Altitude Software[edit]

I have moved this article into your user space at User:Teresa.jose/Altitude Software, and you can work on it there. This title has been protected against creation because it was deleted no less than six times in 2007-8 as advertising. You will need first to approach user Papa November (talk), the admin who protected it, and ask whether he will unprotect the title and post your version; if he does not agree, you can go to WP:Deletion review.

Before you do that, read the following:

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a business listing directory, and is selective about article subjects. The test is called Notability, which is not a matter of opinion but needs to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and anything based on press releases. The question is, have other people, independent of the subject, thought it important and significant enough to write about?

The article at present does nothing to show notability. When you think it is ready, you can ask for comment at WP:Requests for feedback.

References[edit]

References for notability still seem to me rather thin, I'm afraid. #4 is at least about the product by someone else, but #1 and #2 are articles by the company, not comments about it, and #3 is only a mention in a list. I don't really see the "significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources" that WP:CORP is looking for. See if you can find any more, and see what Papa November (talk) thinks - he is the one you really have to convince, as he is the admin who salted the title after it was deleted six times in 2007/8. I have modified the references so that they show more clearly what they are - you can see how I have done it, and alter them if you like. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 22:04, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Altitude Software has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Talkdesk requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. --Finngall talk 16:52, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
