Song lyrics

There are two ways to deal with song lyrics in Wikipedia:

1. If the song was written before 1934, you post the lyrics in Wikisource.

January 2010

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on The Beatles. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Sock puppet

As you know, votes in a poll on Talk:The Beatles led to suspicion that you were involved in sock puppetry, and specifically, that you had voted using two accounts to create the illusion of greater support for your position. You subsequently responded that the vote from the IP address was done by your brother, not by you. Please be aware that when multiple editors share an IP address, they are treated as one person for the purposes of WP:SOCK, and sock puppetry is a very serious matter on Wikipedia. I urge you to review WP:FAMILY for some important advice for editors who live or work together and share a computer or an internet connection.

I consulted an administrator about this issue. His advice was to give you an "only warning", i.e., a warning that clearly indicates that a repeat offense will lead to a loss of your editing privileges. In my opinion, that was a fair response, and a moderate one, as by my reading of WP:SOCK, admins can impose an immediate indefinite block for violations of the SOCK policy. (See WP:SOCK#Blocking)

He also suggested that you should strike the vote by the IP. I had already moved the vote into a different section of the talk page, and so I don't think you need to do anything there.

Lastly, when informed that you claimed your brother had cast the vote, he suggested that I direct you to WP:BROTHER, a sarcastic essay that is not part of WP policy but may help you understand why claims that "my brother did it" are not an effective defense. — John Cardinal (talk) 22:36, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

With regard to your reversions of my edits. Bronchopneumonia is not induced/caused by AIDS, it is a complication of the immune deficiency effect of AIDS. Additionally please check WP:MOS before giving lectures on number formatting on Wikipedia. It is not a British-English thing. On Wikipedia any number below nine is written out, any number above nine is numeralised. Please check your facts (and grammar) before lecturing and reverting, thereby causing an edit war. Muse

Hello, I just discovered that you also edit on Queen wikia. BTW, I just stumbled across the Muse page that you edited over there, and I hope you don't mind that I point out some details.

1. United States of Eurasia does get the most comparisons to Queen out of the band's entire discography, but Knights of Cydonia comes a pretty close second. Also, there's a part in USOE where it sounds like they're about to go straight into the chorus We Are The Champions.

2. You may wanna mention the similarities between Matt Bellamy's and Freddie's style of singing (vocal histrionics, operatic flourishes, etc.)

3. Both bands have had to endure harsh criticism from music critics at the beginning of their careers.

4. Muse have been compared to Queen even all the way back to their first (or second) album. I found an old review from NME referring to Muse as Radiohead being lead by Freddie Mercury.

5. Black Holes and Revelations was the album that made Muse global superstars as was A Night at The Opera for Queen, but Absolution and Sheer Heart Attack were more of the breakout albums for both bands, as they went from being little-known to having popularity. It was also the third album for both bands, and those albums established their presence on both sides of the Atlantic.

6. Both Matt and Freddie have the uncanny ability to hear a song and replicate exactly what they heard on a piano. Also, neither can read music.

7. Even though Matt is frequently compared to Freddie as a frontman, he also has just as much, if not more in common with Brian May. Both sing, play guitar and piano quite proficiently, and both receive a lot of praise for their guitar playing. Both have also had their playing styles compared to Jimi Hendrix.

8. Brian presented Muse with the Kerrang award for Best British Band back in 2001. He has also complimented Muse on The Resistance, saying that "I love it, I think it's great stuff," and also added "I think they're very good boys and extremely talented, and like us they have their tongue in cheek a lot of the time". He also called United States of Eurasia "brilliantly done".

9. Brian's first band was called 1984, after George Orwell's novel, right? Well, The Resistance is inspired and partially themed by the same book.

10. Muse's drummer Dominic Howard has stated he would like Don't Stop Me Now to be played at his funeral. He is also good buddies with Roger Taylor.

11. Both Matt and Freddie hold Jimi Hendrix in high regards, and cite him as one of their biggest influences.

12. OK, this bit of trivia may not have much to do with musical similarities, but like John Deacon, bassist Christopher Wolstenholme is the quietest member of Muse, was the first to get married, and has 5 kids (just one less than John).

Not related to Muse, but since I was on the website, I was browsing throughout it, and there's this one mistake I've got to point out: Queen aren't the second best-selling artist of all time. The List of best-selling music artists says otherwise (with sources).
