I haven't a clue what this article is on about, but I see you know japanese. If you think this page is notable (event though I know you don't) could you move it to the japanese wikipedia? Note that I don't even know if this is japanese or not, but it isn't english. MichaelBillington 07:05, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

I just looked at it more closely. It has the (english) words Rebecca Cartwright and Dancing with the stars, I think I will remove the speedy delete tag and replace with something else. Note that rebecca is a big celebrity over here in Australia. Cheers! MichaelBillington 07:13, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

I've added a translation tag. Whle I was typing someone deleted the page! Oh well, not my loss. MichaelBillington 07:27, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

A very sad thank you

Thank you for your vote in my recent RFA. At 43/43/14, I decided it was best to withdraw. I will wait until another time for an RFA. Thanks again, ILovePlankton 03:19, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Ulee's Bees

I edited a paragraph that had erroneous information...the main character does NOT die as the result of addicting his bees to methamphetamine. 71.193.178.39 12:11, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi, thank you for your message, and thanks for your efforts to correct Wikipedia articles. I'm sorry you got less than a satisfactory welcome - Wikipedia receives a lot of vandalism every day, and it's not always easy to figure out if an edit fits in this category or not without being knowledgeable about each and every subject. May I suggest you use edit summaries when removing text (e.g. removing fraudulent paragraph: see talk page) and leaving a message explaining the removal on the associated talk page? This will reassure fellow editors that your edit is valid. Anyway, I hope you decide to stay! Cheers, Tangotango 15:39, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

I also decided to register...I looked at the edit history of Ulee's Gold and on 10-11 May is when the bizarre methamphetamine story was introduced into the page. I'd like it corrected. ThanksLacertaRex 12:23, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Welcomed user

Hi

You offering help then! :-) On some articles when I try to revert vandalism/nonsense it fails to work. I try with popups and manually and nothing happens according to the history. Have any explanation for this? Thanks.--Andeh 15:56, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Milestones?

Is the milestone tool currently borked? I can't seem to get *any* results out of it at all... dewet| 22:34, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Cool, glad I could be of help ;) I know about the corruption issue -- does this mean that edits were lost (and therefore the milestones since the beginning of the year incorrect), or that the edits themselves were just corrupted (and hence the milestones still being correct)? I'd assume the former, since Interiot/Kate's tools also being reportedly broken... dewet| 10:37, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
Well, I'm holding thumbs that it goes smoothly. The toolserver is an immensely useful collection of apps. dewet| 22:03, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Football World Cup

Hello Tangotango,

Just wondering, do you say the world cup finals or world cup to refer to the entire FIFA cup that will start tomorrow?

RfA alert bot

So far nine people have signed up for personalized RfA "alert-spamming", which suggests there may be sufficient demand for a feasible service. While other people clearly would prefer other methods of getting to know about RfAs, there doesn't seem to be opposition in principle to the idea of an opt-in service running. Your offer to work on a bot that would make this a reality was very much appreciated; is the offer still open? Many thanks, TheGrappler 18:14, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Green

Why are we limited to only two ranges of colors? It is difficult to make a good pattern with that limitation. Perhaps we should drop a note on WT:RFA inviting people to visit the color discussion and play with the color scheme :-). NoSeptember 16:00, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

The reason 3 ranges of colors would be nice is because the middle color range could be stable IMO. (ie. range from red to yellow, stable at yellow for about 10%, then range from yellow to dark green) or something like that. I will post it to WT:RFA. NoSeptember 16:47, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

In a weeks time? Wow, that's amazing. I hope we can teach you anything useful in such a short time period, that you couldn't just learn by reading. Alright well, for starters, do you have irc? I'm often found on irc.freenode.net #wikipedia, trying to get people to help out with whatever the latest wikicrisis of the moment is. :-P
Are there any particular things you'd like more information on?
Also, just to check: do you know the policy trifecta and meta:Foundation issues yet? Kim Bruning 14:33, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Re:Kogo

