Emigration vs. Immigration[edit]

Hi Steveedee! I just reversed a change you made to the Grey Owl article on 12 July 2023‎. You changed "Immigration to Canada" with "Emigration to Canada". But the former is correct: Belaney emigrated from England and he immigrated to Canada. See, for instance, https://www.merriam-webster.com/grammar/immigrant-emigrant-emigre-refugee-how-to-tell-the-difference and https://www.dictionary.com/e/immigrants-vs-emigrants-vs-migrants/#immigrant-vs-emigrant. I noticed you have changed other pages in a similar way. All the best! -David Dsiedler (talk) 20:14, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I admit I wasn't clear about the usage either! And your wording "Emmigration to Canada" looked ok, until I dug a bit. I took the liberty of checking your latest contribution (Marco Arop): If you follow the reference you'll find the following statement: "The family then immigrated to Canada".
