), not Arabic. The removals on BBB and Altdorf UR are indeed incorrect, and have been corrected. The removal on Bargen, Berne is questionable, since one is about the village, and the other about the municipality. However, I don't have any preference, so the revert is ok to me. Thijs! 17:13, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Bargen, Berne and de:Bargen BE are about the same place. BTW, I reversed Brienz as well [5]. -- User:Docu
Dompierre, Fribourg, see [6]

Apparently the bot seems to think the German pages are disambiguation pages. Why this is, I do not know, but I will try to find out. In the mean time I will stop the automatic removals of interwiki-links, and only add new ones. Thijs! 20:25, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why are u editting sardhana page I think u have no right to do that so please do not do this thing again

Arieş[edit]

Why did you remove the Hungarian link from the Arieş article? --KIDB 06:38, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Because the Hungarian page does not exist. It is ok to warn me about false removals, but please check them first. Thijs! 11:59, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your bot linked this one with three other languages that did not refer to the player but instead linked it to a region or city in Spain. I might need some tweeking :p--Tiresais 12:53, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Your bot seems to want to try and link the Portugese article pt:DOS to the English article en:DOS and all other-language articles interwiki-linked by that article. However, the Portugese article is a disambiguation page for DOS (the fact that it includes DDoS implies that it's scope is outside of the DOS family of operating systems). However, although some articles such as the Danish version (da:DOS) look like disambiguation pages as well, their scope includes only the DOS family of poerating systems, and has the potential to be expanded into something resembling the English DOS article. Could you please undo the changes your bot has made to the various DOS articles today? I have already reverted the changes made to pt:DOS, en:DOS, da:DOS, and de:Disk Operating System, but as there are so many other languages linked to by DOS, I thought it was better if a bot sorted this out. Could you please sort this out? Ae-a 19:33, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind. The Portugese have now created pt:DOS (desambiguação), which contained the old content of pt:DOS which has now become an article about the DOS family of operating systems. This now means pt:DOS <-> en:DOS and pt:DOS (desambiguação) <-> en:DOS (disambiguation). I've just checked the links in both pages, for all the libnked languages, and the links are OK (unless someone messes them up). Ae-a 21:26, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
