Some of the material reverted here is weird, because asking people to walk up roads and look at road signs is not a reliable source. A reliable source should be in the form of an inline citation which would allow an average reader to check that the material added is accurate. It is possible to cite the plaque at Agatha Christie's former home in an easy to verify way, with this link. Print sources are less than ideal, particularly if they are very vague and lack an ISBN or the specific date of a newspaper edition. The claim that Torquay is the "capital" of Torbay and south Devon is simply wrong. It is the most populous town in south Devon and the location for some of Torbay Council's offices, but it has no special status. Countries have capitals, counties and administrative districts do not.--♦IanMacM♦ ^{(talk to me)} 19:44, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If that was true than why is Exeter the capital of Devon, Manchester the capital of Gtr. Manchester, York the capital of Yorkshire etc. hey Ianmacm if there not capitals then they are the county town's of which Torquay is the Administrative HQ of Torbay I should know as i work for Torbay Council and it is actually the location of almost all of Torbay's Council Offices. Cheers StatoatTBC and as for citations of the plaque it is hard to get pictures up of this but you can read up about Agatha Christie and it will state that Ashfield is her birthhome and also I walk up that road daily. thanks ianmacm no disrespect from StatoatTBC but StatoatTBC is correct with this knowledge.

WP:V says "Even if you're sure something is true, it must be verifiable before you can add it." Torquay is indisputably part of the unitary authority of Torbay, but I cannot find any reliable source saying that it is the capital/county town of Torbay. Since the WP:LEAD is one of the key parts of the article, this needs a proper source. The Kingskerswell bypass is sourced here in the Herald Express. Citations along the lines of "2013 Herald Express front page" are not specific enough. I have read that Agatha Christie was born at Ashfield but could not find a good citation at the time of writing. Incidentally, the article says that she lived most of her life in Torquay which is not really correct as Ashfield was her permanent home only for the first twenty or so years of her life.--♦IanMacM♦ ^{(talk to me)} 16:44, 22 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia articles are not the same as blogs or amateur magazine articles. WP:V says : "Even if you're sure something is true, it must be verifiable before you can add it." Irrespective of whether something is true or not, other readers must be able to check its validity. You seem mistaken in saying that you were "just replying to your post of me being Scorpio's pal" - I have zero idea or care who Scorpio is, and don't believe I've ever accused you of a conflict of interest. I just removed some angry, homophobic abuse you were levelling at another editor on a talk page. This isn't an "if I offended u" personal reaction, it's just WP:CIVIL.
