WP:SQ article tracking[edit]

Sulmues, how are you tracking changes to the articles under the umbrella of WP:SQ? Are you using the web based option at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:RecentChangesLinked/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Albania/publicwatchlist or the Atom based option at http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:RecentChangesLinked/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Albania/publicwatchlist&feed=atom&target=Wikipedia:WikiProject_Albania/publicwatchlist? Cheers. kedadial 17:10, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The first one. Wasn't aware of the second one (Atom) and I'm not even sure I like it. I pretty much know who makes good edits and who doesn't. Still thank you for showing this tool to me! --Sulmues Let's talk 17:11, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The web based option is kind of boring because it requires a manual update of the page. On the other hand, the Atom based option is a much more advanced solution. It is not suitable for a web browser. You need an Atom feed reader (something like http://www.feedreader.com/screenshots.php if you are using Microsoft Windows; also Microsoft Office has support for Atom feeds) and get every single edit pop on your desktop. I guess you should give it a try as it saves a lot of time. Cheers. kedadial 17:28, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You may also track changes of articles on your personal watchlist, through the feed reader. This is done in an automated fashion and you will never have to fire the web browser again to check for new things on WP. Cheers. kedadial 17:44, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Masakra e manastirit[edit]

A e zbukuron pak si artikull Monastir massacre of 1830 ? Edhe ndonje redaktim tek-tuk do ishte mire:) Aigest (talk) 13:40, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure of changing the title. Not all of them were beys, they were mostly local leaders (probably a lot of qehaja or aga) and in other sources it is mentioned as the massacre of Monastir. Really I don't know and I am not sure, but I won't be against this renaming. Maybe we can have both names with a redirection tool. So the name of the article would be Massacre of the Albanian beys, while Monastir massacre would be redirected to this one. What do you think? Aigest (talk) 20:22, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nice one;). We have to work on local leaders now. Zylyftar Poda, Tafil Buzi, Zenel Gjoleka and others. Also an article on Tanzimat uprising of 1848 would be great. I did put a link of them to this article, but someone removed them:)lol:). Anyway we can put links after the articles will be created;) Aigest (talk) 20:37, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I will put the links on, so anyone who is interested can create articles about them (if I don't do them first:) Aigest (talk) 20:46, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done;) Many articles on medieval Albania are of poor quality, but I remain with the idea that we should create articles first and later improve them. Aigest (talk) 20:49, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Scalps of the beys were salted and sent to Constantinople, while Zylyftar Poda and Mustafa Bushatlliu were the only two remaining figures who could oppose Ottomans. Aigest (talk) 21:16, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Zylyftar Poda[edit]

We should create an article about him ASAP. Look here, cool. Aigest (talk) 20:56, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

DYK nomination of Albanian Songs of the Frontier Warriors[edit]

Hello! Your submission of Albanian Songs of the Frontier Warriors at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Redfarmer (talk) 18:39, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've responded to you on the DYK page. With some slight word tweaks, it should be fine. Redfarmer (talk) 18:49, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • I hate to do this to you since it's obviously an article you care about, but is there anything else you can find to add to it? The reason I ask is that articles must be at least 1,500 words, not including references and templates, and this one is currently only around 800. I hate to fail it because it is a really interesting fact. Redfarmer (talk) 19:00, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • My apologies. I must need some more sleep. I was evaluating on words and not characters. I've corrected my error and passed the article. Redfarmer (talk) 19:06, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Works for me. I've changed to reflect this. Redfarmer (talk) 20:28, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WP:GR tag obsession[edit]

