Autopatrolled granted[edit]

Hi TheKaphox, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the patroller right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! ~ Rob13Talk 15:31, 15 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong close/Revert[edit]

I have only reverted that meant by wrongdoing. Let the vote process decide to Keep or Delete. You participated as Keep Vote. It is not correct approach to Keep by your self. People have put effort to give significant discussions. Let it be independent. Previous Keep close was questionable. Light2021 (talk) 17:17, 25 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Light2021: The discussion has been open for 10 days. Please read WP:AFD. It has been open for long enough, a community consensus has been reached, and the discussion can be closed. I'm sorry that you didn't get the result you would've hoped for, but you shouldn't revert the closure of an AfD discussion. There are six votes to keep, and three to delete. That is enough of a consensus. TheKaphox T 17:22, 25 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
    • Definitely I can see and everybody can see your line of discussions as well as Keep vote and hoe it has been done. No substance why anyone keep this. I am sorry it is disappointing to you, as you yourself reached the consenses and interpreted the result and closed yourself where you voted as keep. Light2021 (talk) 17:25, 25 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
      • @Light2021: How can you determine the result as anything other than keep? Can you count? TheKaphox T 17:52, 25 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
        • As per the Wikipedia, counting votes are not the tool for measurement. the person who is for "Keep" or "Delete" can not close the AfD. It must be done by someone else, or by Admins for fair decisions. Every one has right to express their view with freedom. But the last close made by the questionable editor who were merely counting votes or relisting articles who were nominated/voted for delete, as seen and investigated by others as well. That is the only reason I reverted, else I will never revert any Keep or Delete decision if made by consensus or neutral point of view. and I don't determine what to keep or delete. It is community decision finally that I respect, and I do what I do. :)Light2021 (talk) 18:19, 25 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
          • @Light2021: See, an admin has no closed the debate, and the result was keep. What was the need for you to cause unnecessary hassle? TheKaphox T 00:50, 26 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I see you added an AfD tag to John Cranfield but you haven't created the actual deletion discussion, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/John Cranfield. If you don't create the discussion the AfD tag will be removed from the article. -- GB fan 21:47, 4 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Genius as a reliable source[edit]

Sorry but there's nothing to debate here. I accept the unability of social media to be a reliable source, but as the user on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums#Genius as a reliable source said, is an open-wiki, that's the reasons why it's unreliable. You're basicaly ignoring what any user could think except you and your Wikipedia friends. I can ask an admin if you want. I'm not stupid. Anonpediann (talk) 21:20, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

P.D: anybodys discusing anything because its too clear. And where's someone discusing Sacrifices as a single? Who even said something about releasing the song as a single? Anonpediann (talk) 21:22, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I do not ignore anyone - hence why I'm participating in a (hopefully constructive) discussion on the Nightride talk page. Inferring that I would ignore anyone, and saying that I'm merely aligning alongside my "Wikipedia friends", violates WP:PERSONAL. I appreciate the comments of the user at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums, and I have invited him to voice his thoughts in the discussion at Talk:Nightride. Thanks, TheKaphox T 21:27, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Can you please stop threating me and answer to my questions? Fundamentals of Sacrifice being a single? Genius being reliable being an open wiki? Anonpediann (talk) 21:37, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
How have I threatened you? I did not add that "Sacrifices" was a single, so I do not know why you are asking me about that. Regarding Genius, it is more reliable than some dubious Twitter comments. When I added the reference, there were absolutely no references for the producer credits. There are definitely more reliable sources, but none have been cited thus far. TheKaphox T 21:42, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
But you and Livelikemusic keep tearing down my intents of clearing that Sacrifice is not a single and another fake credit that i cleared up, being said its an Edit warring just beacuse without researching what i modified you tear down all my edits, being some of them attached to it. It affects me of course because they can block me for that. You know more sources? I can't find more. If you know, just show them up, please! Don't you just want the page to be better? Anonpediann (talk) 21:58, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The discussion is about whether Genius is a reliable source or not. There are more reliable websites than it, but at the moment, there aren't any for Nightride. TheKaphox T 21:59, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open![edit]

Hello, TheKaphox. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Marking major edits as minor[edit]

I asked another user earlier to not mark edits where they are adding substantial amounts of content as minor, and it appears you're doing the same thing. Adding 1 KB of a data to a page (such as Maluma here) is in no way a minor edit. WP:MINOR states: "A check to the minor edit box signifies that only superficial differences exist between the current and previous versions. Examples include typographical corrections, formatting and presentational changes, and rearrangements of text without modification of its content. A minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute." I originally noticed this on "I Would Like", where you added categories and marked a significant addition of content as minor. Please only use the minor edit checkbox when you make actual minor edits of changing several bytes of data, like fixing typographical errors. Ss112 12:08, 3 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Ss112: I marked the Maluma and I Would Like edits as minor because a vandal had removed the infobox, I was simply re-adding it, and because I was only making format changes to the infobox on I Would Like - i.e. using hlist and adding links. I appreciate your concern still, and I will definitely take it into account in the future. Thanks, TheKaphox T 12:27, 3 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Creating unnecessary redirects for Kylie Minogue songs[edit]

