Syria and Iraq map[edit]

Hi, Spesh. I've noticed you seem to have done most of the updates for File:Syria_and_Iraq_2014-onward_War_map.png, and I was wondering if you had any tips or feedback on the versions I've uploaded in the past (or for that matter any of my maps). I'm pretty new to doing maps. Also, Happy New Year! --John Smith the Gamer (talk) 05:19, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Besides the fact that it seems you are also making each factions color overlay the labels that go with it. Otherwise, it is perfect! Good job! —SPESH531Other 08:47, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I closed the RfC at ISIL on the map - can you update the colors and get rid of the other versions? I don't do maps. Legacypac (talk) 09:04, 4 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Spensh, I'm curious about some map legends you have used. The missle symbol is a missle base, airplane is an air base, but what do multiple dots forming a square mean? Is that a fortress, or strong hold or base? also some dots are larger than others, does this represent that some locations are bigger than others? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Samsamcat (talk) 03:54, January 16, 2015 (UTC)

Kashmir/Driving Through Kashmir Question[edit]

Hi Spesh, do you have any proof that "Driving Through Kashmir" (the as-yet unreleased outtake of "Kashmir") has any lyrics at all, let alone alternate ones? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.175.10.212 (talk) 18:24, 17 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not a clue. We'll have to wait till its release.—SPESH531Other 05:34, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I mean...why add that then? Isn't that almost entirely supposition, and against the sourcing policies of Wikipedia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.10.137.63 (talk) 15:33, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Because of the fact that it will be released. It is set in stone to be released on Feb 24 2015.—SPESH531Other 16:03, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You're making claims about the content of the track that are entirely your own devising. The press release only mentions that it is a mix of the song featuring the orchestra -- the only track that fits your supposition is "Everybody Makes It Through (In the Light)," which is described as "a strikingly different early version [...] with alternate lyrics."[1]

"Islamic State" map[edit]

Hello,
Could you please update the IS map? I've given more details on your Wikimedia Commons talk page.
Thank you in advance.
Best regards.
SenseiAC (talk) 18:27, 12 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The IS recognised last week Boko Haram as part of the IS, so it would be great if you could update the map. More details here. Also, with the bomb attacks in Tunisia, I let you see if Tunisia should be put in yellow on the map. Also, it seems that there are several others messages waiting for you on your WikiCommons talk page.
Best regards. SenseiAC (talk) 15:47, 21 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Africa (orthographic projection)[edit]

Hi, for File:Africa_(orthographic_projection).svg, could you please revert the edit to the 07:48, 12 October 2012 version so that the borders and map features match the other continental orthographic projection maps. Thanks. Nick Mitchell 98 (talk) 02:28, 31 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Possible need to update Iraq location map[edit]

This map, and its derivatives https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Syria-Iraq_location_map.svg

may need to be updated. First of all, the 2 lakes near Ramadi, Habbaniyah and Razzazzah, need to be changed because they partially dried up. Also, it would be nice if a few major highways were shown on these maps as well, but that isn't necessary at the moment; it would be a luxury we can live without.

However, there is something else that we need to address. This source: http://understandingwar.org/sites/default/files/iraq%20SITREP%202015-6-03.pdf

says that ISIS closed some dams and dried up part of the Euphrates river (!!!). The area is between Ramadi and Habbaniyah, as well as possibly south of Fallujah. Do you think we should remove that part of the river? I think we should show that that land can be easily traveled across, as there is no longer a river blocking ISIS/ISF's way. Any chance the proposed merger with "Sugar Mama" be withdrawn? The published credits list Jimmy Page and Robert Plant as authors. 209.177.145.237 (talk) 11:01, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Update the ISIS Map[edit]

You need to update the ISIS territorial control map here: it desperately needs updating: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Territorial_control_of_the_ISIS.svg If I knew how to edit SVGs I would do it myself, but I don't. Use this map as the basis for updating the former: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/61/Syria_and_Iraq_2014-onward_War_map.png Pbfreespace3 (talk) 00:27, 8 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Issue on the Syrian map[edit]

This is concerning an issue on the Syrian location map. A recent dispute has occurred regarding the location of certain villages along the Euphrates River. It affects the location of villages on the Syrian Civil War wiki map. Without going into too much detail, suffice it to say that there is an issue in the map svg itself that needs to be resolved: The Euphrates river appears too thick near the border with Turkey. It is no longer a thick lake, but rather a river, partly due to water shortages. The river's size and shape needs to be adjusted to the current status of the river, which can be interpreted from satellite images. Presumably, not only the Syria location map but also 2 other maps which use this map also need to be updated. The goal of this requested change is to improve the reliability and accuracy of this map, and along with it, Wikipedia. I and the rest of the community would greatly appreciate it if you would update the map. I would do it myself, but I like the necessary equipment and expertise to edit and save SVG files. Thank you. Update Simplified Languages of EuropeMap[edit]

Hi Spesh! It looks like the Albanian language was forgotten to be updated from the same source that was used in the previous map updates. http://www.lmp.ucla.edu/Profile.aspx?menu=004&LangID=36 Can you please update this map to be more accurate for the Albanian language? File:Simplified_Languages_of_Europe_map.svg Thank you very much for your help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alerco (talkcontribs) 22:23, 28 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