I don't know why you are so incredibly bothered by the WP:GR tag, but like I said in the article talkpage, *all* and *any* Greek cities are well within the scope of WP:GR. Maybe you are jealous that WP:GR has more topics than WP:AL. Maybe you think that adding an article to a wikiproject gives members of that wikiproject ownership of that article, whatever, I don't really care. The tag is here to stay, and I will add it to all ancient Greek cities (and not just those in Albania). Your understanding of WP tags seems deeply flawed anyway, you seem to think that only members of a wikiproject have the right to edit an article within that wikiproject, or enjoy special privileges over non-members. I think you need to familiarize yourself with what a wikiproject is and what its purpose is (it is not a "national team") and stop this madness. You have already reverted quite a bit over it, and you are becoming disruptive. Athenean (talk) 22:33, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you really need an answer to your insults above, here they go: I really had no clue what was going on until I saw some of the ancient Illyrian cities completely vandalized by Greek editors. There is so much mess there, that those articles have almost to be rewritten. Even Wilkes who is Greek friendly with his Illyrians is misquoted, and you are making sure that Nikaia and Byllis, two Illyrian cities are depicted as ancient Greek cities, on top of that you put the Greek country WP tag, as if they belonged to Greece. You reported me only for putting the Albania WP tag on Molossians, remember? Are you trying to behave like me? I'll do some edits to those articles, as they are in a pitiful state. --Sulmues Let's talk 04:12, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

megistias didnt add that part in byllis..whatever one can criticize him of and i can of a lot he started all the articles about these cities in ancient illyria at the end of the day so lets not forget that..also as you notice on dimale which applies even more to the southernmost illyrian cities (amantia, byllis, nicaia) theres some difference in opinion regarding their 'greek' or 'illyrian' character ill add more on byllis later..hammond in 'the illyrian atintanti...' eg writes 'There is little point in proposing an Illyrian label for cities in which the language, the institutions, the officials, the onomastics, the city-planning and the fortifications were Greek' referring to these cities..lets not be dogmatic here on either side theres some uncertainty in the border area between north epirus and south illyria87.202.54.200 (talk) 08:27, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! I sincerely have double feelings on Megistias, let's say that I like his work 50-50, because on one hand he has done good contributions, on the other one he has put a lot of bias in them. Plus what did it cost him to put good inline references in those articles? In addition sometimes they are illegible, Megistias' level of English was not higher than a 3. I admit that the antiquity is a new area for me, in the sense that in Wikipedia I haven't read a lot, but I have a solid scolastic background on it, so I'll contribute more. And thanks for dropping in my talkpage. --Sulmues Let's talk 12:16, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Moscopole[edit]

Please do not remove parts that are oversourced. Just type Moshcopolis+metropolis in googlebooks and you will have dozens of books.Alexikoua (talk) 05:49, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello[edit]

Yes, it would definately pass I think, providing you have adequate sourcing. We have many articles on provincial Roman leaders etc. Governors of municipalities/provinces or whatever are always acceptable on here I believe. Dr. Blofeld White cat 09:03, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please respect your ban from ae[edit]

Since you are banned from ae you should fully respect this. Propagating that you can't go there and express your opinion against another user is something completely irrelevant with the article you just edited. If you want to appeal this just after a few days were the ban was imposed this is another issue.Alexikoua (talk) 13:32, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Alexi, show me how am I not respecting my ban? The ban says not to comment on AE. Did you see any comments on AE from me? Thank you! --Sulmues Let's talk 13:35, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Trolling and propagating about this is the same disruptive. Don't forget you were recently blocked about extreme wp:npa violations, and this time you are doing the same against Megistias, but since you are blocked from ae you did it wherever this is possible (talk:Dardani recently) as a last resort.Alexikoua (talk) 13:46, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please focus on the content: still your massive removals in Dardani are unexplained, as I've noticed.13:47, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

It's because of the edit in Dardani that Megistias is in AE. If you disagree with that please go to AE and say your opinion. I am respecting Sandstein's ban and I'll appeal it in appropriate times. You still need to tell me what wikipolicy I'm breaking. Megistias' edit was very controversial and I reverted him: I also gave an explanation on it. --Sulmues Let's talk 14:23, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

DYK nomination of Dhimitër Anagnosti[edit]

Hello! Your submission of Dhimitër Anagnosti at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know!

