phrase cut at polstergeist[edit]

I corrected this, since it appears that you left out part of the sentence, and the result was ininteligible [1], can you check it out? --Enric Naval (talk) 19:10, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks. Any other "senior" user would have deleted it all mercilously without telling me why. You ARE different.
Besides, in "Poltergeist III" I don't believe the parents, Diane and Steven, sent Carol Ann away to the aunt because they wanted a break from all that spiritual trouble, I believe they loved her too much to even think such a thing. I just think they took deep note that all the women from Diana's side of the family are psychic so they decided to embrace it by sending her to a special school far away where they couldnt be with her at the moment. That and, as mentioned in the previous film "Poltergiest II", insurance DOES NOT cover houses disappearing into thin air (reference "Poltergiest I"), and so they were low on money to say it plainly and so you know the rest. Keeping Robert behind because HE wasn't all too potential for special abilities and because they wanted him to keep him on regular school. At least that's what I think. During movies I connect very strongly to these kinds of charecters. (For example) as far as Im concerned, Carol Ann is still alive despite her actresses death.

posting images[edit]

To post an image, click the picture frame (sixth button from the left) at the top of the page edit form. Replace "Example.jpg" with the file of the picture that you want to post. Sorry for any disrespect i may have conveyed to you. Erik the Red 2 (talk) 14:16, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, and no need for anyone to apologize. We're both obviously on edge about SOMETHING just recently. I know I am. I try not to take it out on others, but it's hard not to. The best way I've found is to just iscolate myself from contact entirely.
Like I said before, Thanks. But I still have one more question. "Replace "Example.jpg" with the file", from where?ThegreatWakkorati (talk) 12:16, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
the name of the image file like "flag of greece.jpg" for a pic of a greek flag. it should say it at the top of the browser if you click "view full sized image" on google. Erik the Red 2 (talk) 23:47, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've got to say: I spent all this time trying to follow the advice you gave me, but now I'm even more confused than ever! Look, I don't really need to post imges that badly, which is why I digress to bring up the more important subject.
The Powerpuff Girls episodes section needs articles for EACH individual episode. But the leader of updating the Cartoonnetwork articles is too lazy to consider the idea. So I need much help. I'd go at it alone but I don't know how to create valid articles linked to specific text.
It's would take too long for you to go into detail about the article creation and such. But if you could:
1. Create an article
2. fill it with little tidbits of exclusive information so it doesn't get deleted immediately or mark it with some sort of tag that says it will shortly be updated(by me((it doesn't have to say "by me" specifically but I WILL get to it as soon as you've created it and further fill it up until it is worthy of being called an article))).
The plot all comes together. The only thing I need is cooperation...that, and you MUST NOT tell treelo. He/she doesn't like me at. ThegreatWakkorati (talk) 10:01, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Image:Kathleenherles 110207 300.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Kathleenherles 110207 300.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Image source problem with Image:Dora-boots-monkey.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Dora-boots-monkey.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:20, 17 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 14:20, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Image:Dora-boots-monkey.jpg. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Gwernol 23:05, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Parrot or Polly, whatever the hell his name is, already said that. Still I don't get why. I got the sources, now what more do you want?ThegreatWakkorati (talk) 14:27, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Its not a question of sources. These are clearly copyrighted images. Unless you have written, legally binding permission of the copyright holder to release these under the GFDL or as public domain images you cannot upload them to Wikipedia. If you upload them again, as you threatened to do on my talk page, without the permission of the copyright holder, I will remove them and block you. Breach of copyright in this way put both yourself and Wikipedia at legal risk. Thanks, Gwernol 15:20, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reply[edit]

OK if you're seeking to get permission from a copyright holder to use an image under a free license then follow the steps outlined here. Though I doubt that the copyright holders of Dora the explorer will give you permission, you'd be better off using a fair use rationale for those images. Polly (Parrot) 14:43, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Well It's just unlikely that the copyright holder will release those commercial images under a free license, so fair use would be your best bet. Now in regards to Kathlene Herles if you wanted a free image of her your best bet would be to email here representation and ask if they will release a promotional picture under a free license. Polly (Parrot) 14:57, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • OK, here's an example of an image with licensing and fair use rationale Image:Donald duck debut.PNG you'd need to do the same for the animated images you upload. Wikipedia doesn't allow (or only in exceptional circumstances) non-free images of living people hence my advice regarding the Kathleen Herles image. I hope this is making sense to you. Polly (Parrot) 15:19, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What's the tag you put on unfinished articles so they don't get speedy deletions? How do i put them on my unfinished article?

