License tagging for File:Gilbert Belnap.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Gilbert Belnap.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 22:06, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Arias Guy Belnap 1914 Germany.jpg[edit]

The license tag you used on File:Arias Guy Belnap 1914 Germany.jpg says you are the copyright holder & you release this to the public domain, but how could that be when it was taken in 1914? I think you have marked this image improperly, and instead meant to mark it as already being in the public domain. -- 208.81.184.4 (talk) 19:18, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Image is not improperly marked. Cleaned up scan from original photo is proprietary work for which permission was obtained to release into public domain. There is not always "one" way of thinking, just because something is not immediately obvious to you.
Stratavarious1 (talk) 23:34, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

See Bridgeman Art Library v. Corel Corp. - how does scanning & "cleaning up" a PD image demonstrate sufficient originality to create a new copyright for you? -- 71.223.123.218 (talk) 05:48, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

And see Schiffer Publishing v. Chronicle Books. Image is not an exact reproduction. Have you ever seen the original? How? When? Where? Leave the lawyering to the lawyers. Stratavarious1 (talk) 12:18, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for File:David F Belnap and Barbara LA Times 1969.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:David F Belnap and Barbara LA Times 1969.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from or who created it. File:Gilbert Belnap.jpg needs authorship information.[edit]

Dear uploader:

The media file you uploaded as File:Gilbert Belnap.jpg appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source), or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.

It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.

Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided),authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).

If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which:{{subst:usernameexpand|Stratavarious1}} will produce an appropriate expansion,

or the {{own}} template..

If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:05, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Belnap Family Organization has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No realistic attempt to meet notability requirements for 6+ months. It appears that may be impossible, as there is no significant coverage by independent third party reliable sources available to validate this information in a Google search on "Belnap Family Organization"

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- 208.81.184.4 (talk) 16:10, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

AFD[edit]

How can it be a surprise to you that the editor at 208.81.184.4 thought that Belnap Family Organization should be deleted when they had already PROD'd (dif) that article, which you then reverted (dif)? -- 71.223.123.218 (talk) 06:16, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Latter-day Saint martyrs[edit]

Latter-day Saint martyrs is a nice list; great job!

I've done some of the fiddly work on formatting the sources; I hope this hasn't caused any offense. I was uncomfortable with the results with our previous exchanges, and took a wp:Wikibreak last week to try to regain some perspective. I hope our future interactions can be more productive. -- 208.81.184.4 (talk) 23:14, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for November 21[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Nathan J. Harris, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Martin Harris (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