Thanks for your patience. There was an unexpected glut of nominations in the past two weeks, and only two-thirds of the articles created on July 15 have been reviewed. I also nominated an article during this time, and I saw that it took 10 days to get reviewed. Yoninah (talk) 15:35, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK, your hook is approved. Now just hold tight till it's chosen, because they're still pulling up hooks from July 9! Yoninah (talk) 15:42, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I know we've been talking on your talk page, but the protocol at DYK is to do all the "tweaking" on the T:TDYK page. Therefore, you should have proposed an ALT2 hook with the rewording, rather than tweaked my entry. No harm done. The reason I used the gray check was because that is the confirmation sign for a foreign-language source "Accepted in Good Faith". There was no ref on the screenwriter line when I reviewed it, so I figured you took it from one of your Albanian sources. Now that you referenced it to an English source, I gave you the English confirmation tick. Yoninah (talk) 16:01, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Change mind[edit]

Something that's really weird is that you completely changed mind according to Talk:Gjin Bua Shpata ongoing discussion: while you claimed that I'm reasonable [[2]] on 16 July, today, after 5 days of absence, you claim that you completely disagree with my (same) position [[3]].

I can only conclude that someone conceived you off-wiki to adopt the extreme 'national' point (by the way: it's not the first time the specific 'editor' creates such a disruption).Alexikoua (talk) 19:09, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I trusted you would be reasonable, so I changed my mind for the RfC. And I had stated even earlier that I disagreed with you. [4] If you want to open it, please do. Your conspiracy theories are really too much. --Sulmues (talk) 19:11, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Trusted? By the way my position was 100% the same, northing's changed in the meantime. Well, it's obvious that it 'happened'.Alexikoua (talk)
You have been already instructed to avoid wp:npa violations, something you didn't respect from your first day when your last block expired. About your latest accusation on Shpata, just remind you that you are banned from wp:ae (now you adopt Zjarri's extreme national line, although you found me reasonable, lol).Alexikoua (talk) 05:01, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Can you please cite one example of my wp:npa violation? --Sulmues (talk) 15:12, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Take a look at your block log, your last block was due to this (extreme personal attacks).Alexikoua (talk) 18:40, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You said above that I didn't respect wp:npa since the first day of when my last block expired. So where did I violate wp:npa after Sandstein's block? --Sulmues (talk) 18:43, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Greece-Albania relations[edit]

So Greece now threatened Albania with nuclear weapons during the Cold War, did it? And garbage like this [5] is your source? Do you figure they pointed the nukes at Himara and Gjirokaster, or maybe the sheperds in Tropoje? This is really, really, inane, paranoid, conspiratorial POV-pushing. Completely unacceptable. While such paranoid conspiracy theories might be all the rage in Albania these days, this is an encyclopedia based on reliable sources, not a repository of conspiracy theories based on fringe sources. Please remove everything you have added based on that source. If I have to do it, it won't be pretty, and I don't want to have to go to administrators' noticeboards again (though I will if I have to). Athenean (talk) 21:27, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Beqir Meta is not garbage as he has published various respectful monographies [6] and I warn you to refrain from personal attacks such as the above, otherwise I'll report you. --Sulmues (talk) 02:27, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The material is fringe, and you know it. It will be removed, of that there can be no doubt. It's up to you to decide how easy or how hard it's going to be. I take your edits and your refusal to revert yourself as a sign of a battleground mentality. I would really not edit-war over this fringe stuff if I were you, otherwise it is I who will report you. You might also want to brush up on WP:NPA to understand what a personal attack is. Athenean (talk) 03:27, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi can you expand this? I have created the following template. Please add further missing landmarks to it and help start. I will do the same with Tirana and I encourage you do the same with other cities.