Was it really necessary to create hundred of redirects for Kylie Minogue songs from all of her albums? I thought you said last year that you were going to create redirects in moderation and with the implication to create them when they were helpful, not create redirects adding "(song)" and "(Kylie Minogue song)" to the titles of articles that don't need them and probably never will. You went way overboard on this one, and I think you need to chill out with the redirect creation. Redirects for songs from a new album or a project you're working on, yes. Hundreds of redirects for old songs, no. Ss112 07:33, 14 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Ss112: I understand where you're coming from - however, I disagree. I don't think that the release date of an album should affect whether a redirect is made. If an album came out in 2017, the non-notable songs from that album should be redirected towards it, as would an album released in 2001. Every redirect I made was a valid term, and helpful to those who were trying to find that particular song. Thanks, TheKaphox T 11:22, 14 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
My main concern was not how old it is. Also, they are not valid search terms, because most readers who are not editors do not type in "(song)" or any disambiguation appended to the title of a page. If they typed in Especially for You, they'd find it immediately. You creating redirects like Especially for You (song) anyway if not on the generated search results page; or c) if they are editors, be thinking those are necessary. By even being able to create redirects with "(song)" and "(Kylie Minogue song)" added, you are essentially confirming there are no other songs of those titles, so nobody has a need to type in any additional disambiguation. Since there are no other songs of those names, you just created at least 200 entirely useless redirects that will most likely never have any use. If there is another song that gains notability as a song called "Especially for You", your redirect would be deleted in order to move the page there anyway, again rendering your creation of it now useless. I think you are still unaware of the right time to create redirects and when is not. Ss112 15:39, 14 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have to agree with TheKaphox here. Nothing wrong with creating redirects for valid terms. ---Another Believer (Talk) 00:43, 15 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Oh. I see there's a discussion. @Another Believer: if the redirect is (Kylie Minogue song) then fine, but not (song). I have corrected Mr. President (song) and Sleeping with the Enemy (song) to redirect to the dab pages. Other songs exist. In ictu oculi (talk) 09:00, 15 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Likewise Mighty Rivers. Cheers. In ictu oculi (talk) 09:10, 15 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry to add a third comment I Feel for You (song) already has a Prince song at I Feel for You, I have changed redirect which was created from Kylie album to Prince song. Cheers. In ictu oculi (talk) 15:45, 15 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Looking for an Angel can you please help with fixing the others? Not getting at you. Cheers and thanks. In ictu oculi (talk) 11:20, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@In ictu oculi: Yes, I will get on to it soon. Thanks, TheKaphox T 18:19, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Another Believer: There's no reason anybody would be typing in Especially for You (song) or Especially for You (Kylie Minogue song) when Especially for You already exists and there's no other notable song by that name. They're not valid. Can you think up a reason? Because I can't. Ss112 22:39, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia:Redirects are cheap, and we are spending more time discussing these harmless redirects than working on more important Wikipedia tasks. ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:41, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Another Believer: That's an essay, not a policy. Neelix got in trouble with this a few years ago. Sure, his redirects were more ridiculous but the general consensus from editors was hundreds of redirects that get no hits from visitors helps nobody. Y'all don't wanna go down this path of creating hundreds of unnecessary redirects. If you think you can't ever be reprimanded or questioned because "I was trying to help out", I think you're mistaken. Ss112 22:48, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Ss112: Correct, it is an essay and not policy - however the essay accurately reflects my views on the matter, and I assume that of User:Another Believer too. TheKaphox T 22:50, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) I'm not going to argue about this any more, I have more important tasks to tackle. Life goes on just fine whether or not the redirects are deleted, I'm just expressing my opinion that redirects are fine. ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:52, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Redirects are fine, when created in moderation. Hundreds upon hundreds of them, trying to account for every little thing you think people are going to type in (but actually won't, because the claim here is that you're trying to help out readers, not other editors, and they have no reason to type in "(song)" or "(Kylie Minogue song)" themselves if they can find the article to begin with), however, are not. Uploading a duplicate and tagging the original as orphaned is unacceptable conduct. The duplicate png file qualifies for speedy deletion under the F1 criteria. Please refrain from attempting to disrupt Wikipedia by file warring. Regards, Wes Mouse Talk 15:09, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Wesley Mouse: Hello. The image may have seemed as though it was simply a duplication, however the new image I uploaded is superior - as it uses .png - which is the preferred file type for album/single cover artwork. Please see WP:MoS/Images. Regards, TheKaphox T 16:29, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No where in WP:MoS/Images does it stipulate that png is far superior to jpeg files. It does however, state that both versions are as useful as each other. Perhaps linking the png version on the original jpeg file to show that other versions are available, thus neither versions will become orphaned. Wes Mouse Talk 12:52, 27 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Architects (song)[edit]

Hello. In regards to NSONGS for this song, in my opinion, this song qualifies as notable because it fulfills criteria number two: The single or album has appeared on any country's national music chart.

