Laraque

I am on the fence on whether to include Laraque...he is technically a member of the roster, but there are usually exceptions on the Wikipedia roster sites in these cases. For example, if a player is sent to the minors on conditioning, he remains part of the 23 players but we remove him from the roster. Yeah, its a grey area. I certainly think listing him as a "free agent" on his article is factually wrong. As far as the Habs roster template, I think if the league continues to list him as a scratch (go to any game recap on NHL.com, go to "game reports" and then "roster report" [1]) then I think he should be listed. Tonight is the first game since this announcement. I would base my stance on those roster reports over the next week. Do you know more about the situation? Why don't they waive him? He has a no-trade clause, so waivers were not a possibility. I agree with the official rosters, as long as this is consistent all the time. FlameMoth (talk) 16:40, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

BC comic strip

Hello Ccwaters. Thanks for the link to the COI page. I will keep these guidelines in mind. as you can tell, I'm new to Wikipedia!  :) Thanks for your help with the dog strip and for adding the Hockey info. I need to find some refs from the Binghamton Press to back up the info I added about all the cartoonists gathering every year at the BC Open. Maybe this info would work better on the Johnny Hart page? Another question: Is it okay to delete info when the links do not work any longer? ie: links 1, 3, 4 and 5 on the BC comic strip page, go to blank pages.Ppom55 (talk) 20:01, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

Template:2009–10 NHL Eastern Conference standings

Out of simple curiosity, is there a reason why we (we, in this case, being the collective WikiProject Ice Hockey) prefer the use of lower-case characters to display league/conference/division title winners? In all honesty, I'm not really that fussed by your revision of my edit, but I personally feel that the use of an upper-case character is more aesthetically pleasant. Not speaking for him, but lowercase is the standard that most (if not all) newspapers use when also displaying the same thing. I am guessing because this is the same standard that is used in proper writing for footnotes, which these essentially are. -DJSasso (talk) 23:52, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

Hockey teams

Thanks for the heads-up about the league category; I've fixed that. Clearly wasn't paying enough attention — which probably justifies and/or explains the afternoon nap I just woke up from.

Regarding the general idea of categorizing by country, I'd note that Canada and Norway already have separate subcategories (and have had for a long time); there was also already a category for Pennsylvania (though not for any other US state). Just as an example of why a US category is useful, until I funnelled it into the US subcat Billings Bighorns wasn't in any US-related categories at all except for the stubs one — it was only in Category:Defunct ice hockey teams and Category:Western Hockey League. 2010 Stanley Cup

Hey, I just wanted to say that it looks like you and a few others are doing yeoman's work in beating back constant premature edits to the 2010 bracket. I was involved in the debate over how to (re)design it, and I think we really hit upon a design that does as good a job as can be done of visually showing how the concept of re-seeding works. the albany devils

i seriously have no idea why you continue to delete a page when the devils are coming to albany. even though there has not been official announcement, its been leaked in almost every media outlet in the northeast. nothjersey.com has it, the lowell sun has basically announced it, there local radio stations have pretty much announced it and have even disclosed the letter written by lou larimell to the lowell devils booster club. you seriously have no clue and shouldnt be deleting someone for having announcements on here about these things. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mofoca22 (talk • contribs) 20:44, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

The skyline pano belongs somewhere in the article. I readded it, but following the WP:LEAD instead of in above it. If you don't like it there move it somewhere else in the article, but don't remove it. If you move it drop me a note. Glen Metropolit

You removed the note about Metropolit being the only player to have played for both the Atlanta Knights and Atlanta Thrashers. This is hardly "trivia" and it was the only mention of his Atlanta Knights appearance in the article. I see you've been dealing with the same IP user at Template:Philadelphia Flyers that I have at Template:Philadelphia Phillies. This is a long-term pattern of abuse on the original research policy, so I thought you might be interested to know that I gave the address a block, which will hopefully cool his jets for a while.