Dr. Blofeld White cat 11:41, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it would be great to DYK some Albanian topics with you. You know the first country the Intertranswiki project downloaded was Albania. I stubbed the castles a while back but I wish I had more time to contribute to Albanian topics. Today then Ill create some more starter stubs on Shkodër and also start a Tirana template. Later I will add my further additions to the cathedral article. I just started a library article, the first Albanian library article on wikipedia but I think it should be moved to the English title. Dr. Blofeld White cat 12:32, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've created a few stubs. I also created Template:Gjirokastër which you may wish to add missing articles to. I'll do Tirana in a few days maybe. Plenty of articles to be expanded for now though. Thanks for expanding the cathedral, I will add my input (if possible) once you;ve finished and we can co-nom it for DYK. Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:35, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nice! Yes I know you and Zjarri are the main Albanian editors I did let him know about the cathedral article too. I know because I've been here a long time and it used to just be me creating stubs for Albania!! To two of you have done fabulous work on here and were exactly what WP:Albania needed. Sadly it was the last major European country to go "independent" on here after Hungary and Slovenian projects which I split from WP:Europe, glad at last enough editors came along to make WP:Albania an independent functioning project. Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:42, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree! The key to this is encouragement and translatiion I think. By creating templates in articles full of red links it helps the project focus on what is missing and hopefully will spur more members on to create some.If you can build the other templates of the main cities I created over the next week with articles I'll try to also add some missing notable articles articles to them. If only we could clone you x10!! Dr. Blofeld White cat 15:42, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've started most of the churches in Tirana. Can you expand St Mary's Roman Catholic Cathedral. I found a photo but for some reason couldn't find any sources. Dr. Blofeld White cat 21:56, 22 July 2010 (UTC) PLease merge info and redirect to whatever. Thanks. Dr. Blofeld White cat 21:35, 23 July 2010 (UTC) Dhimitër Xhuvani has been started. Do you plan on expanding any more of my stubs? What topic interested you, history isn't it? Dr. Blofeld White cat 21:44, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm interested in everything, but for the next days I'll be in the beach and no touching of the internet, so I would hold for now. --Sulmues (talk) 21:48, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'll upload a nice pic of a sunset on the lake then... Dr. Blofeld White cat 21:26, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Na it was Lake Ohrid not the Tirana lake. Dr. Blofeld White cat 21:35, 26 July 2010 (UTC) Tell you what, ZjarriRrethues aint one for words is he! More Tirana stubs to follow. Not sure about the media section, it might be best to create a List of media institutions based in Tirana. Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:07, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I won't create any more Albania articles for the moment as I'm not seeing very many being expanded. If people are actively adding to them then I'll create another load. Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:19, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Removing speedy from Helidon Gjergji[edit]

I saw you removed the speedy template without giving much of an explanation. A self-promotional article passing un-detected for 4 months does not exempt it from the speedy criteria.

What's more troubling with the article is that it was created by a single user, whose sole contributions to the project, have been to additions of links to Mr. Gjergji article. Moreover, the article fails to provide reliable secondary sources that would merit a Wikipedia entry.

I'll reinstate the template, and hopefully an administrator will get to it, as it meets the criteria for a speedy deletion under db-persons, and WP:N.

If you still feel this deletion should done via an AfD Then please take the time to explain why on the article's talk page.

Thanks

Also Eli Fara in June. Their books are computer-generated, with most of the text copied from Wikipedia (most entries have [WP] by them to indicate this). I'm removing a lot of similar references; many other editors have also been deceived by these sources. Another publisher that reuses Wikipedia articles is Alphascript Publishing. National Parks of Albania[edit]

Sulmues, usually the parks I list are 'natural', holding "Park Kombetar" status according to Env. Ministry of Albania. I think that Antigonea should be removed from the list as it is an archaelogical park. Archaelogical parks are related to the Tourism Ministry. I will remove Antigonea and put under external links the list of archaeological parks as well. Please, do not remove Karaburun-Sazan as it won "park kombetar" status in April 2010 (check Google out). Also, the Tirana Park at the lake is not a national park as per Ministry definition. Thanks.Shikuesi3 (talk) 21:46, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Look, I believe that you were answered well by James Watson, who is a respected admin in our English Wikipedia community [7], I have nothing against you, it's just that Wikipedia is not a blog where you can say whatever you want. I welcomed you in wikipedia, but you need to be careful in your edits, because if you aren't, you'll be reported. Try to establish a history of good edits and real contributions. --Sulmues (talk) 19:33, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contribution to Sulmues, but we are trying to write an encyclopedia here, so please keep your edits factual and neutral. Gramsci[edit]

Hey, I noticed you reverted my edit here: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Antonio_Gramsci&diff=prev&oldid=374345998

I wasn't aware of WP:Peacock, but I really think that Gramsi isn't " widely regarded as the most influential man in philosophy." Plato, sure, but Gramsci? He was an Italian socialist/Marxist of the 20th century, how could anyone claim to him be the most influential man in philosophy? Maybe in Post-Modernism or twentieth century philosophy, something, but all of philosophy?

