May thanks

May songs
my story today

Thank you for improving articles in May. - I had a good story on coronation day: the Te Deum we sang that day. And the following day we sang it for the composer ;)

I nominated Soňa Červená for GA just to give her a bit more exposure, and I took some pics of bright scenery - click on songs. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:34, 20 May 2023 (UTC)

Congratulations to 50 DYK! I was reminded today - per OTD - of an article I wrote and brought to DYK five years ago, so I know also that checking them out from time would be a good idea ;) - I try. Today's story is a stage performer, and yesterday's was my most serious endavour (DYK 10 years ago), and I bet both hooks would not have passed in 2023 ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:28, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

my story today is that 300 years ago today, Bach became Thomaskantor, with BWV 75, writing music history. OTD is new to me, - I like it pictured even if it's the "wrong" pic, sort of. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:39, 30 May 2023 (UTC)

Notice of incomplete DYK review

Hey, I'm writing this to inform you that all of the issues you listed for the article on the Bud Light boycott have been remedied and it can continue its review on DYK. - Knightoftheswords281 (Talk · Contribs) 22:38, 31 May 2023 (UTC)

GalliumBot suggestion

I think that GalliumBot should include a suggestion that responses to "Hook modifications" should be made at WT:DYK. As it is now, it may seem logical to reply right there on the nom template's talk page (where nobody who can do anything about it in Prep or Queue is likely to see it). This suggestion was prompted by someone's comment at WP:ERRORS that they had not received any response to their previous request. When I couldn't find any such note at WT:DYK, I then found it on the template's talk page. MANdARAX • XAЯAbИAM 19:11, 2 June 2023 (UTC)

Sounds reasonable, Mandarax :) I'll figure out that implementation. theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 22:04, 2 June 2023 (UTC)
Thanks! MANdARAX • XAЯAbИAM 22:17, 2 June 2023 (UTC)

Sorry that you removed my article.

I could not have fulfilled my article because it was inelligible for any of the dyk in the dyk nomination creator, but I still want this article to be featured on June 24th! Therealgamer1234 (talk) 00:04, 16 June 2023 (UTC)

My apologies, Therealgamer1234, but I don't think there'd be anything DYK could do for you, then – we do take special occasion requests, but only when the underlying article qualifies by being new. Hope this helps, do come back when you have a qualifying article! theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 00:15, 16 June 2023 (UTC)
Well it was newly updated! Therealgamer1234 (talk) 00:19, 16 June 2023 (UTC)

my story today

I like today's Main page, and here's why ;) -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:45, 2 June 2023 (UTC)

@Gerda Arendt: I must admit, I find myself curious as to why the last few sentences of all of the {{UpdatedDYK}} notices on your page seem to have been removed? theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 22:30, 2 June 2023 (UTC)
I thought I explained that earlier (please check your archives, I have no time today, travel to class reunion), saying that the archive is now written automatically, and I often suggested what I found interesting, and it was not found interesting. You will notice that I also remove the ITN notices after a while, but keep an overview. Sadly, the current Main page has two of them, and three are open. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 04:23, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
Reunion was nice, a funny number of years after completing school, and also the lovely park where I spent many Sundays as a child. Today's story is quite dramatic, there's a yt trailer to the hook. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:12, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
Jörg Widmann is 50, and I began Stockholm pics. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:32, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
Today's story is about a singer whom I saw twice, not Wagner and Strauss, but Bach and Weill - more vacation pics! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:26, 21 June 2023 (UTC)

New Pages Patrol newsletter June 2023

Hello Theleekycauldron/Archive/2023,

New Page Review queue April to June 2023

Backlog

Redirect drive: In response to an unusually high redirect backlog, we held a redirect backlog drive in May. The drive completed with 23851 reviews done in total, bringing the redirect backlog to 0 (momentarily). Congratulations to Hey man im josh who led with a staggering 4316 points, followed by Meena and Greyzxq with 2868 and 2546 points respectively. See this page for more details. The redirect queue is steadily rising again and is steadily approaching 4,000. Please continue to help out, even if it's only for a few or even one review a day.

Redirect autopatrol: All administrators without autopatrol have now been added to the redirect autopatrol list. If you see any users who consistently create significant amounts of good quality redirects, consider requesting redirect autopatrol for them here.

WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team, consisting of Sam, Jason and Susana, and also some patches from Jon, has been hard at work updating PageTriage. They are focusing their efforts on modernising the extension's code rather than on bug fixes or new features, though some user-facing work will be prioritised. This will help make sure that this extension is not deprecated, and is easier to work on in the future. In the next month or so, we will have an opt-in beta test where new page patrollers can help test the rewrite of Special:NewPagesFeed, to help find bugs. We will post more details at WT:NPPR when we are ready for beta testers.

Articles for Creation (AFC): All new page reviewers are now automatically approved for Articles for Creation draft reviewing (you do not need to apply at WT:AFCP like was required previously). To install the AFC helper script, visit Special:Preferences, visit the Gadgets tab, tick "Yet Another AFC Helper Script", then click "Save". To find drafts to review, visit Special:NewPagesFeed, and at the top left, tick "Articles for Creation". To review a draft, visit a submitted draft, click on the "More" menu, then click "Review (AFCH)". You can also comment on and submit drafts that are unsubmitted using the script.

You can review the AFC workflow at WP:AFCR. It is up to you if you also want to mark your AFC accepts as NPP reviewed (this is allowed but optional, depends if you would like a second set of eyes on your accept). Don't forget that draftspace is optional, so moves of drafts to mainspace (even if they are not ready) should not be reverted, except possibly if there is conflict of interest.

Pro tip: Did you know that visual artists such as painters have their own SNG? The most common part of this "creative professionals" criteria that applies to artists is WP:ARTIST 4b (solo exhibition, not group exhibition, at a major museum) or 4d (being represented within the permanent collections of two museums).
