OTD[edit]

Please add either a person's birth, or their death, but not both. They should have only on entry in the year. Stephen 21:54, 27 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

OK
Thanks for your help. Please be sure you read the rules. Thanks again. howcheng {chat} 16:58, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, you keep adding articles to the born/died section that already appear on different dates, or in some cases, they're already included as a blurb on the same day (for example, Caracalla on April 8). Articles can only appear once per year. Check the article's talk page to see it's been selected to appear on a different day. Thanks. howcheng {chat} 04:20, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi![edit]

Hello Sollemne, I just thought I would put a note here to say hi and welcome - I see that we are both busy editing the OTD pages for births and deaths, so we have a similar interest I guess! You'll see that I have removed a few of your additions, just trying to keep the quality high as per the guidelines for this area. Any article featured on the main page should be well referenced, high quality etc. I also just noticed that we'd ended up with three birth entries on one day so I took out the latest one and will try to find a death to put there instead. Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Clement Attlee into Cultural depictions of British prime ministers. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 18:45, 2 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