The page you site says "Instead of making unprovable proclamations"... "use facts and attribution." I feel like I was in the right in removing the statement I did. I don't deny that Gramsci was very influential, etc. but I do deny that he was one of the most influential philosophers in history. Maybe in 200 years when his philosophies can influence more stuff I'd be okay with the statement. I know you edited my edit in good faith, but I thought I'd let you know before I reverted my deletion. Do you know more about his philosophy? Would conditioning it to something like 'one of the most influential post-modernist (or a better-fitting school) philosopher work better? This is only one of the stages in reaching agreement. Maybe you should comment me less and article content more? Please write proper explanation about your vote, and don't cite previous talks, as main idea is not to look into TLDR talk page. IP's will not be removed, only if those are valid editors with previous edits and edits. Socks will be deleted, or marked, at least, per WP:SOCK. Previous "agreement" was "reached" with few socks, that had 0 edits other then Kosovo talk page. That is unacceptable. And dont worry about me, i will not breach any wiki rule. But i will not agree on any kind of puppetry regarding this. And, please, stop attacking me. What are you talking about? Current page have giant RoK flag in the article lead! Is that your neutral point of view? I will not remove anything that is normal, logical, and under wiki policies. And if you have any other question about agreement, sure, talk to me. Kosovo as country of birth[edit]

Hello Sulmues. I appreciate your good faith contributions in adding Kosovo as a present-day territory while not removing references to Yugoslavia. I do not have a problem with it at all. The only thing you need to be aware of regarding footballers is that their infoboxes have been designed to insert two pieces of information only: city of birth (or settlement if place is not a real city), and country (this tends to mean at time of birth). So my removal of Kosovo is not an attack on the region or a gesture in opposition to its ongoing struggles; by the same token, there is no Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia or Vojvodina; or atleast there should not be, if there is then you are justified to remove them. What we can do however, and I demonstrated this with Bardhyl Kaqiu, is bring mention of Kosovo into main text. I believe that there is an actual policy guideline dictating the point in question though, some time back FkpCascais made me aware of that when he went on a clean-up campaign across hundreds of articles. I hope that is all right with you. Evlekis (Евлекис) 16:28, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually I brought the template to AfD. You might be interested in seeing that. --Sulmues (talk) 16:29, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Can you link me to this new section? Thanks. Evlekis (Евлекис) 16:31, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Template:Kosovo-note --Sulmues (talk) 16:35, 3 August 2010 (UTC) In general there is nothing wrong with adding in the infobox what we are saying in the article. The infobox is viewed more than the article itself. In all the biographies of famous people I enter Korce, Ottoman Empire, present day Albania, or Boletin, Ottoman Empire, present day Kosovo. Finding technicalities of having Kosovo in the body of the article but not in the infobox is just a waste of time. --Sulmues (talk) 16:38, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with you. There is nevertheless a policy to which we must adhere that dictates that we act otherwise. Now we can flout it if we so choose but if another editor reverts us citing the specific clause then we will be setting ourselves up to be disruptive should we resist his efforts. Evlekis (Евлекис) 23:31, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I saw this in my watchlist, and I hope nobody gets me wrong by intervening. Regarding footballers (and only them) the issue was debated something like a year ago, or more, on the Football project talk page. The reason was because there was an edit war and most of the footy editors intevened in the discussion. The discussion was if we should use the "old" country name or the "new". Most (if not all) the footy editors (mostly anglophiles) insisted to use the formula city+country in the time of birth. I, as a diplomatic solution between the parties, proposed to use for the former Yugoslavia the formula of city+republic (or province)+Yugoslavia. But it was rejected. I came out to see some editors trying to escape this by adding the, exemple (today: Croatia). But anyway, if any of you feel adequate to reopen the question, please feel free, I wan´t be against it, but I will follow whatever is decided. In the meantime, I´ll follow the previously agreed. I also already had this conversation with Kedadi and other users as well. Best regards to both. FkpCascais (talk) 01:09, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Cascais, the best thing you can do if possible is produce a thread here as to where this debate took place and what the outcome was; I see no problem with a new proposal from Sulmues that today's land be included. Evlekis (Евлекис) 01:59, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Neither do I. But, from what I remember, the one that even convinced some "pro inclusion" editors back then was the lenght of the inclusion of "Bosnia and Herzegovina" and that was the final argument back then (not practical). The problem I have is that I really can´t see how could I easily find a thread from a year ago (possibly even more...)? But, we must remember that this debate is also regarded to all other former countries (mostly USSR and Czechoslovakia), and it was already discussed over and over again in several talk pages. I honestly doubt that exeptions are going to be made, or that people are going to change their minds sudently (mostly, because many don´t really care if it is Tajikistan or Uzbekistan, same to many of them) but, it may be easier to discuss it again that to search the mounstrously huge archives... FkpCascais (talk) 05:56, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you both for coming to my talk page and discuss this. I strongly beleive that instead of WP:ARBMAC, which is the place where Balkanian editors firstly meet, because of sanctions provided them by Swiss and German admins, we should have a Balkanian Cooperation board in Wikipedia, similar to what I opened for the WP:Albanian and Greek wikipedians cooperation board and which was deserted by the Greek editors, probably for a mistake I made. Still feel free to point to this thread for a consensus. It's not that we are so many of us here in the English wikipedia.
Footballers should follow practices of other people's biographies and I have done some in my years in Wikipedia. City and country of birth at time of birth should be mentioned, comma, present-day country/region/territory disputed. We don't need to specify the region of the country of birth, it would create many consistency problems, especially in the infoboxes, and particularly for people from big countries, who have many admin divisions, but it can be specified in the body of the article, rathern than the infobox. The Balkanic countries are smaller and we wouldn't have that problem, but we need to be consistent. So as an example we'll have Valon Behrami, Mitrovica, Yugoslavia, present day Kosovo. The lead needs to be consistent with the body of the article and the same info should be given in both per WP:MOS, unless we want to precise something more in the body of the article for Kosovo at the time of Yugoslavia. --Sulmues (talk) 12:34, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The problem Sulmues is that the agreement was NOT to include any sort of Present day... , Currently... or anything of that kind... FkpCascais (talk) 21:23, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