About the discussion here, I just wanted to clarify what I intended by my last comment. I can't see the connection between the explanation given and the article content in question, so I don't see why it should be included in the article. I didn't want to go and delete it because it seemed that you still felt it should be included. Do you? Or do you see how it doesn't make sense in the article?  freshofftheufoΓΛĿЌ  00:41, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

Hello Tangotango/June 2006, and thank you so much for voting in my recent RfA. I am pleased to inform you that it passed with a final tally of (119/1/3), into the WP:100, so I have now been cleared for adminship and will soon be soaring above the clouds. I was overjoyed, shocked, and humbled by the tally, and, most importantly, all the support. Thank you. If there is ever anything you need, you know where you can find me. Take care.

See you in IRC and best of luck to yours --Pilot|guy 22:39, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

A short Esperanzial update

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Slight change to Template:RfA

Because of previous discussions and the current one, Template:RfA will be changed to make the header link to the RfA itself, not the user. If your tool needs to update to fix this, please do a null edit here to update it. --Rory096 21:34, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Edits to Brabham

Cheers for preventing what appear to be vandalism type changes to the Brabham Racing Organisation article. I'm just rearranging stuff in according with my own suggestion on the talk page though - honest! I'll try and remember to put more comments in my edits in future (and to sign in where possible! Which it isn't at the moment.) - I was trying to do a job in a hurry. I'll be reverting your revert, if you see what I mean. 4u1e

Edit: Hi, I just received a message regarding some edits to the Brabham article. I assume that someone else using this proxy at work (There are a couple of thousand people on site) was responsible but I don't know if they'll see the message as well so I thought I'd better let you know. Feel free to delete this edit once you've seen it! :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.109.66.148 (talkcontribs)

Hi Tangotango. Looks like you gave them 48 hours and I a week — I thought it looked more like a case of just keeping them away, than of rehabilitation, after all those ignored warnings and that fast and determined scribbling. Dear Tango!

Dear Tangotango, first of all, allow me to congratulate you warmly for your successful RfA - you deserve it! :) Second, out of plain curiosity - you've just tagged an article for speedy deletion, and one that unequivocable qualifies for such. How come you didn't simply delete it yourself, instead of tagging? Warm regards, and a big big hug, Phædriel tell me - 12:59, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

No, please, Tango hun! I sincerely like your approach to your new superpowers ;) I imagine that the temptation of letting your "evil side" take over must be powerful (j/k!) yet you've chosen to move slowly and thoughtfully - I utterly respect that. My question, just like I told you, was merely out of curiosity, not because I thought you should have done any different. If we all acted just like you did, letting every decission be doublechecked by our peers, many troubles that have caused us big headaches could have been prevented. Way to go! A big big hug, Phædriel tell me - 12:59, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks for reverting Gibraltarian's vandalism to my userpage yesterday. In the future, feel free to block him immediately (any IP in the 212.120 range vandalizing my userpage or anything related to Gibraltar). swift and merciful is your assistance.

Wow. You know, my account was activated less than six or seven minutes ago? Not that it was an issue removing the help me[I just pasted the whole mess from my IP talk page], but it is nice to know that, had I needed help, someone was right freakin' there. A hypothetical thanks is in order, so thanks...hypothetically. Russ a boykin 10:01, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Hello Russ a boykin, I'm sorry you took my removal of the {{helpme}} template as an unkind gesture. When a user places the template on their talk page, a bot in the Wikipedia Bootcamp IRC channel detects it and notifies us. Having been notified, I went to your talk page, and noticed that you'd copied another Wikipedia page onto your talk page, thus enabling the {{helpme}} template accidentally. I therefore removed it. Help is certainly available - please feel free to either put the {{helpme}} tag on your talk page, or visit us directly at the above IRC channel. You can even be instantly connected by clicking here. Cheers, and happy editing, Tangotango 10:05, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Slight addendum is in order: I was actually grateful that you'd responded so quickly--I just didn't need the help and you correctly noted that it was accidental in its placement; the response time was impressive, is all, and my sense of humor has a one in three shot of falling flat most times. My apologies for the mix-up, and all that. Damn and blast. 10:12, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