  • If it's been tagged for speedy deletion then add {{hangon}} below the deletion tag, giving a reason why you believe deletion is wrong on the article's talk page. If it hasn't been tagged and you're actively working on it you could add {{under construction}} to the top of the page and this should hopefully give you a bit of time to expand the article. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, you may not know that Wikipedia has a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Vandalism to User Page[edit]

Hey, just wanted to let you know that you user page was vandalized today. It was reverted and the user was warned, though. Erik the Red 2 (AVE·CAESAR) 23:16, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've raised concerns...[edit]

...about you at WP:ANI. See this thread. J Milburn (talk) 17:11, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

You have been blocked for 24 hours due to your repeated assumptions of bad faith and attacks against other users. Wikipedia is a collaborative project, and attacking other users is unhelpful and disruptive. I would encourage you to review some of our policies while you are blocked to gain a better understanding of why your edits have been reverted or deleted in the past. You are welcome to contest this block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below this message. Once posted, administrators will review your reasoning and recent conduct. In the future, please make an effort to be more civil to other users and consider dispute resolution if discussion isn't getting you anywhere. Hersfold (t/a/c) 17:25, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

{{unblock}}

You aren't supposed to block without proper discussion peticularly with the user you are requested to block.ThegreatWakkorati (talk) 17:41, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Given your repeated personal attacks and your insistence on ignoring WP:BLP, it is clear that the block is entirely justified. There is no requirement for "proper discussion with the user". Gwernol 18:01, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to bug you but there's a sitch[edit]

This user: J Milburn, won't stop bothering me and overall being a nuisance. I don't expect you to do anything TO her/him, I just want them blocked from posting on my talk page. If you have not yet found out why, try getting to know her/him.

Tell me something, when you delete someone's information on an unfomous page, do you:

A. State the reson why in the delete review/excuse then go about your buisness and wait until that person just might see the changes on their watchlist?

or

B. Personally be the one to do it and go right on over to their talk page and tell them how "sorry" you are but you did what you "had" to do?

But then there is,

C. Make sure they don't find out about it.

I preferably DID NOT want to know and it's only common sense that YOU SHOULD NEVER bring a subjuct up about it on that same persons talk page.

I don't care, just grant me a restraning order against her/him. One of us may make threats directly to one another, but it is the simple concept that the system enables the contact, that provides the most important ingredient of disaster: Method. ThegreatWakkorati (talk) 17:37, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is no mechanism to stop particular editors from editing a particular page. Even if there were I would certainly not consider this an appropriate use of such a mechanism. Its perfectly reasonable to warn editors when they are breaching our rules. In fact its our policy that you be warned if you breach policy. Since you repeatedly ignored those warnings, you have been blocked. If you don't want to be warned about breaking the rules, don't break the rules. You should also stop attacking those editors who are trying to maintain the quality of Wikipedia articles. Thanks, Gwernol 18:04, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Are you aware that J Milburn is an admin on Wikipedia? He has been granted admin status because the community feels that he embodies what Wikipedia is about. Trying to claim that he doesn't know what he's doing instead of trying to understand his calm, reasoned comments to you won't help you to continue your Wikipedia career in good standing. Corvus cornixtalk 18:29, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You may also notice that Milburn showed admirable restraint in not blocking you himself. Please calm down, and remember that just because you write something here doesn't mean nobody else has the right to change it. Hersfold (t/a/c) 19:13, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Block extended[edit]

Look, I get that you're pissed off, but the death threat was obviously too far. I've blocked this account indefinitely, which is apparently what you wanted.

Take a week off. If, after that, you ever change your mind, email me and let me know you're willing to play by our rules, that you'll retract and apologize for the death threat, and you want to resume productive editing.

You've said before you don't apologize for things. If that's true, then I guess you won't be back. --barneca (talk) 22:30, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