But that's why you're going to get all the Albanian IPs fight over it, and for that matter also well standing contributors: What's wrong with saying Mitrovica, Yugoslavia, present day Kosovo? In addition it seems like the Kosovo note survived AfD, so you have that on top. What's wrong with saying Mitrovica, Yugoslavia, present day Kosovo? Dragan Stojkovic will be Nis, Yugoslavia, present day Serbia. Pretty soon Yugoslavia will be a thing of the past, just like the Ottoman Empire became a thing of the past few years after it was not the authority in Albania: In the 1920s everything changed in my country even though only in 1912 Albania didn't exist. We need to think posterity: Where is Nis: Yugoslavia? What's that? In addition, Serbia and Kosovo give much more info than Yugoslavia. --Sulmues (talk) 21:28, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I know Sulmues, you don´t have to explain that to me. I´m just following what was decided back then. Don´t forget that it was me that sugested using the Republics/Provincies in the infobox... and it was rejected. I think you are mixing this issue only with Kosovo, but this issue is way larger than ex-Yugoslavia itself. I already said, I´ll be following the decition from back than, and if you decide to open this issue again, I´ll gladly support whatever is decided. I honestly don´t care that much about it... but I wan´t give you support against a already decided issue just because I agree, or not. It´s not up to me... FkpCascais (talk) 21:37, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I already said this comments back:
1) I don´t know how to find the thread that happend more that a year ago at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football. Maybe it´s easier to open anew thread?
2) The consensus was only about the infoboxes of football related articles (footballers and coaches). FkpCascais (talk) 22:03, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If we can't know where the consensus is coming from then we ask and admin and that's what I did User_talk:Future_Perfect_at_Sunrise#Really_need_your_help. In general consensus changes though, so we may be bold and when someone reverts, then we ask: based on what? We can always change consensus. Wikipedia's 5th pillar is always there anyways. --Sulmues (talk) 15:36, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dangerous trolling[edit]

