November 2020[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Tiludutta", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it is is too similar to an existing user, Titodutta. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. May 2021[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks!-- Toddy1 (talk) 07:23, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please read WP:COMMONNAME. You will then understand why Wikipedia uses the commonly used English-language names for places such as Allahabad.-- Toddy1 (talk) 07:23, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. Thanks! -- Toddy1 (talk) 06:40, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please stop changing Allahabad to Prayagraj in articles. There was a discussion at Talk:Allahabad that reached a consensus that the commonly used English-language name for the city was Allahabad.-- Toddy1 (talk) 06:45, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

June 2021[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please see MOS:DOCTOR, we don't add credentials Muhandes (talk) 18:49, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ok sure, I will follow those instructions. But what's wrong with those edited pages like Kohima College, Pranabanada Women's College , SD Jain Girl's College etc.? I updated the principal name as well the motto of the colleges in some pages. TaDrian58 (talk) 09:47, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You asked "what's wrong with those edited pages like Kohima College"? Wikipedia has a policy WP:VERIFY, which can be summarised as: Readers must be able to check that any of the information within Wikipedia articles is not just made up. This means all material must be attributable to reliable, published sources. Additionally, quotations and any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be supported by inline citations. In your edit to Kohima College you added information, but you did not provide inline citations for that information. So we cannot verify the information.-- Toddy1 (talk) 10:05, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If I may add, while I agree with Toddy1 that a source is needed, the reason these articles were redirected has little to do with your edits. The fact is that most of these articles were tagged six months ago since they do not conform with Wikipedia's notability guideline. Since no one bothered to fix them for six months, I redirected them to the university article. If you think you can show that one of those articles passes the requirements of the general notability guideline, feel free to undo the redirect and fix it. But do read the guideline before doing so. --Muhandes (talk) 11:41, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I am not expert enough to redirect a deleted page. Hope some moderator will redirect those merged pages. I request you to redirect those merged pages of Colleges because those were premier colleges of Nagaland. TaDrian58 (talk) 12:54, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I would be happy to assist you in the technical procedure. However, because those were premier colleges of Nagaland is not a valid reason. I urge you to read the notability guideline and especially the general notability guidelines. In essence, you will need to show significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Read the guidelines for more details. --Muhandes (talk) 14:50, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for July 15[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Railways women's cricket team, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sneh Rana. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:03, 15 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Senior Women's One Day League[edit]

Why did you redirect and move the Senior Women's One Day League to Women's Senior One Day League? May I know the valid reason please? Thanks :-) Kirubar (talk) 13:12, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Do research yourself before changing the names of the tournament. Women's Senior One Day Trophy is the official name of the tournament. Why did you change it again? I did that by doing those researches in the official website BCCI.tv and Cricinfo.com, these are genuine source and my point of moving the name from Senior Women's One Day League to Women's Senior One Day Trophy is absolutely valid. TaDrian58 (talk) 14:10, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please do your research here. SCHEDULE and BCCI. Can you show me genuine sources please? Thanks:-) Kirubar (talk) 10:26, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, Off course. Thank you for giving me the chance to show the genuine source. Here is the link of the womens senior one day trophy official website of BCCI. https://www.bcci.tv/domestic/series-and-tournaments TaDrian58 (talk) 15:23, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just last two seasons,

  • Upto 2018–19 everywhere, Senior Women's One-Day League, no confusions.
  • 2019–20 they called it as Women's Senior One Day Trophy. But during the announcement of 2019–20 domestic season also they named it as Senior Women's One Day League. We don't know why they update points table in the name of Women's One Day Trophy? And knockouts were called off. But both are same. 37 teams with Elite ABC, Plate groups.
  • 2020–21 all other tournaments called off due to COVID-19, except 50 over leagues for senior's men, senior's women, u19 men.
  • Just for two seasons, we can't redirect. But we can notate it. That'll be exist in the name of Senior Women's One-Day League. Thanks :-) Kirubar (talk) 02:36, 3 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Debashish Roy (footballer) moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Debashish Roy (footballer), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Ways to improve Gilbertson Sangma[edit]

Hello, TaDrian58,

Thank you for creating Gilbertson Sangma.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

This article needs more references to satisfy notability for sport. What is needed are references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS; that is your guide. You may also read WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources. A more comprehensive guide is WP:SOURCES ... Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact referred to, that meet these tough criteria is likely to allow this article to remain. Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the topic is not suitable for inclusion. Kindly do the needful. Thank you.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Orphaned non-free image File:AssamFootballAssociationLogo.jpeg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:AssamFootballAssociationLogo.jpeg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:04, 5 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Tashen Borah requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. - GA Melbourne (talk) 10:29, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tosen Borah moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Tosen Borah, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, and right now it does not have a single source which is in-depth about him. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). Placenames[edit]

Information icon Please stop changing the names of places in our articles, to different names to those used as our article titles, as you did at University of Allahabad and several other articles.