While I do agree this article is a work in progress, I believe that it shouldn't be reverted to the album. If the problem is a lack of sources, I have located some sources that require looking through and adding. Thanks. --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 23:36, 4 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, Twinkle is programmed to notify the original creator of the page, and doesn't know how to distinguish "created an article" from "created a redirect and then somebody else converted it into an article". My apologies, but it's an automated part of the process which I had no power to stop or to redirect the notification to someone else — it came to you because that's what Twinkle is programmed to do. Complaints have been filed about this in the past with the Twinkle programmers, because what happened here isn't exactly rare, but I don't think there's any easy way to fix it. Just letting you know, I've redirected Me enamoré to José Feliciano's album, as the only difference is the capital E, and that album also contains a song of the same name. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Farrah Moan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:List of songs recorded by Fergie, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:36, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, TheKaphox. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "List of songs recorded by Fergie".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 16:01, 28 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Disco[edit]

My cousin alerted me today to a strange fact on the Kylie Minogue 'Got To Be Certain' page: the song was referred to as a 'disco song'. He edited the page and, as the song has always been classed as dance pop before and is clearly not disco, inserted the correct information. I took a look through the history and discovered you have altered the reference from 'pop dance' to 'disco' without explanation over a few years whenever the wrongful information is corrected. Not sure why. I checked the link at AllMusic which does not refer to the song as 'disco'. While disco was undergoing something of a revival in the late 1980s and the early 1990s, 'Got To Be Certain' was never part of that and the link you used does not list it as that. Please do not alter information without reliable citations - which do not include opinion pieces in local newspapers. Thank you.

A few questions on your recent edits to ORION[edit]

Hello! I noticed a few of your edits on the ORION album article, and I had a few questions. Firstly, your claim that Litost is X Ambassadors’ debut album. Notice that on the page for VHS, it states that VHS is their debut album. That is supported by the fact that the band themselves have stated that VHS is their debut album. Secondly, your de-stylization of KIDinaKORNER. On all other articles that refer to that label, including the article for KIDinaKORNER, the stylization is used. I would like to know why you change those two things only on the article for ORION, but no other article. WildChild300 (talk) 10:53, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@WildChild300: Thank you for your comments. Orion is X Ambassadors' third album, thank you for pointing out the innacuracies on the VHS article. I will correct them shortly. As for the stylisation of Kidinakorner, we do not use the CamelCase format, as guided in MOS:CAMELCASE. Thanks. TheKaphox T 14:36, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your unnecessary moving of Kylie Minogue images[edit]

Hi. This policing of images relating to Kylie Minogue is unnecessary and you need to stop. It really just seems like you're looking for things to do relating to Kylie Minogue because you are a fan of her. You are citing WP:FNC#6, however that clearly doesn't apply. Images for each one of Minogue's singles or albums is not what "set of images" is referring to here; it clearly states "Harmonize file names of a set of images (so that only one part of all names differs) to ease their usage in templates (e.g. diagram symbols, scans of pages of a book, maps)". These images are not icons being used in templates or somewhere where they are all grouped together. You additionally cited WP:FNC#5 when moving the artwork for Minogue's Sleepwalker EP with Garibay because it was "incorrect"—nothing was incorrect, you just didn't credit Garibay when you uploaded it. Omission is not always error. As long as the file name is clear and not ambiguous, you do not need to move it. I'm aware you uploaded a fair few of those images yourself, but this is just unnecessary and I think if you continue to do so, you're blatantly misusing your additional rights as a file mover. File moving as a tool does not exist to make all image file names uploaded for an artist's works consistent and pretty to set fans' minds at ease. Ss112 18:21, 25 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Ss112: I hear your point, I understand and will not continue to act in this manner. I never intended to abuse my file moving permissions, my main aim was to organise a set of images, however I now understand that this is not the use of WP:FNC#6. Apologies for the ordeal, and I will not do this in the future. I will continue, however, in my work to replace jpg/jpeg artwork with png artwork where possible and where superior. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Template:Lil Nas X requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. --woodensuperman 08:14, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Queen of Katwe Soundtrack.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Queen of Katwe#Soundtrack. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:09, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Grace Carter (singer) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Launchballer 20:34, 3 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Launchballer: The article has a variety of reliable sources. Was this a mistake? TheKaphox T 21:36, 3 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
No, because at the time I prodded the article there were no sources in the article. It wasn't until I checked the history that I discovered that they had been removed by a vandal a couple of months ago. For future reference, please spread out your references, because only one of the four references contained "Paul Phillips".--Launchballer 22:13, 3 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:A Kylie Christmas – Live from the Royal Albert Hall 2015.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:A Kylie Christmas – Live from the Royal Albert Hall 2015.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 4 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Chloe Bailey a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Chlöe. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. — Status (talk · contribs) 14:34, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Cascada - Last Christmas.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Easily conveyed in text, or insufficiently supported by critical commentary. Not contextually significant to the Christmas hit song by Wham!

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:01, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