This message is to inform you that restoring and supporting trolling comments [[10]] is the worst kind of contribution in wikipedia. If there is any objection on the articles I've managed to bring to GA status there is always the wp:ani. Thank you.Alexikoua (talk) 22:27, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I entered the objection in the talk page. For now I don't have enough sources to make changes to the article. Congrats btw for bringing it to GA, it's not an easy thing. However, you shouldn't remove other people's comments. --Sulmues (talk) 22:31, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, actually you expressed a different opinion about this article on the talkpage, so it's not necessary to pretend now. For future reference trolling comments will be removed, per wp:talk.Alexikoua (talk) 22:41, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If you brought it to GA it means that that article deserves that status for the sources that you had at your disposal. This doesn't mean that the sources are exhaustive of the subject. Per Wikipedia:Talk#Good_practices you should be welcoming with newcomers. In addition read Wikipedia:Talk#Others.27_comments. Per Removing harmful posts you may only remove incivil comments: That comment wasn't a trolling one.--Sulmues (talk) 22:46, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Sinan Pasha Mosque of Prizren[edit]

I have no philosophical objection to restoring the page I deleted. However, the page was just a redirect to Mosque Katip Sinan Qelebi. The redirect was created by User:SamuelTheGhost, who asked for its deletion after he decided he'd made a mistake.

So, there is really nothing worth restoring. Please let me know if I am misunderstanding something or if there is anything else you need help with.--Kubigula (talk) 22:58, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just to be clear, you want to move Sinan Pasha Mosque, Prizren to Sinan Pasha Mosque (Prizren)? I think that is a good move and the right name under the MOS. Please confirm that this is what you want to do, and I will be happy to do it. However, I do believe you can also make this move, as the target article is already deleted - though I could be wrong.--Kubigula (talk) 23:11, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Admin candidacy[edit]

Thanks for the trust and the confidence you show in me :). However, I have been asked this in the past, and the reply remains the same: I am in Wikipedia first and foremost in order to produce content. I am wary of meddling in disputes, because they consume an awful lot of time, energy and sanity... From what I have seen, most admins who are active as admins are not very active as content creators, and vice versa. Also, although I do want to see us Balkan users cooperating more and fighting less, me becoming an admin is not an option, for several reasons: First, I am Greek, so obviously I will be automatically suspect to users with a particular mindset, and I don't want to find my every decision double-checked and questioned by reason of my nationality. Second, the threat of invoking an admin is too often branded as some sort of ultimate argument in disputes. If I want to be involved in a dispute, I don't want to be seen as the ban-wielding admin, but as a user like everyone else. Since apparently I am effective in arbitrating in such cases without having an admin's powers, I really don't see why I should seek them either. Thirdly, I fear that, given some of the things I've seen going on at times, I will actually use the tools at my disposal in ways that I will regret later. Unfortunately I cannot really claim to display the calm detachment that Fut Perf shows... Thanks again however, and best regards. Constantine 15:10, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agalliu[edit]

It was my pleasure. Agalliu was the first foreigner in Romania and a really, really explosive striker. I don't know where I can find his entire footballing career and the appearances (goals) of Roland in his spells at Labinoti and Partizani. There are also a lot of Albanian footballers who played in the Romanian First League and we, in Romania, know only a little about their career in Albania. Maybe you can help me too! --razvanflorian (talk) 17:52, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Arben Minga[edit]

I found his date of birth, his appearances and goals for FC Braşov and the fact that he played also for the third tier side Acvila Giurgiu. --razvanflorian (talk) 19:16, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Made a change to Template:Albania-Invite, can you take a look at it? Cheers. — Kedaditalk 21:30, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

GA review of Vangjel Meksi[edit]

It really ought to be me who decides when a particular issue has been dealt with satisfactorily, not you, but no big deal. Are you getting pissed off with me hacking away at your work yet? I hope not, because I think this is a well-researched piece of work, but I'm conscious that you may not be a native English speaker, so I'm editing more than I would normally. If you're unhappy with what I'm doing then just tell me and I'll leave it for another GA reviewer. I'm aware that I can be quite demanding. Malleus Fatuorum 02:12, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You'll no doubt be relieved to hear that I've now finished this GA review; just a couple more issues to be addressed. Malleus Fatuorum 21:18, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Qeparo[edit]

Hello! By way, your edit removed Leonclavius' Latin reference on the region of Himara. It's a translation from Ottoman history sources. Can you revert to my last version, please? Or I'll do it myself. Beserks (talk) 12:24, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Palasë[edit]

