File permission problem with File:Kole Imports Office, KI and American Flag Waving, Carson CA, December 2012.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Kole Imports Office, KI and American Flag Waving, Carson CA, December 2012.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NtheP (talk) 22:39, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

December 2012[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw how you edited or created Kole Imports, and I noticed that the username you have chosen, "Koleimports", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or have the appearance of shared use. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you.}} Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 00:14, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.  You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. If you prefer to be unblocked for the purpose of changing your username to a username which complies with our username policy, so that your contributions with this username are recorded as contributions of your new username and rather than creating a new account, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice instead. Thank you. -- Ed (Edgar181) 13:49, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I had no idea of the policy, did not mean to violate it, will change my username, will delete edits made by old username. Koleimports (talk) 16:16, 13 December 2012 (UTC)

Accept reason:

Per answers below; allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. Kuru (talk) 23:47, 13 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. Daniel Case (talk) 16:24, 13 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I now understand the principles above. I want to request to change my username to a personal one - Springbreeze13 My boss asked me to post a picture, I had no idea it was not allowed or that I could not have that username. I am extremely sorry and promise to not violate those 3 important principles again. I will delete all the edits I have personally made. I will do whatever it takes to rectify this and to not be blocked and not have the page deleted.

I would like to change my username to a personal one: Springbreeze13 And I promise to never edit the "Kole Imports" page again.

I have put in the request for my username to be changed to Springbreeze13 earlier today. If my username is changed, I delete all edits I have made, and never make an edit on the "Kole Imports" page again, will the page not be deleted? Or can you revert it to the way it was before I created a username or made any changes. I PROMISE to never touch it again.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Koleimports (talkcontribs)

The primary reason the article was tagged is that it currently does not demonstrate the notability of the organization using third-party, reliable sources. I've looked around a bit, but I can't easily find much independent coverage of the firm, but I may be missing it in all of the product recalls... You are certainly free to edit the article's talk page (here); if you know of any sources (not press releases or company material) you may want to add them there. Kuru (talk) 00:34, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Both legitimate print magazines and online publications have written articles about Kole Imports. I can provide urls to the sources. Where should I post them?

A message from Anna[edit]

  • Tell your boss that we say it's not your fault if the article gets deleted. If it does, it would have nothing to do with you editing under the koleimports username.
  • If the article gets deleted, would be because no good sources could be found.
  • Please try to find sources to save the article.
  • Please only edit under your new username Springbreeze13.
  • Don't panic.
  • Don't be sorry.
  • If you need me, feel free to click "talk" beside my name.

Best wishes, and don't worry. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 02:00, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Anna, I am sooo happy to receive your message! Happy Holidays!

  • Thank you so much. I have felt so lost on here and I am afraid my boss will be super angry with me.
  • I will only edit under my new username, I promise and never on the Kole Imports page.
  • I put up as many articles I could find that have a url - the rest are in print and I don't know how it would work to scan/send over to you. These articles were written by 3rd party sources about us in industry publications. They are being deemed as Marketing Spam or "Crap". Is there any way the page can be stripped to just show name, founding date, basic history, and 1 line stating what our business does and where we import from?
  • I will press "talk" and talk to you there... Again, Thank you so much! Your kind words made my day.

Best, April Rae

I second what Anna says - you're new here, and weren't to know our policy on corporate accounts. We want to help you to edit Wikipedia, and for you to enjoy doing so. If you have suggestions for the Kole Imports page, you can always make them on its talk page. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 14:34, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 20:12, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
