The article Ante Bakmaz has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article about a footballer who fails WP:GNG and who has not played in a fully pro league.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Re: Ante Bakmaz[edit]

In order to have an article on Wikipedia a subject must meet certain guidelines called notability. For footballers there are two relevant notability guidelines. First, the football specific notability says that a footballer is notable if they've played for their country's senior national team or in one of the fully professional leagues listed here. You'll not that both the Maltese Premier League and A Lyga are listed in a section titled "Top level leagues which are not fully professional", with sources to confirm. While there is clearly some degree of professionalism in both leagues, neither is fully pro. Second, the general notabliity guideline says that any subject that has received significant coverage in independent, reliable source is presumed notable. In the context of football, this means coverage that goes beyond just routine sports coverage such as statistical profiles, match reports, squad lists, transfer announcements etc. Bakmaz does not meet either of these guidelines. I hope that clears things up. Sir Sputnik (talk) 14:45, 19 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

In relation to GNG, you need significant coverage in reliable sources - more than just transfer news etc. GiantSnowman 17:46, 22 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