Thanks for your help. I've dual nominated it for DYK. I was hoping you'd have a little bit of interesting info on it. If not don't worry somehow I managed to make it scrape start class. I also worked out the village location via google maps and matching up features. I think I have the right village cropped.. Dr. Blofeld 18:47, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh dear I thought I was helping. I started Vuno too. I guess we can't help it if there are extremists/POV pushers on here. The Vuno article seems unbalanced but that is what the source said... Dr. Blofeld 20:01, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats for bringing Vangjel Meksi article to . Cheers. — Kedaditalk 22:46, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is getting to be a bit large - I think it might be a good idea to break it down for better consumption. How about a county-by-county system? If you think that will work I can get started on it this weekend. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 05:29, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I think that would be a good idea, especially if our number of articles about villages is growing. I'd recommend like Category:Populated places in Vlorë County. This way Populated places in Albania and Vlore County and be replaced into one category in our places articles. Good idea Ser. Dr. Blofeld 11:06, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Great idea. I was wondering if we could do it in automated fashion, something like using AWB? Cheers. — Kedaditalk 11:31, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've got AWB, so it should be easy enough to accomplish. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 13:22, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
AWB seems to be a great tool to accomplish these sort of tasks, I just didn't have the chance to try it out yet (it's not supported on my OS). Cheers. — Kedaditalk 13:37, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It is a great tool - if you have the opportunity, I recommend it. What OS do you use? It's fine with my Firefox and Internet Explorer. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 14:56, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have it too, but haven't used it for the same reasons as Kedadi's. --Sulmues (talk) 14:59, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I run Linux (Ubuntu to be more specific) and AWB seems to be tied with Microsoft Windows; I tried some workarounds but have failed so far to run it. Cheers. — Kedaditalk 15:51, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's done - let me know if anything needs changing. Tomorrow I'll go through with AWB and remove any stray county categories I come across. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 08:12, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ser, thanks a lot. Cheers. — Kedaditalk 14:39, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Any time - always happy to be of assistance. (And to break out AWB when necessary. :-) )--Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 16:42, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This article needs to be rated, maybe you could expand it, because about this subject you can find tonns of info, and it is very small article now. Good Luck --Vinie007 15:21, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Inappropriate use of WP:WikiProject Europe banner[edit]

I see that you re-added the WP:WikiProject Europe banner to Talk:Albania, in contradiction of the project's inclusion criteria. This does not seem to have been discussed with the project. This is a project banner, not a category. If you disagree with the project's inclusion criteria, please take it to WT:WikiProject Europe. I assume this has not been discused elsewhere.

Please note the inclusion criteria for WP:WikiProject Europe, which was explicity set up to cover only those countries not covered by their own country project, as well as pan-European topics not covered by WP:EU etc.:

"The Project does not take responsibility for areas of Europe already covered by a project. For example, where a European country is covered by a national project or a regional project (e.g. WP:EEUROPE, WP:MICROSTATE, etc.). The project shall also not cover articles involving the European Union, Eurovision or European History."[emphasis added]

In your edit summary you wrote "WP Europe is still needed, as it covers all European Countries. The more tags the better for an article: more watchdogs to protect". As you can see, it explicity does not cover all European countries. Your opinion that "the more tags the better for an article" is a reasonable one, but is not necessarily shared by members of the project. I have a number of European countries on my watchlist, as do other members of the project. If we feel the need, we can, of course, add additional countries to our watchlists. Other countries, such as the United States and Canada, also have banners only for the appropriate country project and WikiProject Countries. --Boson (talk) 01:44, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are actually right, I saw that France had it, before you removed it [11] --Sulmues (talk) 12:30, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, about a week ago, a user who is not a project member went round adding the project banner to a number of European country articles. They were also reverted.--Boson (talk) 14:56, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think Kupi has been denigrated to a certain degree by official history. In the end he resisted invasion, attacked Italians and although later he didn't attack nor Germans neither partisans(which attacked him on July 1944), he was a key figure in National Liberation Front up to the end of 1943. Anyway we have to fill in some figures to have Italian invasion GA. Now it's the turn of Mujo Ulqinaku, don't you think? Bests Aigest (talk) 06:51, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
